I ordered the party tray shrimp rice + more as soon as i picked it up it was cold, not fully cooked, no shrimp i could possible count them in just 10 fingers if any! No flavor && the service was absolutely terrible! Starting with the owner & them idiots that work there. They are very rude & cheap! Never will i go there again or order take out!!!

This place is close to my work place. My co– workers and I frequently come here for lunch. $ 3.89 lunch special for steam rice and one item, can’t beat that! It’s a fast food joint.

This place is all around Gross. The food gave me the poops, the service was confusing and the food was overly greasy. The whole place looks run down and unkept. I do not understand why they will not get a upgrade. Sorry guys, your restaurant gets 1 star from me. Please get a new cook, new staff, new building, heck, new everything. You are making Richmond look like a dump. I also do not understand why you only serve fish once a week and why you do not honor 3 item combos? You make enough money, why is this such a problem?

I have to give at least one stair due to the system requiring it other wise this place really sucks. I was looking at the cooks, one was picking his nose then he picked up a bunch of food and tossed it into the pan. The place is loud and not at all clean. This is part of a small chain and she works her staff like dogs. The owner a female Asian has really bad mood swings I have seen her yelling at customer and in a few minutes be sweet as candy. there are no other Asian places for miles so I guess she figures it her or nothing and if you really need your rice fix, she right. but the last straw was the cooking his buggers, that’s too much for me.

I wouldn’t give this place a star(but had too just to leave this review) and neither should you(PLEASEPASSUPTHISPLACE) they don’t like to wash their hands when asked after handling money sweeping the floor or wiping down the tables with dirty towel water no soap, the cooks as well as the severs take the garbage out with their aprons on(the B%+£# had the nerve to catch an attitude tf) when addressed. They have a bunch of Mexican severs but serve Chinese food(loss me there once I noticed all this I had to WALKTHE F#@₩ OUT as should you. Fair warning

5 stars for the won ton soup. Broth was excellent! Combo plates were typical greasy entrees. Didn’t really care for rice or chow mein. Broccoli beef was crunchy and the sweet n sour n spicy chicken was really good. Egg rolls r only greasy spring rolls with cabbage only. Potstickers suck. I’d go back for soup anytime.

I used to go here often when I was younger and thought the food was pretty good. However my friend will not go near the place due to finding a roach in his food when he was younger. Now today I see a video of a caterpillar in the wonton soup. Needless to say I will not be returning and neither should you.

I am forced to come here for lunch when the café at work has nothing exciting to offer or when I do not bring food to work. It is probably the best Chinese food in this area and that’s saying something. It is a fast food Chinese restaurant with food already prepared and sitting in front of the counter. I usually get the 2 items with steamed rice and a dish which is less than $ 5. If I am super hungry, I get the 3 items with steamed rice and 2 dishes for about $ 6ish. I stick to the usual sesame chicken and some veggie dish. The sesame chicken dish is consistently good. Their fried chicken is also pretty good. This place is in a strip mall where Foods Co is located. There’s plenty of parking. This is a shady area but there’s security walking around. The staff is very nice and super fast. When I am in need of quick and greasy Chinese food during lunch, I come here.

I only eat here because I work in the area and there are not that many places to eat in the area. I usually get the same thing which is the 2 item combo chicken fired rice and special taste chicken. For some reason the chicken in the rice does not taste like chicken to me, I usually pick it out. The only reason I think the special chicken is good is because it is covered in sauce. I am so glad that take credit now!

After 12 hours of traveling by rail and air, I was desperately looking for something to eat me through the next 4 hours until I get home. Being in Richmond and next to the the BART station, there’s not much to eat around here. One quick check on Unilocal didn’t help much either so I proceeded to walk to the nearest shopping center. There was a burger king but I wasn’t in the mood and then, it was either Chef Ming or a Mexican restaurant next door. I quick look over their posted menu and I decided to get their 2 item menu. Little did I know that the Rice/Chow Mein counts as one item and you get to pick one more item from about 15 dishes. That sucks. Usually 2 items means 2 items in addition to the side of rice/chow mein. Anyways, food was as expected. Cheap, greasy Chinese food. For $ 5.45(something like that), it was enough to hold me over while I waited for the Amtrak train. Would I come back here if I was ever stuck in Richmond again? Uh… NO. Did you not read the review? If you’re looking for some Chinese food, look elsewhere. If you’re passing time waiting for an Amtrak Train, burger king might be a better option or head into Food 4-Less and get something there. Which is what I should have done in the first place.

cash only and i hate that! Their fried rice is not that good. Rice was kind of hard and i dont like it. I’m just telling you how I feel. I love their chicken wings, but other than that, this place desereves a 2 star. nothing stands out, and omg this place is expensive for chinese food. You should go to Lees Garden located inside the san pablo plaza. alot of people come here because its close to the work place… its not that great ppls!

This brings me back to the ghetto Carryouts of the Washington DC area. I wanted chinese fast and cheap, and I got exactly what I wanted. I also got some unsavory leers from the group of men hanging around outside the restaurant, and probably indigestion and food poisoning. Don’t go here, just drive to El Cerrito to get Chinese.

with a layover and some hunger i wandered over for something to eat and happened into chef ming, next to a check cashing outlet with a woman dressed as a statue of liberty… so a cafeteria style chinese take out joint, for $ 3.59 two item, i got some shrimp fried rice and chicken wings, oh so yummy, the rice was a bit al dente and bland but hey, this is what they serve at the other end of the world, everybody is greeted by a «charlie chan» type with«hello my friend and thank you my friend» … i thought it was 1960 and in the movie, «CHANISMISSING». I loved everything about this place

Chef Ming’s wall-sized glass window faces a particularly dreary strip-mall parking lot, and pastel-pink walls flank a synthetic tiled floor. Steam trays under a glass counter take up the rear, and directly above it looms one of the most garish combinations of over-sized lettering and neon backlight that any fast-food restaurant ever dared to call it’s menu. I opted for a three item combo priced $ 5.25 which consisted of Fried Rice, Pot Stickers, and Broccoli Beef. It came to me in a massive heap atop a square styrofoam tray. The rice was starchy and not too flavorful. The pot stickers were served at room temperature, and their skins had a porous, soggy consistency to them. The Broccoli & Beef was acceptable, though it’s vegetable portion was served in massive chunks that should have been cut smaller. A sudden influx of families with small children created a dining ambiance that bordered on unbearable. I picked a window seat far back in the South-East corner, trying in vain to separate myself from the band of munchkins that cavorted in the central area. Even then, two insisted on staring at me through the window. If you come here, avoid this table. It gets cramped by a combination of out-the-door lines along with cross traffic from people trying to get to the garbage can on their way out. Most cheap restaurants have a hard time circumventing the old adage of «Good, Cheap, Plentiful… pick two». Chef Ming is no exception. Plentiful and cheap are it’s obvious choices, and judging by the lines going out the door at lunchtime, they’re choices that look like a match for the economic wants and needs of the surrounding area.

Must eat Chinese, when one Must Eat with only $ 2.50 in pocket. Their«lunch box» consists of rice and something else. That something else could be: chicken with vegetables, spicy taste chicken, a different version of general chicken for the financially impaired, dried fried spareribs, and a few other items that change daily. This place always has lines out the door at lunch because financially-strapped starving folks know that they rather eat something mediocre than play the count how many times my stomach can growl within a 1 hour period game. Beats starvation any day!
