Ate here last night and it was the best Korean food we had since moving to Virginia. The Bi Bim Bop was delicious and well cooked. The yaki mandu tasted good as well but the texture of the wonton wrapper was thick, almost like bread. Kimchi spread was good and the attached market is a bonus. Will eat here again!

One of the worst Korean restaurants I have been to. Definitely not worth my money. Wont be eating here again. Service was ok.

Deceiving from the outside but it is pretty nice inside. They have it divided where you cam dine at the bbq section or the non bbq section. This helps tremendously woth the bbq smell all over the restaurant. Also im from the ktown of annandale and didnt expect much but their al tang and dol sot bibimbap was so so great. Their side dishes were fine and their service was nice. They also have a convenient store with korean goodies by the side. Overall a great korean restaurant

Coming here was a great treat as I was able to show my parents how I ate while living in Korea this year. You can sit at a regular table or a «barbecue» table, but no worries, it’s not floor seating like in many barbecue restaurants IN Korea. We opted for the barbecue table, trying to give my parents as authentic an experience as possible. What’s nice about American Kbbq restaurants is that they cook the meat for you, at your table, whereas in Korea, you cook your own. It’s also a lot cheaper in Korea, but I don’t think it’s an apples to apples comparison. The bulgogi was really tasty and the bon chon was great too, though I avoided the fish cake per usual. They also give you a bowl of rice. The bulgogi was the least expensive barbecue item on the menu at $ 17, and it’s technically 1 to 1.5 servings. You can’t order barbecue unless you have at least 2 orders. What I thought was funny was they have the«table button.» This is a huge thing in Korea. Since they don’t work for tips there, there’s a button at your table, so if you need anything you ring the button and then the servers are notified(sometimes via wristwatch) that table #X needs service. Even though they work for tips here, as we’re in America afterall, there is still a table button. It’s not as discreet as in Korea. This button rings like a loud doorbell haha. Still cool, nonetheless. I loved that they had a market attached to the restaurant. There, you can find lots of Korean and even Japanese goodies, from slippers to Cass and OB beer, to candy, tonkatsu sauce, spicy tuna, ramen galore, and lots and lots of gochujang. If you want to have a Korean themed party, this is your place for supplies. Nice to know I can always reminisce about my time in the country just by coming here. Anyway, come for the experience and enjoy the food! Take a step in the market to immerse yourself in Korean culture.

Been here twice! Their regular bibimbap is delicious, and their seafood pancake is amazing. Their BBQ meats are pretty good, but portion sizes are extremely small. We had cha dol bae gi, and after it was done, it was only enough to fill a small bowl, likely only enough for one half hungry person, or two pretty much full people. Galbi was my favorite: super flavorful! Bulgogi is really good too, but wasn’t very impressed with the bacon and the Cha dol bae gi

Not the best Korean food ever, but the best I’ve had in Richmond. I really enjoyed the grills at the table and bell to call the server when you are ready to order. The servers attend to the BBQ by cutting and turning the meat. I highly recommend bringing company with you to eat because there is plenty of banchan to share and Korean food is better for sharing. My only complaint is the prices are a bit high, but choices for Korean are limited in RVA.

I was the only customer in there but I was also eating an early dinner. The place that I went to down the road wasn’t ready to serve what I wanted. This place had what I wanted. Gave it to me to-go with a smile and was fairly priced. The jajamyung was a little bland but still good. The sweet and sour fried pork did not taste like I’m used to. It was a little more on the sour side. The kimchi was amazing! The food temporarily satisfied a craving.

Very good food, pleasantly surprised by the quality of their fresh galbi. Service is good too and reasonably priced. Probably the best korean food in Richmond(among the limited options here).

I have eaten here several times now. The food and service is great for Richmond and I would say the best in Central Virginia.

Finally, I got to try Korean food locally(my favorite is still the Korean Grill at Potomac Mills)!! These Korean ladies got some attitude do they?!^^ nice outside but…(the younger the worse) I was sooo excited to see an authentic Korean BBQ place in RVA. I have to say, I was overjoyed! We ordered 2 dishes for BBQ, pork belly(prefer thin ones), and suggested the tender beef ribs. Start with the side dishes, most of them were very delicious. I love the rice so much! My partner loved his egg side dish and soup. I love my tofu+seafood+Kimchi soup, though a bit fishy. I assume without seafood would be better. BBQ was the ‘interesting part’. Pork belly was cooked on the side(away from us), fatty but cooked well. Both sauces were wonderful. As for ribs, flavors were there, but not chewable(maybe all fat?!) I was disappointed by the meat quality. As for two pieces ribs with bone, the lady took them to the back to cook, burnt and not edible. I say, go vegetarian here?!(Then why go BBQ?) I will be back for lunch box. One more try.

This place has gone downhill. $ 24 worth of short ribs and $ 19 worth of brisket should be more than enough for two adults and two children(4 and 5 years old). Not the case here. The dolsot bibimbap was cold and the rice at the bottom of the hot pot didn’t crisp up at all. There’s also no hard liquor even though they have a bar. Just beer and wine. Our total was $ 84 and we left feeling hungry. Not worth the price.

Traditional K stew was good… appetizers were not fresh made… stick with the in house made items… kimchi so so…

My husband was stationed in Korea and we really enjoy eating Korean BBQ. All the side dishes they serve are some type of vegetable marinated. We ate the marinated short ribs, which we wrapped in lettuce. What makes this place even better is that it’s a great date night restaurant. They have private rooms so that you can dine with all attention focussed on you and your date.

Worst Korean ever. Used to goto Koreatown in NYC a lot, so am familiar with food and flavors, but this was the worst. Ordered 2 bbq items. Pork belly and chicken and kimchi pancake. Pork belly came with 3 small 4″ pieces for 19 bucks. On top of the cost of this incurred for such a small portion; it had no flavor and was tough as nails. Major disappointment. Chicken was portioned correctly, but again, pretty flavorless and this was considered the spicy one. Oddly the table bbq used a strange brass top which imparted no grilled flavor at all, which is the point of going here. Ambiance was horrible. No charm. We were sat in a table/room that had swinging louvered doors. Service was called via a doorbell at head of table. Bottom line, 60 bucks was gone for horribly bland food, which Korean is never known to be. Would not recommend!

My group had a horrible experience today. The waitstaff seemed annoyed when we arrived, and was consistently rude throughout our entire lunch. One example is their refusal to refill our sides. In the past they have always offered to replenish the sides that come with our BBQ entrée. On several occasions we caught them staring at us during the meal. The food is good, but a little overpriced even with the refills. Without, the cost is outrageous compared to the amount of food. I won’t be back.

Definitely didn’t expect to eat like a queen there, they serve you so many dishes with the grill it’s enough for two! Price is a little high, but worth it. Service was great too. Definitely planning to return.

We’ve been to NYC, DC, Philadelphia, and Maryland. This is the best Korean place so far! Most delicious food with most friendly service. Recommended: seafood pancake and the short ribs soup. And the free appetizers are totally awesome! Btw, there is also a small Korean supermarket at the back of the restaurant, which adds extra convenience.

Exceptionally authentic and flavorful Korean in RVA! Love this place. The lunch box specials come with such a variety and qty that you won’t finish it and the flavor are awesome. Outstanding lunch choices of all the levels of «Bop.» Don’t move away or drop dead without trying their Haemul Pa Jeon, an unreal good, HUGE, Korean Seafood & scallion Pancake.(Size of a large plate, stuffed with happiness). AND they have a great Korean store with some ingredients /items I haven’t seen in Tan A.

Agreed! Excellent BBQ, setting, service, and more. The side dishes were plentiful and pretty amazing. One of our friends doesn’t eat red meat and the waitress was kind enough to cook the chicken BBQ for her in the back while the bulgolgi grilled in front of us. What we got. 1) Bulgolgi — delish! 2) Chicken bulgolgi — pretty amazing for chicken 3) Best side dish: the steamed egg 4) Dukkbokki(not on the main menu – $ 10) for an average-ly large plate. It was quite good, though I’ve had a bit better. 5) Seafood Pancake — THEBESTEVER. Huge pancake for $ 14. It’s perfect for sharing amongst 4 – 5 people if not more. Our waters were constantly refilled, and my full stomach came out to just $ 14. Pretty awesome, especially when they’re located in the middle of an off-kilter area ~15−20min away from downtown Richmond. P. S. definitely check out the attached Korean grocery store. Thumbs up for the late-night opening 10:30pm!
