This is the worst McDonald’s. Don’t go thru drive thru if you’re in a rush. Expect to wait

This Mcdonald’s is located on the corner of 23RD St and(drumroll) Macdonald, in the heart of «Greater Richmond.» You’d think that a Mcdonald’s located on a Macdonald Ave. would have to be something special. Well, you’re right. I’ve been stopping by this Macdonalds(I mean Mcdonald’s goddamnit) occasionally, over the years, on my way to other places. The place in question is by no means a destination point, at least not for discriminating diners. Rather, it’s a magnet for what discriminating diners seek to avoid. You see, not only is Macdonald Ave. adjacent to this McD, but a long established establishment, called«Nelson’s Liquor and Deli» is right next door to the Mcdonald’s parking lot. I’m not going to review Nelson’s, because I’ve only been in there a few times, many years ago. Let me just say, the only thing I remember about it was seeing the worst, decaying produce I’ve ever seen, in any store, in my life. Obviously, Nelson’s longevity is owing to sales other than produce and deli. It doesn’t take a degree in sociology to know that the confluence of Nelson’s and Mcdonald’s in the heart of «Greater Richmond» is going to attract the unsavory element that this city harbors. Groups of sketchy people are present at all times in front of the liquor store and in the parking lot. Needless to say, panhandling is endemic. But that’s not unusual. It seems like panhandlers are approaching me everywhere I go in the whole Bay Area. Usually, you’re safe once you get inside of wherever you’re going. Don’t expect that here. Most of the time, the regular clientele will be eating and conversing in a quiet, friendly way. But crazy things happen. One morning I walked through the door and saw a homeless person laying down on a bench, covered in blankets, with his bags laying around. I passed by him and then passed by a big, red puddle. At first, I thought somebody spilled something. Later, I spotted a man sitting and holding a cloth to his head. Then the ambulance and police came. They bandaged his head injury and rolled him out on a gurney. After that, the police told the homeless man, «you have to go. You can’t come in here and make a bed.» After protesting, he left, leaving behind some clothes and a mess. A worker mopped up the blood. Another time, a woman came up to the counter and tried to panhandle a customer there. When the manager intervened, she yelled Bitch! and pushed the cash register off the counter. Bang! It was a big, heavy machine. Wny did she do that? The cash register didn’t do anything. The manager had to heave it up and mend it. I’m giving stars to the staff, because they do a good job and it’s a hard job, being on the front line in the war against poverty.

I visited McDonalds at 5:30 this morning and I ordered a medium coffee and an oatmeal. I was so disappointed the oatmeal container as small as it is for $ 2.19 was only half full and they did not include the apples.

It’s McDonald’s! The food here is the same as any other McDonald’s. Gave it 2 stars because of the homeless and thugs that like to hang out in the parking lot. Bring your kids to a more safe mcdonalds.

Maybe the worst McDonalds ever! Slow and uninspired service, stale buns, creepy drug-crazed people loitering in the parking lot. Also, they refused to accept a perfectly valid coupon that they had given me on my last visit. I complained to corporate and so far have only gotten a big runaround adding insult to injury.

This has been one of the worst McDonalds I have been to. I stopped by for some coffee and quick breakfast and I was quite disappointed. There were people loitering inside the restaurant and they were not customers of the establishment. The restroom was locked and you needed to get the employee to push a button for you to get in. The restroom smelled and there was no toilet paper or seat covers. I was disgusted by this McDonalds and decided not to order food and go to another restaurant.

These people cannot get an order right. The person taking orders spent to much time screwing around with co workers before taking my order and getting wrong twice. I left with the wrong order after correcting it twice. This happens almost every time I go there. Bunch of retarded monkeys working there.

Homeless man displaying his… Wares, for all to see at the microphone for the pickup line and staff blew me off re: doing anything. I get it, it’s not a ideal location, but, CALLTHE fing POLICE– that man could be arrested for displaying himself to minors. Shame management, and mc Donald’s corp for allowing such poor management and representation of your brand.

Look. We all know where we are. A few of us grew up here. Some of us even spent decades on the front lines protecting this place and others like it in this city. That said, this is the worst McDonald’s franchise in the world. Old dried out food. Fries that taste like fish. Cooked in oil well past is 2 prime. I’ve even been inside and watched them stuff so many fries in the basket that they came out in a rectangle that has to be chopped up into servings. But the drive thru is just awful. Order always wrong. …if you complain god knows what they give you. The night crew had an attitude you won’t believe. No place else to go? Fast food isn’t good. But it shouldn’t be inedible. Save your money. Wait until the morning. No stars!

I was in your location at 2301 McDonald ave in Richmond Ca today with my 2 yo grand daughter who repeats everything she hears. There were 9 kids hanging out in the dining room with no sodas, no food, no money spent. They were cursing, talking threateningly, making out in the middle of one booth, making comments about other paying patrons. I went to the manager and she wouldn’t even make eye contact with me, wouldn’t even listen to my concerns and gave me the wrong store number to call to file an incident report. This is supposed to be a family restaurant, I do not expect my 2 year old grand daughter to hear F U C K repeatedly as we are trying to dine. Completely unacceptable. Your manager could NOT have cared less. When I called customer service the CSR i spoke to kept interrupting me and had to be schooled in how a conversation works. I expect there to be changes immediately. But either way I won’t ever go back to that place.

Not safe to go through this drive-thru, day or night. Obviously, the food is unsafe. Besides that, the drive-thru has had a homeless dude out of his mind on drugs asking me for change, right in my face at my car window, both times I tried to eat there. It was a weird experience. I had to yell my McFlurry order past the crackhead standing between me and the microphone/ordering machine outside. Not worth the McFlurry, which by the way was given to me in a McDonald’s tiny free water cup.

Early this morning at 4:09am while n da drive thru i had ordered a big breakfast meal & it took da lady so long to put my order & price up on screen so i can c it, so i said hello is u there & she neva responded so i drove up to window to pay for my order & da lady opened da window & told me she don’t c my order so i argued wit da lady & told her i just ordered da big breakfast meal so then da other lady who took my ordered walked up to da window & told me to drive back around to drive thru & order again & when i did as i was gone order she told me that Macdonald’s policy is we can refuse to take a customer order & i refuse to take yours cuz u yelled at me & i felt it was rude. So then i pulled my car to side & walked up to window asked both ladies what was their name & they refuse to give it too me, but i told them as i was leaving that im goin to put a big time complaint n on yall terrible service… waitin on da manager to call me now or looks like imma have to go up street to da Macdonald’s & talk to da manager cuz he comes n at 6pm tonight & he haven’t call me yet… but nevertheless seems like it’s always a problem here that’s why i will neva eat at this Macdonald’s again i rather go to da other Macdonald’s n San Pablo across from Contra Costa Costa. #im just saying tho

If I could give less than 1 star I would… I was in the drive thru on Thursday Nov 20th at 5:30am… I should have just backed out when I saw the car in front of me yelling HELLO at the drive thru speaker… but I didn’t. So when it was my turn, I was the one yelling hello… No one ever answered back… The car in front of me had parked at the pick up window… so I waited at the speaker… when the car in front of me left I just drove up to the pick up window thinking I’ll order there… no one was at the window… I saw a woman at another register inside. It should be noted the restaurant was closed, only the drive thru was open. She finally comes over and doesn’t really say anything so I asked if there open or what? She said she wasn’t working the drive thru. I asked for the manager because i thought this is crazy even for thus place… So the girl asks if I wanna order something… I said yeah. I want to talk to the manager AND order something… She left and came back after a minute… I kept thinking this isn’t really happening to me… I realized I wasn’t eating anything coming out of that place, So I grabbed my phone and snapped a pic to show the manager later… When she saw me snap her picture, she slammed the window closed and ran away… Now, I know these are low skill and wage jobs… and I respect everyone, but this girl was D+ at best… I’ve been annoyed at this McDonalds a while now… when I stop in at 2am they never have ice tea. they claim they are cleaning the machine… I don’t know why they can’t fill a pitcher up with tea incase someone wants some… Anyway… good thing there is another(better) McDonalds just up Macdonald ave… less panhandlers to deal with. adiós freaks!

Just stopped for coffee. IMHO McDonald’s has the best coffee and the price is right. The service was quick and courteous and the place was clean. The customers and hang arounds can be a little off putting but that’s the nature of the neighborhood. The real problem with this McDs is price. I get coffee about 5 days a week from various McDs and always take note of the price of the Egg Mcmuffin. At this location it is $ 3.89. By comparison I’ve seen some locations sell it for $ 2.99 and just the other day it was $ 3.79 in Frisco. Given the neighborhood they are charging to much.

Ghetto as can be. One person on her gave a 5 star review saying the one word«great». You gotta be kidding me! First of all this place is in the ghetto, so the people that come here are ghetto, people that work here are ghetto, people hanging around here are ghetto. Super ghetto. Never coming again to this location. The service is horrible. Horrible drive thru wait and service!

I’m surprised that this McDonald’s received more than 1 star! This place is terrible!!! Or how my fellow Mexicans say… Madonnas! Haha Richmond has it’s «bad» parts and this is one of them during the late night. You always see bums hanging out and asking for change when you order your food and after you receive it. This is not the ideal place to be at late at night. The line is always long and if you’re in the drive through then you are stuck shall anything bad was to happen. Avoid this McDonald’s! Especially late night! Go to another McDonald’s or a taco truck! Even during the day time it’s full of bums. Just not the ideal neighborhood to be at late nights unless you’re familiar with this territory. I was raised in Richmond yet I don’t feel comfortable being at this McDonalds that late. Just stay away!
