Super friendly service :) Very generous portions, moist, and tender brisket. The links were good. The sauce is unique. It has a sweet beginning with spicing ending. Strong contender with other well known chains. We will return to try the ribs.

The ribs and store bought links was subpar! Potato salad was like grocery store doc-up with mustard and sugar. I just expected a lot more… Probably will never return…

Being born and raised in TX its hard to find a bbq joint that impresses you. Sure, we have tons of bbq restaurants but most are mediocre with a few great ones here and there, R.O.W. has made my personal list of great. Stopped by after shooting clays at ASC and glad we did! Each dinner plate is enough to feed a man with a HUGE appetite, or it can be enough for 2 meals. Perfect-sized portions. We had the ribs, rib tips, and chicken. Each meal comes with bbq baked beans(good, but a little on the sweet side), toast, mustard potato salad(homemade? Taste better than off-the-shelf to me), and what seems like homemade bbq sauce. As everyone has already said, awesome smokey flavor and moist. You can also add an extra meat, order by the pound, and even get a whole smoked turkey. Nice and welcoming staff, service wasn’t fast-food fast, but the friendliness made up for that! Next time we go I’m getting the brisket! Only downside was there’s no seating if you want to eat there(thats what tailgates are for) and no beer, but there’s a liquor store in the same lot. They do accept credit cards. And there’s plenty of space to park. Nicely priced at about $ 9 – 11 per plate.

My husband and I have stopped in at R.O.W. a handful of times in the last year, and overall the food is pretty decent, although we have experienced an off day or two where the ribs, while still good, are not as tasty as they are on their best days. Not a huge fan of the BBQ sauce, though: it has a metallic tang that says store bought to me. The only side we have had is the potato salad, and that is good also. As other reviewers have mentioned, the proprietor is a genuinely nice guy and seems to take pride in both his food and customer service. Since our stops here are usually spur of the moment, it may not be the most accurate observation to say they have unpredictable hours, but it does seem that way. All in all, generally very good ribs and personable service make R.O.W. one of our favorite«fast» slow food stops.

I still have the nice smoky BBQ taste in my mouth as I’m writing this review. Since it was my first time there, Wayne recommended the Ribs Dinner. The ribs were tender and very flavorful. Did I mention that it had the required smoky flavor any self respecting BBQ meat should have? I almost didn’t need the sauce, and that’s saying a lot for someone who usually drenches her BBQ. But don’t be mistaken. The sauce shouldn’t be ignored. It is sweet and tangy deliciousness. The portion is generous so if you are a sauce lover make sure to ask for extra(they only give you one). Side dishes are decent. A good accompaniment to the main dish. Enough about the food… The owner, Wayne, deserves five stars as well. Super friendly and generous. He offered me a free drink since it was my first time. He also added some complimentary brisket for me to try! Bonus points? I don’t know if this matters to anyone else but his water was ICECOLD. Literally ice pieces in the semi-frozen bottle. I understand that BBQ is very subjective. Buuuut, this place inspired me to write my first Unilocal review! It’s definitely worth a try. Even if you don’t like the food(I doubt it) it’ll be great to support such an awesome guy, who truly knows what southern hospitality is. ** They only open Wednesday — Saturday.(Sundays as well during football season!)

After waiting for my son at the dentist for a couple hours last week I got hungry. I looked outside to see if the BBQ trailer I spotted 2 hours earlier had magically opened for business(it was closed when I arrived). I was pleased to see smoke billowing out and left to get some. It was raining and there wasn’t much cover but the owner was nice to let us inside and wait out the schizophrenic weather we were having that day. Ribs — looked fantastic. Tasted great, but were sadly quite a bit on the chewy side. I was bummed. I can tell this place can produce savory ribs, I just caught them on an off day I believe. Brisket — had great flavor but sadly no smoke ring or bark whatsoever which was really sad. The flavor and moisture were there, not sure why the bark wasn’t, my guess is perhaps it was sitting in a beef broth? Sauce tasted like homemade, not bad but on the ketchupy side. What I really liked about this place was the backyard flavor of their BBQ. You can taste a little charcoal flavor in their smoke and it smells fantastic.

Let me tell you something… These ribs and brisket will make you wanna smack your momma they are so good. Ribs are fall off the bone tender, the brisket is filet mignon soft and the aroma from the grill could be smelled 5 miles away. Mr Wayne treats all his customers like family, you don’t have to be from Chicago to enjoy this Chicago style of grilling and seasoning… But when I eat here, I am at home… Go give him a try if you already haven’t done so, you won’t be disappointed

The ribs and brisket were soooo delicious without bbq sauce!!! Very moist and tender, I will be making several trips back in the future. Also the owner Mr. Wayne was very nice and welcoming, so that was a plus for me.

You got to appreciate the ribs that the owner serve here! He cooks the ribs and whatever else I guess from his black with white letters«R.O.W»(Ribs on Wheels) truck. It’s a like a taco truck or a Ohmygogi truck only except this one serves rib and it’s within walking distance of my subdivision! I’ve tried the ribs once when my BF ordered it and brought it home, so I have no experience with the owner, just the ribs and it was dang good! The last time I tried to order some, he was close. Maybe because it was raining? I even tried calling his number to see if he was open. When there was no answer, I drove out there and sure enough, it was closed. ‘doh! I’ll give a more depth review after seeing the menu and ordering directly from the owner. So far 5 stars!

Hhhm, «absolute best barbecue» Is very abstract and I guess everyone is a critic here right? But a one line Unilocal review… well… IMHO… this place deserves way more: So let me tell you about my experience with Ribs on Wheels. Nicest guy ever. He shook my hand. Asked for my name. Gave me his business hours(card, take away menu) and was just the sweetest ever. Told me the best item to order was the ribs. I however, was planning on eating right away in my car as it was drizzling and had hopped off a flight and got the chopped brisket sammy. It was on par for what it should be but had to rely on the barbecue sauce for moisture. Barbecue sauce is also a matter of taste. That day I was not feeling the barbecue sauce. I may feel it the next time I go back and order many different things and enjoy it right there in Richmond. The bun was also on par but nothing that should be raved about. I will say that I really enjoyed my drive out there and enjoyed my interaction with the owner/operator. Enough so that I would go out side of my ITL living to make it happen — I think every business that has great service deserves more chances if a certain item is a standout right? Cheers to great customer service!
