Pretty darn good ice cream! I opted for a single scoop chocolate frozen custard. The portion was large and the prices were reasonable. The custard was much creamier than I expected and the sweetness of the chocolate was just right! Very good place to stop for a treat!

I’m from California, so I’m not sure what options exist nearby in terms of frozen custard, but this place doesn’t cut it. The custard is bland and not that creamy. I believe Stricklands Frozen Custard operates in Ohio somewhere. That is the best frozen custard I have had. I’m not sure how far it is though.

I’m not sure what they’re selling exactly. They say both«frozen custard» and«ice cream» but it doesn’t taste like either exactly. I was hoping for New Jersey style frozen custard – like Kohr Brothers – this isn’t it. It’s thick and creamy, almost more than the spoon can handle. It’s not overly sweet and the chocolate taste is not overwhelming. Even in 90 degrees F, it didn’t melt quickly. Why the table umbrellas are gone is a mystery. They could use some shade over the tables. They also mention Italian water ice. That sounds like a good option since the nearest Rita’s is about 50 miles away. Whatever it is that they serve, it’s good, and the servings are big, so it’s rather inexpensive when you compare it to Dairy Queen.

As Rachel said the single scoop in HUGE. If you ask nicely they will give you two half scoops– I got the lemon and lite vanilla which really helped even out the sweetness and creaminess for me. It is hand scooped though it seems like soft serve. Great summer treat and I love that you can sit outside.

Yep. Yep. Yep. After reluctantly forgoing dessert at Firehouse BBQ at lunch, I made my husband go through the drive-thru for frozen custard at Ritter’s. First of all, how could frozen custard be bad? Second of all … there is no second of all. I had chocolate, the others had cake batter. There were no complaints. «Single scoop» was ginormous. I’d be afraid to order a double.

Really great tasting ice cream, which I guess is technically frozen custard as it states in the name. It is very rich indeed, but a treat not to be missed. I know everybody raves about Cold Stone Creamery, but I think Ritter’s blows Cold Stone away. Ritter’s isn’t overly sugary, something that I noted Cold Stone’s to be. Ritter’s also makes some amazing ice cream cakes. We’ve had the Reese’s PB cup cake and the Oreo cake, both are soooo good. The other cool thing(haha, no pun inteneded!) is that they’re open year round. Heck, even I crave ice cream in the dead of winter and I’m pretty darn happy that this place accomodates. A must-taste if in Richmond!

I love ice cream. Therefore no good ice cream shop deserves to go unnoticed. Since frozen yogurt is not a common thing in Indiana, I would assume they’ve got good ice cream to make up for the lack of frozen sweets varieties. My bf tells me his brother came here and recommended it, and he hadn’t and passes by this place to work a lot, so why not try it since I’m here? We park and immediately I know this place is a nice family place to take your kids after a day of school or just a place to relax and enjoy frozen delights in nice breezy weather. I get a HEATHGLACIER, which reminds me of the Heath Blizzards I used to get at Dairy Queen, and it’s great! They put a lot more smaller pieces of Heath bars in comparison to DQ’s larger but less amount in their blizzards. The taste is great! The sweetness is perfect, the tiny heath bars crunch in my mouth and I love the crunch+crème+cold taste of the Glacier. My bf decides to go simple and less fattening option(haha, I’m a Fatty) of a simple and huge single scoop of CARAMELCASHEW. I tell ya, the smoothness of the caramel with the strong cashew taste made this an instant favorite flavor of mine. I would love to see Baskin Robbins or Dreyer’s serve this as well. Delish, yum yum. I must say, it’s such a nice change to have real ice cream once in a while instead of following the current trend of non-fat frozen yogurts. The satisfaction is real. ;D I also want to note that this place is apparently also known for their wonderful selection of custard pies and cakes(which I regretfully did not have a chance to try) but I just want to throw that out there in case someone’s is having a birthday.
