Russo’s New York Pizzeria

I just wanted to say how wonderful the staff at this location are. I have been trying to avoid dairy and soy due to a milk protein intolerance in my 6 month old who is getting strictly breast milk. I let the waitress know and the cook came out and spoke to me directly. They were so accommodating and I appreciated it so much! Thank you!

This place is great the crust is nice and thin the sauce is great the cheese is just perfect I recommend this place to everyone who loves yummy pizza

SUPER hit or miss. I recommend going for lunch when it’s affordability makes it worth it when they miss.

Horrible service– serve burnt pizzas– then they give you a credit and when I tried to order calzones instead the guy cook talked rudely to me that I can only order pizza instead. I was gonna pay him the difference but still they were rude. They don’t know how to make there customers happy and want them to come back. Horrible experience will never go here again !!
Also when I went back to get my order — I asked them to give me some house bread so she gives me literally 3 old, stale, little strips of it — I should have just thrown back on their faces. And that guy looked and stared at me as if it’s all my fault to get a burnt pizza and they are doing a favor to me by giving the credit. Hate this place !! No warm feelings

Can’t go wrong with anything you order here. Everything is delicious and wait time is minimal for service and food. I recommend the margarita pizza and baked ziti pasta, but even when we venture out and try new dishes they never let us down. Only reason they don’t get 5 stars this time is because we ordered an appetizer that we never received, but there was only 1 waitress working the entire restaurant alone, so it’s understandable that she may have been overwhelmed and tired. Nevertheless she was extremely friendly and prompt and catered to our needs. We will be returning!

This is normally one of my favorite places to eat. I cannot stand order out pizza ever since I came back from New York 4 years ago. This place always does good on their meals and i love the pizza. The pasta dishes are wonderful.
I toyed back and forth as to whether or not to give them a 4 or a 5 ONLY because this one waitress I have had three times, I refuse to sit in her section if she is working that evening. She is slow, doesn’t attempt to fill your drinks and luckily the drinks I can get up and get myself but I shouldn’t have to. She forgets things when you ask her for them, such as silverware or water! She should seriously rethink her job.
Management should consider who they have as servers because the food is worth it but lousy service is not.

Unfortunately, I have heard great things about this place but my first visit was horrible. Granted it was a Friday night but not terribly busy. We walked in and the hostess said it was a 15 minute wait (with multiple tables open) but okay. I asked if we could sit outside. She replied that we could but no menus nothing. The waiter came out and asked for our drink order, but we had no menu.
We waited at least 25 minutes for water, a glass of wine and a beer. He returned after reminding him and we he brought the wine but no beer. After blowing us off I finally got up and went to the bar myself and got the beer.
This place really needs to step it up. This is a prime location with great food in the area.

Great place for NY-​style pizza in the Richmond area. It’s not our personal favorite city-​wide, but because of location we happily frequent Russo’s. Our favorite place is not decidedly so much better that we would make a drive for it. Russo’s is an all-​around pick! The interior is a nice step up from usual pizza joints, with a full bar and classy décor. Recommended!

Awesome brunch! $ 9 for eggs Benedict and so worth it! Best Bloody Mary I’ve ever had– truly unique! My kids each had a slice of pizza as big as their head for $ 3.50 each. We will be coming back for brunch for sure!

So I have come back to rewrite this review, after being so angry that it became a rant instead of a review.
Poor customer service. We waited for a waitress for at least ten minutes until the bartender took our order… we noticed many people who came after us were immidiatley served by waitresses, while we were still waiting for our bread dip. When I asked for bread, the waitress rolled her eyes and gave me the dirtiest look.
Food– the food was at least yummy, but it came as we were about to walk out, since it had taken an hour. There was also something wrong with the food, because afterwards my friend and I decided to go to ulta. Here is where my stomach started killing me, and I ended up throwing up.
I was so dissapointed because I have eaten there before and these complaints haven’t applied to them, but boy was I angry, especially since I couldn’t hang out with my friend, and it turned the rest of my day into a bad one

Wow. I’m from New York, and Russo’s taste a lot like the food I had growing up there. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly and helpful. I will definitely be coming here again.

Get meatballs! Great pizza place and neighborhood bar. We had a large pizza, meatballs and garlic knots. The bartender was really friendly and everybody that was there was having a great time. Buffalo Wild Wings was packed, so we went here. I think I’d pick it over BWW… They deliver too.

Pretty good pizza. We’ve eaten inside once and gotten takeout two other times. I’m obsessed with their garlic knots! The best I’ve ever had! They’re so fattening but sooo worth it!
The pizza is greasy goodness and always fresh. And there’s a ton of options on their menu. Definitely a fun and delicious place for families and friends alike!

This place is great! For lunch you can get a HUGE slice of pizza with any toppings and a salad for under $ 10! The service is great! They have expanded and now have a very nice bar area with an awesome bartender (Kojo). Dinners are great because they offer everything from pizza to fancy Italian entrees. Their house cabaret is great and not expensive by the glass.

Gyro good did need more tomatoe and onion. Tomatoe was diced which should be sliced. Fries well they are just fries.

I have been ordering (Delivery only for obvious reasons, fast food chain restaurant). My average ticket order is $ 45-​$ 50. On ⁶⁄₁₁ the wait was over 2 hours. I called the restaurant (of course teenagers are working) and advised to cancel the order. This is a Franchise fast food restaurant but honestly I order because it is better than Pizza Hut and like most of us, working late coming home at 6pm the last thing you want to worry about is cooking. What is humorous is they know how much money one spends by typing in your phone number. The last four of mine is: 7707.
The past five orders have been the same. They promise to deliver within 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Clearly, the owners are first time franchise owners. I was placed on hold for 20 minutes after waiting for over two hours just for a high school student to drive up and I quote: «Sorry Dude I know I am late but I had to take my break man and I am the only driver tonight because it is Thursday».
Gave the child my business card and stated give this to your GM as I will be lodging a compliant to the Franchisor «Russo’s New York Pizzeria».
Point is, pick up. Sure. Dine in (look at the atmosphere, I am sure you would not). Delivery? Never again after five times in a row waiting over 2 hours for receive cold Pizza, Hot Wings, and Italian dinner. As a consumer that really does not have high expectations other than when I pay $ 45 – 50, I expect to have the food delivered by a professional and warm.
To the General Manager: Schedule enough drivers on a Thursday Night. This is Katy, a community that supports you. We expect to have a delivery time that is reasonable and food that is warm. In return we will pay and tip your drivers well.
Will never order from this place again, nor my neighbors.

The service was great! Food was awesome! Felt like we were back in New York. Pizza slices were huge enough to fill two people. Our waitress Kennedy was great! Very attentive and gave great service.
Can’t wait to bring the rest of the family!!!

Overall this is a good experience. Not just a dinner out, but an experience. There is a little noise but not bothersome, and there is nice music playing which gently overshadows the kitchen clanging that’s normal in any restaurant. I hope to come back many times as they’re doing it pretty close to wonderful folks.
What we ordered:
Calamari — These look like a plate of onion rings. No little legs here. I actually prefer the little legs :) but apparently some folks do not. Having said that, the rings are tender and perfectly cooked with good fresh from the sea flavor. They are lightly battered and fried with a little parmesan dusting and served with marinara sauce for dipping.
Mediterranean salad — This beautiful overflowing plate of salad greens, sun dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts, olives, gargonzola cheese, fresh tomatoes, crisp green peppers is a joy for the palate. We tossed in the dressing which is served on the side and dug in. The large is enough for a family of 3 – 4 to share with hearty portions.
Greek Calzone, add chicken. This was a repeat from our prior visit based on a server’s suggestion. It was worth a repeat — creamy with a fantastic blend of flavors. The perfect saltiness of the fresh mozzarella grabs you right away, and the crisp crust is light and airy.
And last but not least– Ruffino Chianti.
Missteps: The wine list, which is short (fine by me, great choices) does not have pricing. No pricing is fine if the waiter knows the pricing, ours did not. After we asked for a list, we had to ask about pricing, and each time the server had to ask someone else. When our decision was delivered to the table, it was opened /​cork replaced/​and set on the table with glasses. No wine poured in glasses for us, which was unexpected and a little disappointing.

I have avoided NY Pizzeria for a year and a half. However, this Saturday night our family was pressed for time and wanted some real New York Pizza.
We begrudgingly decided to give Russo’s NY Pizza another try. Upon arriving, we were promptly greeted by the person who happened to be our waiter, (Carlton). He was very attentive and listened carefully to our requested.
I was amazed at how quickly our drinkable, salads, and ultimately the big «Pie» arrived. In the past getting a drink order took ten minutes and a pizza was nearly an hour. This time the pizza arrived (cooked to perfection) in 10 minutes! It offered a stimulus of mouth watering joy with each bite. The crust was thin and crispy, the disuse had the perfect seasoning and spices, and the cheese/​toppings were top quality.
Although I give great «kudos» to Carlton, I observed that others in the restaurant seemed to be attended to in a prompt manner as well. I seems that their must have been a change in management. Since the total operation is now running how a quality restaurant should. They even expanded by taking over the space once occupied by Quiznos.
Nice turn around! Keep it up and we will frequent your restaurant. And Carlton, you have the skills to grow into a great professional! Keep up the great work!

Meh. It was just okay. Moved here six months ago from Buffalo so it’s difficult to find a good pizza and wings place.
Maybe i should give it another shot.
We ordered the margherita pizza which turned out to be okay. We also ordered the wings. Really not sure what’s going on with those. Why do people have to bread wings? Totally unnecessary. Look I’ve had breaded wings before and they were pretty. This place, not so good.
Im still on the prowl for best pizza and wings in Houston.
