Now a Howard Johnson’s. Stayed overnight. Affordable at $ 60. Clean. Comfortable king size bed. Nice swimming pool. Volleyball net. Horse shoes. Spacious grounds. Big room. Tip: locals like to eat at the nearby Weck’s. Negatives: hot tub was down for maintenance. A few of the big trees are dying. Guy at front desk could have been a tad bit more friendly.

This place was a Thanksgiving nightmare! They charge $ 15 a Dog a night for rent. Reasonable until you add in the $ 400 veterinarian bill, for a scorpion bite that occured INSIDE our room on thanksgiving night. Do not take your little loved ones there, your 4 legged and your human babies. It’s just not worth the risk. My poor little guy was very very sick. They obviously dont have any pest control. The grounds they advertise as vast and peaceful are full of dog feces, broken glass and cigarette butts. Thank goodness the Cottonwood Animal Clinic was able to see him in an emergency, they were a god send. Traveling home a day early to California was stressful and difficult. I would post pix if I can. If anyone wants to contact me for further info my email is … side note, the very fridge at the continental breakfast had dead bugs and hair on the bottom., should have left that very minute.

This place is huge, and it seemed like we were almost alone in a seemingly abandoned place. Could be scary for some. When they asked us to park around back — it was a bit dumpy looking. This place looks like it might have seen better days.

Well if you need inexpensive accomodations northwest of downtown ABQ in Rio Rancho, you could try here. It will be well under $ 100, and as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. This place is not just old school, it’s just plain old! It has a box shape, with parking in front of your unit, like a motel, and a large courtyard in the middle. It actually does have meeting rooms, too, but not much in the way of food or other amenities. If you want something more modern and familiar, there is a Hilton Garden Inn not too far down the street.
