Prices Are very appealing for the amount of food you get(dinner specials). Coffee cup stays filled & no free refills on soda BUT cups are huge so really no one should drink that much soda. Cute homely restaurant. I enjoyed it!

I give this diner 5 stars because it is exactly what it purports to be — a Diner. We stick to ordering diner food(burgers, fries, eggs, etc…) The staff is full of hard working women who are doing their best. I see bad reviews for reasons other than restaurant issues. So what, you can’t plug your laptop in? Should that stop a normal person from dining here?

We have been here twice in the past month. Both times the staff has been friendly and patient. Food(wraps once, panini’s once) hot and delicious. Waitress stopped by often to refill coffee and ask if we needed anything.

Good service terrible food. I mean if you can’t make a burger right you have nerve calling yourself a diner

Finally… an actual outdated diner with a blue collar vibe. Perfect. What modern snack bar supposedly is but isn’t. this is. Blackboard plain special’s for lunch. I think I had a plate of noodles gravy and some over salted beef. ok. well. I have to say they did have chamomile tea and yes they had honey. Waitress and staff all hurried and pleasant. perfect.

I had a Greek salad and sweet potato fries. The meal was decent and the best part was the delicious side order of grape leaves and the coffee which was perfection. I drink mine black, so it better be good :) I’m giving four stars because the service was incredible! Both the waitress and bus boy took very good care of my friend and I. Our coffee cups and water glasses were always filled and the waitress had a wonderful personality. I wish I got her name!(Whoever was on board Monday, around 10:30 a.m. — a lovely dark-haired lady). I live over two hours away, but if I’m ever back in the area, I will definitely come again! New Jersey loves Peconic Bay Diner! :) :) :)

Good, solid diner that is extremely convenient to a friends summer place in Riverhead. At first glance the prices for the breakfast items seemed a touch high but the fact is that nobody could finish their food because the servings were huge! I had my standard diner breakfast order; scrambled eggs and corned beef hash(cheese on the eggs). Delicious and enormous. *Bonus points for having really oniony home fries. Solid — what more do you want?

This is a great diner with really tasty food. Coming from NYC, it’s so refreshing to get a ton of good food for a super low price. They have so many options to keep everyone happy and great desserts too. The service is great also. Would definitely come here again after my visits to the vineyards in Long Island.

Perhaps the worst diner I have ever been to. Five of us rolled in late one night and everyone’s food was terrible. The pictures on the menu are also some of the worst food photographs I have ever seen someone put on a menu. This should have been a hint! Staff couldn’t have cared less. No atmosphere. Looks like no one has put a cent into this place either for about 30 years. Awful — won’t be back.

Ok it’s a diner… coffee was hot, cup stayed filled, eggs were eggy… what were you expecting when you drove up caviar served with white gloves & a bottle on canto Shiraz 1984? Pancakes were fluffy, omlets were omlety… place is 97million times cleaner then the dump down the street & I didn’t sit there for over an hour waiting for my food while patrons behind me discussed the upcoming nascar season… overall good diner!

This is just a regular diner, nothing special. At breakfast the portions are as large as the prices, so if your party is large enough to share it can be a good value; otherwise not so much. The staff are as polite, respectful and friendly as you can expect from strangers. If you know them they are apparently warm as well. And they’re open when you need them, which makes all the difference in this location.

Worst diner ever. Gyro wrap was awful. Served hot. Really? Never been to a diner that charges for refills of soft drinks

I eat here because it is so close to where my Dad lives. And as it was 13 degrees this evening it made sense to just go here. The folks whom work here and the owner are super nice. I have eaten here a half dozen times before. The service is decent and it is never busy. However, the food has challenges — yeah, some real challenges. I started off with a gin and tonic. Good, strong — but maybe not the greatest feat for a diner to get right. I then had a large bowl of French onion soup. It was bad and strange. First of all it had a chicken base. French onion soup has a beef base. Right? The melted cheese/bread? Not sure what went wrong but it was a mishap. I shared a chicken/cheese pannini and fries with my Dad. It was pretty bad. Well the fries were fine but the pannini had real challenges. The location is great and the décor ok and homey. I just wished they could step up the food a notch or two. Improve the food and they can take customers from Paneras and Applebees!

Typical diner fare, good food pretty quick. Beer selection could be better, maybe some local brews. Waitresses are mostly friendly and accommodating when we have a hungry baby with us!

Nice people but avoid. Tuna melt looks like a Penguin pooped on a pita, see picture. The decoration is horrific, a velvet Elvis wall hanging would be an improvement.

I am glad I am not the first bad review on this one and not the last. Stopped here for a business lunch. My customer and I had our computers and about 10 minutes we were asked to put them away. Are you kidding me in this day and age. This not a 5 star restaurant. I sarcastically said to the waitress I didn’t realize I needed to read the rules before I ate here. She then noted it is actually on the menu not to use laptops… LOL. I will never NEVER go back here… very inhospitable for a diner. I wish I could give it 0 stars

Well they blew it. I asked if they had a table near an outlet so I could charge my laptop. the ditz at the register(hostess? Ugh) said that the boss does NOTALLOWIT!!! AYFKM? 10 cents of electricity for some good will and maybe a good review of their food. The place was 20% filled at lunch on a Tuesday. I could understand if there were none available but to flat-out say it was not allowed — GOODBYE. I said I was off to Panera to give them my business. I would have dropped $ 20+ on lunch and they lost that because of 10 cents. Stupid and ignorant. Based upon the food reviews, I didn’t miss much, I guess. I actually went to Modern Diner down the road — awesome. See my review later.

An average diner requires plates filled with edible food, fast & friendly service, and the ability to linger for awhile after the check arrives. After yesterday’s visit, I can say that Peconic Bay Diner is an average diner. Really there’s nothing else to say, my boyfriend and I needed to eat on our way back to Manhattan and we both like diners. So we came here and it was good.
