My husband and I purchased our 2014 Forester here in August 2013. It was generally a moderate experience as I did not have high expectations… we were happy with the price, transaction, and quality of the vehicle(got the only manual transmission on the lot at that time), but ultimately, my feeling walking away from this place was: misogynistic. Unfortunately, the salesman, Tim, treated my husband and my father(who accompanied us) very differently than he treated me. I traded in my 2008 Madza 3 to purchase the Forester, and even though the title and registration was completely in my name, this salesman insisted upon addressing my husband only and it his name that was put on our extended warranty agreement. It was abundantly clear that I was a very equal part of the purchase of this vehicle, but some men just don’t seem to get it… treated me like a little girl rather than a grown woman. In the time since the purchase of the vehicle, the people in service have been fair. They pinpointed the oil leak our 2014 Forester had(like so many other 2010 – 2014 Subarus) as it was coming from the oil pan gasket and it was fixed under our warranty. No problems after that. One redeeming quality this dealership has going for it is Ken Hausner in Finance. He is a very good person and has been enormously helpful AND respectful, a stark contrast from the reprehensible experience I had with Tim McCutchan in Sales…

I drive a Volkswagen CC and love it! However I had issues with my engine that needed immediate attention. I chose to go to Donaldsons in Sayville, big mistake. They tried to replace parts I found out that I didn’t need. The parts came out to $ 500. But the labor came to $ 3000! My mind was blown because my warranty just ran out. I didn’t know what to do. A friend recommended I try Riverhead Bay. I was already at odds with Donaldsons, I didn’t expect much from Bay. However I talked to a guy named Ed that was very nice. Before he did the work he gave me a price, how much where parts and labor and he didn’t sell me parts I didn’t need. When I got there they actually over charged me and corrected the mistake. I have never been so excited. When I got my car it drove like a dream. My car was running for more then half the price I would have paid at Donaldsons. If you don’t have a warranty my advise is to give Bay a try. Tell Ed I said hi!

My wife and I recently bought a 2015 Subaru Outback from Riverhead Bay Motors. Our salesperson was Linda Manning. The professionalism exhibited by her both before and after the purchase was exemplary. Everyone we dealt with at the dealership was«no nonsense» and knowledgeable about the vehicle. I researched the Subaru Outback before our purchase. I’m confident that I bought a quality product from a quality dealership.

I did not buy my VW here but I have taken it in for scheduled maintenance twice and the experience was seamless. Once I had an appointment and the other time they took me as a walk in. The work was done quickly and I wasn’t upsold on any unnecessary services or anything. Easy, quick and simple. I ask for nothing more than this from a car dealership.

Just purchased a vehicle from this dealership in September. Less than 90 days later my stereo stopped working. After paying 11,000 up front for the vehicle they are not willing to help with any costs for the stereo which costs 1,000 to replace!!! Very upset with this dealer!!!

Don’t waste your time shopping around. There is NO need to shop anywhere else PERIOD. Best price for a car from the BEGINNING. James and Jeff were professional, courteous and extremely helpful. I had been to numerous dealers in the area and these guys were the BEST!!! I had such a great experience that I WILLBE returning to purchase my next vehicle from this dealership.

My 2013 Passat was flat bedded there when the turbo imploded with only 7K miles on the car. Service Dept communication was terrible, and the repair estimated at three days took them twelve days. «Tomorrow» should be their motto. Great sales staff but a HORRENDOUS service department.

Friendly Dealership, great staff. Had a great experience with VW Sales and the service department. I haven’t had any dealing with the subaru side yet but I’ll update my review when I do.
