Their veggie burger is not the best, the nacho is flavorful but there’s not enough chicken

All I asked for was fresh fries and I got some old dried out fries :(I have this problem almost every time I go to the Barn. I’m not to sure what’s so hard about just dropping me some fries especially if I’m specifically asking for them to be fresh :(
I like this place but this has happened to me about the last 3 times I’ve went… not to happy

First time here. Great breakfast place. The breakfast burrito with bacon and sausage was delicious! Good service, will definately come back here again.

I feel bad for giving 3 stars, because the service was great for all 3x that i went.
First, i went by myself and got the barn breakfast. All i remember was the oil. Since they put all my food in one plate closely packed, the oil drenched bacon, sausage, and potatoes touched my fruit and lettuce and so my plate was just a mix of oily food. When i tasted each, it was all so drenched in it that i couldnt taste anything. just oil. I ended up leaving it there after like 3 more bites and decided to let the student manager (asian guy) know. I dont ever give reviews in person, but i thought maybe they weren’t aware about this. Besides, it was an expensive meal.
Thank goodness he was polite about it. He apologized nd offered a free meal for my next visit and let the other boss/​manager lady know. She seemed sincerely sorry. i felt bad, but i took the free meal and came back the following week. This time, i had the chicken club (i forget which sauce) with potatoe wedges and it was ok. It wasn’t the best tbh. I think i remember the chicken tasted a bit off, like dry and the wedges had too much seasoning. I came back a third time today and had the island nachos-​you know when u think of nachos, u think of hot melted cheese with all the toppings? Well, these use cheese dressing/​sauce instead. I would’ve preferred if they had not used the dressing/​sauce, because the taste of it gets thick in ur mouth after a while. What i did like was the chicken and avocado cubes (pretty good!) and the price, $ 4ish.
After those visits, i would come back and give it another try, because i heard that some other meals r great, like the 3lb burger and the fries, but right now i would not sincerely recommend this place. If u want to try something new, go ahead. I wouldnt get ppl’s hopes up for amazing, super spectacular food though. Its just ok. :)

Can’t get a order right to save their life. When the food comes it tastes great, but rarely comes on time. Customer service is dead.

Offers a variety of healthy choices. I prefer it over the HUB. Good prices and great service too :)

I don’t like the barn for my first year and somehow I have the thought all their food all salty and overpriced… However, this year I had several great experiences here. I love the buffalo chicken burger and ¹⁄₃ lb burger. And their spaghetti is more than I expected :) definitely good place to come :)

honestly i was surprised with how good their food was. I much rather come here, there prices add up to be about the same as the food in the hub but the quality of this place is def at a much higher level!!! yum !!!

Delicious cuisine. You can find quite a long long line in there but the wait is definitely worth it. Once the food is ordered it doesn’t take long for it to arrive to your table. The Barn has fair prices and great food. I’d also suggest trying the new Agua Fresca since it’s amazing.

The barn is a bit pricey, being an on campus dining option. But it’s definitely my preferred spot on campus. Not a lot of people know about it, most undergrads tend to eat at the hub so the Barn is actually a pretty relaxing place to be.
For the last two weeks they just started serving rusas. Which is amazing. It takes a bit long to make. Because they’re just starting to learn it as an addition to their menu and also because it’s so popular.
The barn is a great place for organizations to host events. They will work with you to help you creat the space you need. For Future Business Leaders of America — phi beta lambda, we had our Winter gala at the barn and they were very accommodating to all the set up requirements we needed. The staff is great and very helpful. For events they even provide a Dj to help play the music.
The food for the most part is great. The pulled pork sandwich is A+. Their fries are good when the seasoning is even. And they have daily soup specials. They even serve breakfast foods before 10:30

First time eating at the barn and I had a really good experience. The service was great, and although I was a little iffy about trying their breakfast because I thought It’d taste like the dorm food, I was wrong. They had quite a few options for breakfast so I chose the French toast and orange juice. Everything was great, price for orange juice was a little steep but it’s fresh squeezed orange juice! So you can’t beat that. Definitely would come back and the service from Evelyn I believe was her name was amazing.

Disclaimer: I try to eat organically and vegan and I prefer to be sustainable.
For breakfast hours, which are earlier than what’s posted on Unilocal,they only have orange juice, coffee, and a fruit cup anything, else would have to be tailored to a vegan diet.
None of it is advertised as organic and you have to use a paper cup for coffee and silver wear comes wrapped in a paper napkin.
The service was good!
My breakfast potatoes order came out small and the waiter who delivered it took it back and brought a bigger order.
Would love to come again if there is something new to try or if I need cheap unhealthy breakfast.

Great place to have lunch if you are on ucr campus. Great daily specials made fresh. Daily fresh soups and cookies available. Awesome tuna melt at a decent price. Best price for food option on campus.

This is by far the best place to eat on campus for the price and quality. It’s only a few more dollars than the other dinning options and tastes way better. My favorite part about the barn is that they are constantly changing the menu which allows me to have the opportunity to try new things. Just wish it was slightly less expensive.

I got the Sautéed Tilapia Filet.
Came out at a good decent time.
The tilapia was extremely tasteful, but had too much of the sauce. It was slightly over cooked, but still on the good side.
But the pickle from my girlfriend’s buffalo crispy chicken sandwich was bomb.

There are two great vegan options on the menu here, and also a vegan side dish. My favorite is the Garden Veggie Burger. It has sunflower sprouts and a veganaise aioli sauce that make it divine. As a new vegan, this place has become a lifesaver on campus.
Not always the cleanest (especially outside where it looks like they haven’t wiped the salt and pepper shakers down in ages), sometimes a really long wait. But when there is a long wait to get your food they still manage amid the chaos to get it out relatively quickly.

The service was pretty good; however, the food was bland and pretty dry.

I love the Barn. I really don’t have anything negative to say about it other than the wait around 12 SUCKS and they usually get something wrong, but since they have students working, you have to figure that’s going to happen. The food is fantastic and they always fix immediately whatever may have gone wrong, and then some. Highly recommended. Just get there at 11:30! Wait… No, Get there at 12. I’ll get there at 11:30!

UCR’s finest! Literally. It’s the best thing you can have on campus. To be honest, that’s not saying too much, but the food is pretty damn good, though not exceptional. The choices are pretty standard (burgers, wraps, salads, etc.), but from what I’ve had (which is about half the menu), everything has been tasty and filling. Make sure to pair your fries with their jalapeño ketchup and their salads with their house dressing. Some of my best UCR memories have been here; aside from their food, I’ve come for work events, work banquets, and The Barn Series which are weekly shows put on by KUCR (I’ve seen Murs, Little Dragon, People Under the Stairs, Milo Greene, Gardens and Villa, Ron Funches, Al Madrigal, just to name a few…). So yeah, it’s a bit underutilized due to it being on the corner of campus, but definitely worth the extra walk.
