Sometime around mid 2015 (perhaps earlier) the wheels fell off this place. I’m not sure if there a management change and/​or they lost key employees but the food and service are terrible now. The drive thru line takes forever even if your the only car in line! Often times the person at the window isn’t even wearing a uniform or looks disheveled. Missing items, wrong items, cold food and slow service are common place here. It’s too bad since it’s the only fast service Mexican food place in area. If that ever changes this location will shut down.

Sometime after the first half of 2014 this place went bad. Before then, it was great. But since then service has been slow, the food quality dropped dramatically, half the time the orders are wrong and my desire to stop in has dropped to zero.
Maybe all the new restaurants in the area have stolen all the good workers leaving this location with the employees nobody else will hire; maybe management has changed; maybe they don’t pay enough to keep good employees. Regardless, I don’t know and don’t care anymore. I have given them way more chances than I have given others and now I’m done.
Won’t be coming back to Roanoke Taco Bueno.

This location is absolutely filthy. Stopped in at 7:00 PM on a Friday night and every single vacant table inside was disgusting. If this is the condition and cleanliness of the area the customers can see I cannot imagine what the food preparation area must be like. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place unless you want to risk getting a severe case of «Montezum’s revenge».

Terrible drive through service, and they always mess up the order. This is the second time I’ve been stuck in their line for almost 30 minutes. Tonight’s order was shy two items. No Bueno!

To get a decent rating, a Mexican food restaurant must have crisp, fresh chips. Ours tasted like they were made three days before and not even reheated. Yuk. The rest of the food was fresh and good — the reason for 2 stars. Get on top of the chip problem, and my rating will go up a star. I will try this place 2 more times and revise my review if it improves. If it does, then I am a repeat customer.

The food was really good retro Taco Bell. The only thing I didn’t like too much was the rice. It wasn’t the tomato based Mexican rice, more like Spanish rice. The tacos and their beans were spectacular though. Very nice people working there.

Wow! I’ve been having a bad morning. .running around like a crazy person. …running without breakfast. And I am a BIG breakfast person! !!! I was in a rush to an appt and needed to stop for a bite to eat before. .so, I stopped at Taco Bueno. I must share, the staff here are the MOST COURTEOUS I have ever encountered! !! They asked my name when taking my order and continued to address me by name throughout my short visit. The mgr even cane to check on me if my food was satisfying AND took my empty tray!!! I watched then interact with other customers and they were just as courteous to everyone who walked in the door. I was mostly impressed with the female Caucasian mgr who spoke Spanish to the group of Mexicanos that came in. Kudos !!! KUDOS. .kudos! !! To the entire team on June 12th 2015 around 11am!!! You also put me in a wayyyy better mood just being around the positive vibes!!!

This has to be the cleanest Taco Bueno I’ve ever been to! An employee was consistently cleaning the salsa bar and service was friendly.

I ordered a salad bowl with steak (which was mostly dry and chewy) and instead of dressing, cilantro and lime (the cilantro was used as lettuce, as in WAY to much for an herb and the lime was very heavy, in other words, there’s no thought in how they prepare food). It’s a nice building but from what I ordered, I won’t be trying it again soon.
