Cupcake Station

I always stop at The Cupcake Station when I’m in Rochester Hills, I get some coffee and a small treat. This place never disappoints, from friendly and outgoing staff, these people know their cupcakes, to their variety. Vegan cupcakes are the best, but they only make 6 per day! Good luck getting one.
Much to my surprise they have «Pupcakes» yes cupcakes for dogs! I had to get one for my doggie.
I love their lemon coconut, red velvet and champagne flavors, but you can’t go wrong with any of them, really.

So good! My wife brought home a dozen cupcakes from Cupcake Station for my birthday. I had three of them — all of them were super good. The chocolate chip cookie dough cupcake was the standout favorite. I also had a Red Velvet and Cookies & Cream one that were also both pretty good.

Cupcakes can be very divisive. I for one don’t care for Sprinkles cupcakes, others love them. However, Cupcake Station was just ok and didn’t have anything gourmet, in my opinion. Maybe it was the day (Saturday afternoon), maybe it was the time of year (holidays and they go with the basics instead of the fancy, schmancy kind), I don’t really know.
It was nice that we could sit at a table in the middle of a Saturday, I’m used to Molly’s that has a line out the door half the time.
My friend’s daughter wants her birthday cake from here, so I’ll be back in April to see if the cakes are more to my liking.

Cupcake station is located right in downtown Rochester. When first walking into cupcake station you immediately notice how clean and well maintained the store is kept. The variety is unbelievable any flavor of freshly baked and iced cupcakes sure to satisfy any tastebuds!
They have two sizes to choose from small and regular. The small sized cupcakes give the consumer the option to «try» a specific flavor that might look interesting just not interesting enough to fully commit to a regular sized version. Trying 10 small cupcakes instead of 3 large sized cupcakes is a great way to experience the variety that’s being offered, it’s really a good touch to the concept. All the cupcakes are uniquely designed with different shapes and colors used for the frosting. The only thing is the coffee selection! A good quality cup of coffee would go great with these cupcakes!

Good cupcakes, helpful and friendly service and a great lineup of cupcakes to fulfill any craving.
Season favorites are on a rotation, making you want to revisit to see what’s new. Clean and welcoming location and smiling faces greet you.
What more can you ask for?

I went there yesterday. I picked up a 6pack of cupcakes in assorted flavors. The price was kind of high. The shop it self was cute, the woman that helped me was friendly. The cupcakes were very pretty and decorated nicely. The cupcakes have a chemical aftertaste to them though. The frosting was very grainy and had an oily mouth feel. They must use shortening in their «buttercream», which in my opinion, isn’t buttercream. In a pinch I might go back, but I like my cake to not taste like chemicals and my frosting to be actual buttercream.
