The Home Bakery

Just took my son in with me to select Paczki. The taste is better than a grocery store Paczki. But not stellar. Filling to donut ratio is off. However when I was done paying ($ 18 for 8) I said «thank you» to the woman that was assisting me. She said nothing. Looked me in the eye. Did not hand me my box. Did not reply. So very rude!!! Said nothing to me during the whole process other than «how many». Don’t think I’ll be back.

First time using our beloved Home Bakery since it switched ownership. I am beyond impressed with the MOST beautiful mermaid cake they made for my daughter’s first birthday. It was too pretty to eat — but just as delicious as it was pretty. And the little smash cake to go with it… picture perfect! They were great to work with and exceeded my expectations. Thanks, Home Bakery, for making my birthday girl’s cake so very special.

Great bakery with delicious options to choose from. Their wedding cakes are also beautiful and taste like heaven!

Tonight I desperately tried to get to the bakery to get my husband a birthday cake after work. The lights in the bakery were on and there were 3 – 4 employees in the store. I was disappointed to find that I was shy by 3 minutes of closing. What made things more disappointing is that when the employees heard me try the door, they all looked and and then quickly averted their gazes because they didn’t want to help me. The product was not even pulled off the shelves yet. So much for customer service. I love supporting small local stores, but I expect customer service in return. A simple smile with «sorry we are closed» would have been nice. Exceptional service would mean opening the door to a woman running in the rain to desperately get a cake for a birthday.

Words cannot describe how heavenly their desserts and sweet treats are. Their cronuts are out of this world! Definitely worth every delicious bite!

Buying local is the best choice and The Home Bakery in the oldest building in Rochester is my choice. What an array of yummy pastries, cakes and all sorts of fresh made pies to order. I got a chocolate cannoli and a delectable napolian. I was offered to taste a sample of several of their finest desserts. The almond croissant was the bomb. That will be my next choice. This will my go bakery from now on.

Love, love, love. This is my favorite bakery. The cakes are delicious — and the possibilities are endless when it comes to the design. They are truly artists. What they can create out of cake and buttercream blows my mind. The pastries are to die for and the «Homenuts» are out of this world. Yummy fresh baked bread too. The only bread I buy! Oh and did I mention they have kronuts??? Sugary, buttery, flaky croissant dough filled with vanilla bean pastry cream — pure heaven. Stop by The Home Bakery — you will not be disappointed.

Our wedding cake was made here. Our Fat Tuesday doughnuts. Our weekly bread visit. This bakery had it all and they do an amazing job at all of it. The store is simple, clean and bright.

I will never order anything from here again. I ordered cupcakes from them for my bridal shower and they were disgusting. They were the stalest cupcakes I have ever tasted and I was mortified. I unknowingly served these stale cupcakes because I had just picked them up.

I just had to write a review about the new owners and employees at the Home Bakery! It’s night and day the customer service we received this past weekend when ordering our sons birthday cake. They said they would do whatever I wanted and were so helpful! We ordered our wedding cake from here and the employees were rude and anything but helpful. They made the wedding cake experience so stressful and I swore I wouldn’t give them anymore of my money. But when I heard they got bought out, I gave them a second try and I am so glad I did! Bravo getting rid of the rude woman and bringing in employees that actually care what we have to say as customers! I will be using The home bakery here on out for all my future events!

I have to say their cookies are good. My son and my step daughter loves them. They do a good job decorating them and making them look attractive. But for cakes? Once again they do a good job making them look good but it doesn’t taste as good. I’ve seen better.

The best place to go in town! Delicious latte’s and out of this world treats. Great find!

So apparently the bakery got bought out! Ordered my cake months ago, got a call 2 days before party that they couldn’t do my cake as ordered!!! Won’t ever go back!

My first time there (I try to avoid cake) was last week. It was wonderful. I can’t stop thinking about it. Okay, so I have a problem, but it was really good and the service was fab. Couldn’t have been nicer. Did I mention the cake was delicious?

We started ordering cakes at Home Bakery 10 years ago and have been ordering almost twice a year since.
Our wedding cake was perfect and every birthday cake we’ve ordered for our kids have been great.
The designer (s) always makes a theme come to life and I always look forward to their beautiful work.
I would highly recommend them.

These guys did an absolutely fabulous job on our 3 wedding cakes! They looked gorgeous and tasted amazing! 2 of our cakes were rather simple: 1 single cake and 1– 3 tiered cake with spackle-​decorated buttercream frosting but our 3^rd cake was much more intricate and they were able to reproduce the picture that I brought them to perfection. I was really impressed! Tiffany was super helpful and lovely when we came in for our tasting and every time we had to call her on the phone to make changes or payments. We really liked working with her! We were also shocked by the price too (in a good way!)
Their flavors were great too. Our favorites were the Cherry Chip cake & chocolate cake with peanut butter mousse filling. Yikes! We can’t wait until our 1 year anniversary when we can come back into town and order another cake to celebrate!

Cookies are great!

I went in to order a wedding cake. I only need a 6 inch cake for my fiancé and I, I ordered cupcakes elsewhere. I can not believe how rudely I was treated. Once she found out I ordered cupcakes elsewhere, she obviously had no interest in helping me. She walked away from me 3 times, and I had to keep trying to get her attention to ask her more questions. SHe was not able to give me any estimate of a cake, and told me to «Look in a book» for a design. I have also heard from others that they are very pricy, and raised their prices recently.
Unfortunately, they lost my business!!!

My fave! We have been ordering cakes for milestone occasions from the Home Bakery for as long as I can remember. High school graduations, wedding showers, baby showers … you name it!
We ordered our wedding cake from here — it was exactly as we imagined it. Beautiful looking and delicious tasting. I also ordered a small cake just like our wedding cake for our first anniversary. YUM! Got the birthday cake for my son’s first birthday here, too. They did a great job of working with me on my Very Hungry Caterpillar theme. The cake was adorable & delicious. Got a little smash cake, too. :) So cute!
When we are in town, we stop in for a little treat. This week, we got an amazingly yummy cinnamon roll for me and super cute duck sugar cookie for my little guy. He was so excited for his «special treat!»
So, it definitely costs more than the Costco sheet cake, people! But this is the real deal. It’s worth the extra money for special occasions!

I tried a lot of places around for cookies, cakes, cupcakes, everything chocolate and so far this one is my fav. love the cakes and the cupcakes but seems like the cupcakes are getting smaller other than that very friendly staff, great sweets!
