An absolute hidden gem in a back alley of downtown Rochester. There is simply no better almond croisant anywhere — including Paris, I’ve compared! The bread is delicious — and my favorite indulgence is the ham and asiago croisant! Also — the ladies that work behind the counter are so sweet and kind.

My favorite place in Rochester! We come here all the time, and everything is always outstanding. Their fresh baked breads and croissants are the best. Super friendly staff as well.

We enjoy their almond croissants and coffee as well as almost anything else they offer. The place has only 3 to 4 tables, but the staff are always friendly and the pastries exquisitely prepared.

Read all the reviews from Unilocal and I had a chance to stop by today to try your breads and pastries. Got confused with the location at first, but truely a hidden gem! Tried the brownies and almond croissant… so yummy! Can’t wait to go back for more soon!

This is my favorite bakery. The pastries are beautiful and delicious. The lady who works behind the counter couldn’t be nicer. It is also a perfect place to sit down with a cup of coffee and an almond croissant. Everything I have purchased from the bakery has been fresh and delicious. It’s a little difficult to find because it backs up to a wine store on Rochester Rd. The bakery faces the back parking lot. Make sure if you buy bread to get a bread card.

I took my son to go grab one of their famous Almond Croissants, a cookie for him and we brought back my husband a «wheat free» Walnut Cookie. We were impressed with all of our items. I was hoping for more Gluten Free items, since I noticed someone posted about GF breads being available. The atmosphere is something I would imagine out of Europe as someone else also mentioned. I definitely look forward to going back and trying out some more of their baked goods. I do wish they were open on Sundays to grab some of those croissants for brunch.

This is my cup of tea! Bread, cakes, pastries and cookies are soo good. Much better price compared to the other bakery on main street. The Almond Croissant here are so far — the best in town! I’ve been to Paris and I think the atmosphere and the quality of the baked goods here really compares to the little bakeries all over the streets in Paris. Definitely a five star!

Best bakery outside of Europe… and probably even including Europe. It’s impossible to find bread and pastries that are crafted using the techniques and practices of Give Thanks. The authentic artisan bread is made over three days without the use of yeast, and the result is a complex flavor and texture that you can’t find anywhere else. You must go there!

The almond croissant is the real deal. A slice of heaven on earth. The breads looked fabulous. I bought the sour dough for some toast with my breakfast coffee. Very happy with my choice, I like it better than Panera. I can’t recall friendlier service and more genuinely nice people than Give Thanks bakery. I can’t believe it took me so long to find this treasure. I will be back, and often.

Excellent all around. We used to get our cakes at another local bakery, but tried Give Thanks when the other place raised their prices. I am so glad that we did! For my mother’s 60th birthday, I requested a round cake with a knitting theme and they did EXACTLY what I asked them for down to the last detail. Because this is a European bakery, the cakes are less sweet than what you would find elsewhere, but I prefer it that way. In addition to the quality work, they employees are so nice. They are patient with children and just so sweet. I really can’t say enough good things about The Give Thanks Bakery.

The best croissants I have ever had. What a little gem of Rochester! Try the almond variety of croissants. I eat very healthy and exercise tons, but this place makes the most deserving guilty pleasures.

This is by far the best bakery that I have ever been to. Service is great, quality of food is top notch. From gluten free breads that are baked fresh everyday, to bacon croissants and delicious pastry. 2 almond croissants, bacon and cheddar croissant, and one scone with cranberry and walnuts with 2 coffees was 17 $. One the expensive side, but 100% worth it! Check it out, you won’t be dissapointed.

This place could be a whole reason for living. Authentic doesn’t even begin to cover it as I’m sure they could hold their own against bakeries I’ve visited in France and Belgium. We loved the apple danish and the ham and cheese croissant. The scones were glorious and the almond croissant was literally the best I’ve ever had. Just as I was paying, the chef brought out a tray piled high with cheddar chive biscuits, still warm and smelling like all that is good in the world. Totally worth finding this place(note that you have to enter from the back of the building, basically from the alley)

Best bakery I’ve ever been to. Great breads, great desserts. I’ve never been able to get a table, so always just take my food to go. I’ve tried nearly everything there, and everything is good. I have a German background, and can understand if some people don’t like some of the decidedly German desserts… but there is still enough for everyone here. Oh, and although the owners are heavily German and are difficult to understand, they are extremely nice, polite, and will go out of their way to help you. What a gem.

Just moved home from Germany and was craving a great croissant and a proper cappuccino. I was pleased to find both at this bakery! This bakery is my new favorite place! It reminds me so much of Europe. I cannot wait to try more! LOVED the café feel. While I wish they were open 24⁄7 their hours are like any other bakery in Europe. Not open all day. Truly thankful for this local business! I’m home!
