I love this place. Its so nice and cozy and some days it’s perfect for just hanging out with a few friends and other days you can talk with new people. The décor is always so cute and the drinks are delicious! Love it!

I have never been a big fan of this gay establishment. When you first walk in you are encouraged to walk straight and order before sitting down. There are couches that a lot of people sit on and I can only imagine the scabies that might be enjoying the company of patrons. One might wonder why I come here, the only reasons are if some ask me to go with them here for a drink or to support a gay own business. As a result, I only visit this establishment a couple of times a year; I prefer starbucks!

We went there on a Saturday afternoon and had an Americano coffee and a masala tea. pleasant atmosphere. The studious patrons did not mind the laughter coming from our table. very comfortable. I I look forward to going back

I always come here for the vanilla chai smoothie and hot vanilla chai, it’s absolutely amazing. The atmosphere is always relaxing and there are often fun events/meetings taking place. It’s also a local business and gay-owned so I will ALWAYS support them. The only thing that bothers me is the customer service. I always try to be positive and polite to the barista, and 9 times out of 10 I’m met with shortness and unpleasantness. I know it gets busy and overwhelming and often there is only 1 person working, but I feel like this is an area they could work on.

The atmosphere was very nice and there was a range of seating options. I enjoyed one of the comfy couches. They also had some outlets available and wifi free with a purchase(you have to ask them for the password). I ordered a lemon cake slice and it was very large yet cheap! It tasted good and had a nice moist and dense consistency, but was probably a larger portion than I should have eaten – you could definitely take home a bit of leftovers to finish off later. I also had a vanilla chai latte and it was very good, though a little sweet for my tastes. Overall, I enjoyed relaxing with my warm drink and some cake and will probably return to try something else on the menu.

Equal Grounds is a truly wonderful space! Everyone is super friendly, and it is a warm and inviting space to hang out with friends, do a little work, read a book, or host a little event. They have a great selection of loose leaf teas that’ll warm your heart even on the coldest Rochester days!

Their breakfast egg sandwiches are great, as was the mocha. We also got their chicken salad(salad with chicken on it, not the kind made from chicken with mayo and other stuff), and it was simple but good. The banana nut muffin, though, was gross.(If that were the only thing I got here, the place would have gotten maybe 2 stars — it tasted like chemicals/made in a factory, and was overly sweet. Yuck.)

Perfect little study spot. Atmosphere is very chill, plenty of seating for studying or getting some work done. There is also a large couch if you want to relax there on a Sunday afternoon. You should defiantly try some of their seasonal drinks. They have delicious apple cider during the fall, and fun themed drinks during the year. There is also a discount with student ID! Small lot of parking, and plenty of street parking on the side of the road.

LOVE this place! The staff is friendly and the service is great. I love going there to write and relax. The food is good if limited, but I love their sodas!

OK, I know that it is a locally-owned and gay-owned business, but, man, if you’re gonna sell coffee, at least serve a DECENT cup of coffee! Jeez, the dish-water they served us today was nothing short of awful! Add to that the often«colorful»(i.e., borderline crazy.) local characters and the scuzzy-looking furniture(seriously, shampoo the damn stuffed chairs! They are disgusting!!), makes me wonder how they stay in business.

Not entirely happy with this place right now. Drove all the way here from Buffalo to bring an out-of-state friend. Ordered 2 French Vanilla coffees, they were extremely weak. Bought 2 Italian Roast coffees to make up for it. 4 cups and 10 bucks later one of the employees thought it would be super cute to dust right next to us resulting in an army of dust bunnies flying into our drinks. Well that was a complete waste!

Love this place. I’m proud that Rochester has a PRIDE-friendly coffee shop with so much going on. They host game nights and always have games available.(isn’t it so much easier to connect over a game of bananagrams?) The place has two rooms so one is more quiet for studying and one for socializing. The tea selection is vast. The bakery stuff is great. I love when a place has pie! I could use more vegan options Their internet doesn’t cut in and out like Boulders so it’s a more reliable study spot. Cozy seating options. The friendliest staff 5 $ credit card minimum

Opens late! Eclectic coffee shop. every day the music is different. sells mugs that are actually used to get a discount on your drinks not just buying a mug for the sake of the mug. has lots of tables for studying and couches. if you pay you can use wifi $ 5 min for credit cards.

A pretty nice coffee joint in the Wedge. It’s focus is on being welcoming to all. They offer everything you’d expect at a coffee shop in this neighborhood: funky people, eclectic art and coffee that has been roasted locally(although in Rochester technically Tim Horton’s would fit that bill). It’s a good venue for a breakfast event. There is limited parking behind the building though I never use it. I save it for those who need it more.

Love the ambiance. Ask for less sugar in your chai tea if you don’t like sweets. I diluted mine 50:50 and the iced chai tastes amazing. Spacey, I like.

A free Saturday afternoon with nothing to do, still too chilly for outdoor activities… what to do? The perfect solution to get out of the house was to spend some Q-T in a coffee shop reading. I have a stack of books next to my bed that I’ve been trying(not so hard) to work my way through. I chose this past Saturday as the day to scour through a few dozen pages on a cozy couch with a chai in hand. Equal Grounds was the perfect spot to spend my free afternoon. The shop is filled with lots of seating, funky décor, good people watching when I needed a break from staring at the pages of my book. It’s a pretty big space so I’m sure there’s always a spot open. I like that they have something for everyone with a variety of larger tables, individual tables, couches and comfy chairs(although a few look a little worn in). After waiting my turn at the corner, I ordered a small spiced chai late(~$ 3) that was speedily handed to me in a mug and I found a spot to read the day away while customers came and went. Free wifi for paying customers, which means I may be a frequent visitor on those days I need to work out of the house. Plus some tasty looking sandies for lunch-time hunger pangs.

Sitting in one of the front window nooks of Equal Grounds with the sun pouring in and a vanilla chai latte to sip on, I’m having a good Friday. Since I live just down the street I try to frequent this business. I always receive warm, friendly, and speedy service. Have only tried their drinks, not any food, but am always pleased with the quality. Reasonable prices, too. A great, welcoming space to have in the South Wedge and the Rochester community. Also, free wifi and lots of board games.
