sadly I had my first bad Starbucks experience here the other day! The employees were pleasant and fast(which a mom always is happy about)! However, once I got back to my car I had time to notice how light my cup felt. I opened it and my grande was, kid you not, half full. I’ve been shorted before but HALF ?! Needless to say– I don’t think I should pay +$ 4 for not even the amount of a tall. I’ve never been so disappointed by a coffee shop before.

Things to Know: –They do have outlets with power for plugging in laptops. –Across the street from the main Mayo building. As such, employees are constantly coming and going for drinks, and a lot of people tend to get a drink and sit here and wait between appointments. Seating isn’t impossible, bu it may not be available. –NODRIVETHRU. There’s no nearby easy parking either. You’d need to use a parking garage. This is not a great location if you just want drive-thru coffee while going through Rochester. –It has an entrance from inside a hotel as well as from the street. Lots of people with luggage that you might need to navigate around. Be prepared for a line, but it isn’t going to be the worst line you’ve ever been through. The staff here is CONSTANTLY under a rush, so even if you see 5+ people, know that it’s going to take less time than if you saw 5+ people at another Starbucks. On that note, however, this Starbucks was not designed for these lines. Any sort of line starts to get in the way of the actual entrances and traffic through the area. It’s annoying. If Starbucks ever remodels, they really need a lot larger line areas and waiting-for-drinks areas. Got my drink right, and it was less than 5 minutes with 10+ people in line. It was comfortable to sit and use my laptop for work waiting for someone at Mayo. I can’t complain too much.

I’m a Starbucks guy; I’ll proudly admit that. Coffee at any of the locations in Rochester, MN is what you’d expect from Starbucks: best caffeine inducing pick-me-up to start your slog through the work day. The reason this review loses a star? None of the locations here in Rochester are«corporate», which means that not all of their promotions will be honored. Now I’m fully aware that I write this deep in the heart of Caribou territory, where the whipped cream and chocolate syrup run thicker than the espresso, but seriously. It looks like duck, flaps like a duck, quacks like a duck, yet Isn’t a duck? ???

I am a huge starbucks fan! I absolutely love every single aspect of starbucks, the environment, the drinks, their rewards program, and their overall customer service. Having said that, my «visit’ at this starbucks was unacceptable. I arrived at the store at 5:08 pm on a Thursday(4÷23÷2015) night and all the doors were locked and the gate was pulled down at the Kahler entrance indoors. I was baffled. There was a barista inside… I checked the hours posted online through and google and it distinctly said 5:30 pm. Obviously, the person closing wanted to get home early. This is unacceptable. When I used to close at a customer service position, I would close my doors at 5:01 pm if my posted close time was 5:00pm. The barista could have easily made more drinks(and sales) during those 20 minutes before close. I wish there were more starbucks in downtown rochester, mn and that the hours were open beyond 5:00 pm for not only visitors of patients at Mayo, but also the healthcare employees themselves that have to work long hours. Ofcourse, it would also be nice if the current starbucks would stay open when promised.

These workers are more interested in chatting about their personal lives, instead of getting drinks to customers. 20 min wait on coffee, not doin that again.

They get 3 stars for being quick. Two days in a row here and two wrong drinks. Barista is great… it is the guy at the register who doesn’t pay attention. It’s not life or death but it IS a $ 6 coffee. I expect them to get it right.

Starbucks is a Starbucks is a Starbucks… for the most part. The employees here are super-friendly, though. And that makes a difference. They’ve got a nice seating area here, too. A BLOCK away from Mayo — so if you’re visiting mayo and need your fix, it’s totally within walking distance!

HOPPEDUP. Sure this is just another Starbucks in the chain wrapping around the world replacing the words small, medium, large with tall, grande, venti. But what makes this Starbucks stand out is that it is located in a high traffic hotel in downtown Rochester near the Mayo Clinic and it provides the FASTEST service ever. No joke. Don’t fear the line cause you’ll be outta there in no time! Highlights: FAST Service Coffee Starbucks = Express Espresso

It’s Starbucks. If you have been to a few other Starbucks coffee houses, you have been to this one.
