You walk in and… you may feel transported into your grandmother’s kitchen. You also may look around at the décor and find that it is very outdated but nostalgic at the same time. Anyways, they were selling locally grown asparagus bunch and make homemade pies. I tried the Apple pie and it was more apples than crust which I really appreciated. Got the Friday fish fry, Canadian Walleye, which was lightly breaded and very good. Kind of skimpy on the veggies that came with it, but the potatoes pancake was wonderful. It was very good and we got to meet Sheri herself! We also noticed the waitresses kids were eating dinner there. That is def. a good sign. It seems this restaurant is not as unhealthy as some of the restaurants around the Rockford area

Nice family country-style restaurant. Lunch is very slow; I was the only customer. The broccoli cheddar soup was good with large chunks of broccoli and real cheddar flavor. The rueben sandwich was cheesy and hot with nice blend of flavors from the sauerkraut and russian dressing. Be sure that when you order the potato pancakes, have them cook them a little longer, because they’re made with a batter and tend not to be cooked all the way. Just have them toast it a little more under the boiler. They’re happy to do it for you. They have a bunch of homemade pies, but I did not get any.
