Ashley’s of Rockledge

This place could be great. The food is pretty good. It’s the atmosphere that is most surprising. I equate this place to a biker bar sans motorcycles. Not the judgmental type but we ate our meal on the back deck, I’m pretty sure I smoked a pack of cigarettes and I don’t even smoke. The hype about the death that occurred on the premises could be a marketing ploy to bring in the tourists but I definitely get a vibe about the place reminiscent of a Goosebumps story.

I have been coming here since 1997. I love this place!!! The food is really good and priced right. They try to make everything from scratch. They make their own bleu cheese dressing and it is the best! I usually get their prime rib, rare, and they have never delivered anything but rare. The stuffed mushrooms were a little small, probably won’t order those again, but everything else was fantastic. Their drinks have always been made right and I’ve never had to complain about anything.

Don’t bother. The uniqueness of the haunted stories and good prices shouldn’t fool you. We were greeted by rude waitstaff that were unpleasant, unfriendly and impatient because we didn’t know what we wanted to order 2 minutes after sitting down. We were seated by the unkind host who was rude about taking our drink orders and was annoyed because he didn’t know what Kendall Jackson Chardonnay was so he had to write it down. The server was rude and stopped by 4 times in maybe 7 minutes to take our order when we clearly had no drinks and just opened our menus. When she took our order it was prompted with «let’s try this again.» With all that rushing you’d think we would have received our food in less than 40 minutes… Then the host and our server left the check at two different times, and she made sure to pick up the signed check within a minute so she could close it out. Didn’t see her again after that. The food was bland and they didn’t bother to bring anything requested (side of mayo, the au jus that was supposed to come with the French dip, and God forbid we ask for water refills.) Won’t be coming back here, thanks Ashley’s, we’d been looking forward to visiting a neat place with great reviews for months. What a disappointment.

Food is four star, outstanding. What ruins the experience is the staff. It’s all about them and not the customer. Been hear a dozen plus times and it’s only the food that brings me back but I am wavering. The bartenders spend all their time counting receipts, and talking amongst themselves and ignore the customers. When they bring a drink it’s thrown on the bar and then it’s back to counting receipts and then disappearing to the back. This is not a one time thing, it’s the majority of our visits. Very poor and unwelcoming, such a shame for a great place.

The bartenders have no idea how to make drinks I got a martini and had too much salt, the mushrooms appetizer was so small and not flavorful at all. Then I got the strawberry margarita and it was only strawberry sauce nothing else. I ordered the five layer turkey sandwich could not even eat the bread, and to top it all off they charge extra for fries and give you lays chips instead how cheap not worth the money don’t go in my opinion.

This is a great little place that’s been around for quite some time. For being a small, independently owned place in Rockledge, it’s a great place for a beer and the food is right on. The wait staff is quick and friendly and the key lime pie is a must try.

We dined at Ashleys Restaurant tonight. The food was very good and the beer very cold. Our waitress was friendly and stayed on top of the service. Atmosphere was of a well established roadhouse with lots of history. Recommended!

Our 1^st time here. Started off with a cup of the clam chowder. Very flavorful with plenty of clams. We are clam chowder snobs and this one rates right up there on the top of our favorites. Next came out entrée… Black & bleu salad with blackened bourbon beef tips. OMG… Delish!!! Beef was tender and plentiful. Good mix of greens, tomatoes, onions and chunks of bleu cheese. Salad was so large I had to take ½ home! We will be back. Our server, Mike was great!
BTW…no ghost appearances but we will keep our eyes open! LoL

I had not been for a while but I unfortunately decided to take my family here for Father’s day this year. The waitress was very rude! When my dad asked about the specials she said «I have not had any time to look at them today». I understand she was probably busy but she did not even bother to check on them she just kept looking at my dad to hurry up and order. When asked about what sides they had she took the menu from my dad and pointed to the sides and said «There they are.» I don’t know if she was new or just had a rough day but I took my dad here for a Father’s day present and it was an embarrassment!

The food here is mediocre at best. have been there twice and was not impressed. Overated.

Their $ 2.99 breakfast special is amazing! Great atmosphere, kid friendly, good drink specials, good food.

The place was neat, has a haunted reputation. We ordered burgers, which were decent, also ordered haddock fish fry and the fish was huge! Strawberry shortcake was awesome. The staff was friendly enough and the place was clean. They have an upstairs which was cool, as well as outside eating area. They can accommodate large groups upstairs. It is situated right next to a train track so you do get the occasional train going by. A decent place to eat but nothing spectacular.

This used to be really good food, last two times I went made me decide not to go back. They still make some great salads but I used to go for their steak night on weds and the last two times they were not good at all, over maranaded so salty and weird texture. One in my party ordered it medium and got well done, waitress didn’t come back to check on us. when she finally came instead of saying sorry, and offering to get her something else put the check on the table with a charge for the salad and fries per item so it was almost the same price as if she had eaten her steak, bad move, customers lost over such a simple thing.

A big part of the 3 stars has to do with the looks of the place as well as the history. The lack of 5 stars is the service, it wasn’t horrible but it could have been alot better. I stopped by here because I happened to be in town for a quick stop. I remembered this cool looking place with a history of it being haunted and thought, great place to stop and take my family. I had been here many times before because almost 8 – 9 years ago a company I worked for serviced this place and I was in here about twice a week. I never had the opportunity to sit down and eat however it was always business. It was funny to come back and be greeted by one of the owners (a lady) who I remembered from those years. I’m sure she didn’t remember me now that I had grown out a beard that could compete with the best Muslim beards out there. Anyways, she gave me and my family a mini smile and helped us to our table. She seemed really occupied and it was maybe because she was working so hard to try and help out. However I do remember her from back in the day and she was never a friendly person to me, even though she would see me so often. Anyways, again nothing extremely friendly she and the waitress seemed really stressed trying to get orders taken. The stress was thick in there. We all ordered drinks, my wife asked for coffee. We also placed our orders and my wife asked for no cheese on her French onion soup. Time goes by, drinks come. Coffee never does. Food arrives and my wife’s French onion soup is loaded in cheese. Coffee never did arrive and we didn’t bother asking for it. The food was nice, nothing to remember though. The worse part is two different people were told about the coffee and both forgot. As we were leaving one of the servers saw we had an interest in the place as we walked towards the exit and stayed looking around. She shared some info on the place and it’s history and told my son to go to the wall and look at the pictures that had been taken that support the whole haunted stories of the restaurant. My wife and son were over there looking when a different server/​waitress comes by and definitely made it known that we were in her way although we had been there for probably less than 20 seconds. She said she was trying to clean up and get ready for the next rush. Where? I don’t know. We were there after lunch and way before dinner. I know they are trying to keep things original but the bathroom, at least the men’s needs some work. There was some type of garden hose in there for some reason looking like it was ready to drain something into the standing urinal. I don’t regret coming, Ashleys has a unique look to it and it’s something worth stopping by for. I know people make mistakes but you forget the coffee and then forget the specific request of no cheese it reminds me again of how busy you are there. Too busy to even engage in a friendly interaction or to listen to what your paying customer asks for. The rude lady at the end was strike 3. I would probably go back to Ashleys someday but I would bring my own Bustelo, a hit of Ginkgo Biloba for whoever takes our order and a balloon for the server who was never shown love.

I got veins in my ribs. Big, thick arteries. I’m turned off from ribs for a long time. Our server was also one of the only times I’d ever seen a server be rude for no reason. I was appalled. I have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant. She ran out of mini plates for the bread for our party, said «oh, that sucks,» and never came back with more plates, made nasty comments when I didn’t understand the special, and then everyone’s food came out at different times.

The food here is absolutely terrible.
The ONLY two things I can think of that keep this place in business are 1. nostalgia and 2. ghost stories.
Do not go here for a good meal, though.

My husband and I love going to Ashley’s, good food, good atmosphere and great price. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Ashley ’ s is one of our favorite restaurants in the Cocoa area. The food is good and inexpensive. We usually have the same server, Trish, and couldn’t be happier.
Ashleys has recently added Sunday breakfast. It’s definitely worth a try for yourself.

Visiting the area we stopped in. They had a special with a Mahi sandwich. My husband ordered it and they had already run out. There was barely anyone there. He settled for the French Dip that was «ok» he said. We tried the Jalapeño poppers… they don’t know how to do those. They were fairly pathetic.
I had the fish tacos. The fish was good but there was little else in the tortilla. But the beer was cold! I would not go back.

We waited at the door for a few minutes until we were greeted and then seated upstairs. There are lots of places to sit (outside, 1^st floor, 2^nd floor).
I ordered the Cajun salmon special with mango salsa which came with 2 sides. When it came out, there was a sprinkle of salsa on top and some bad looking pieces of broccoli =(The fries were OK, more of a thick flat cut and a little greasy.
My dad ordered the black and blue salad and said the sauce on the meat was a little too sweet. It could’ve also used a hair more blue cheese crumbles. My sister got the fish tacos which had an overpowering odd sauce.
The food was not bad for the price but with the presentation and service, may not make this a stop my next time to Florida. Considering we were one of the only parties in the restaurant, it took awhile (25 minutes or so) for our food to come.
