I read these reviews and they’re completely out of their mind. This the best local BBQ joint in rockwall. Sauce is tangy and CFS is huge. They’re hours are odd but charlies on the square is closed monday so giving a one star for the day they’re closed is a low blow.

worst lunch EVER. Salad was sitting next the Hot food. The ranch dressing was like water. CFS was like rubber. Potato salad was warm… unless that’s how it’s supposed to be? $ 40 for lunch? I wouldn’t do it again

The food here was good, but I was surprised at the environment. We came for dinner and checked the menu before we headed there. When we arrived, we were surprised with the line and menu on the wall above the serving area. Although the menu listed appetizers, I don’t know how that would have worked. There was no waiter, waitress or anything like that.

Food was ok, but the fox news broadcasting in both sitting rooms makes food hard to keep down. Not a memorable experience.

Oh my GOD. have the garlic potatoes… Everything at this place is good.Tip.If you want to order to go. We have found that they do not answer the phone during order early, and tell them what time you will pickup. Another tip… sometimes when you order late dinner for pickup. you get way more then you ordered. We have gotten salad with dressing, corn and lots more rolls and cornbread.

Went here to celebrate my mother in laws sisters birthday. The flavor of the food was impeccable and the service was absolutely top notch, but the temperature of the food was cooler than I would’ve liked. I’d definitely go back. If you want ribs though, call first.

Steak is indeed good. Not same marbling as certified Angus ribeye like saltgrass. But CM does their steaks right. Seasoning was delicious. Love their mash potatoes. Not a fan of anything else.

I love their steak! Better than saltgrass but miles! They are consistently good and never skips a beat when it comes to their delicious steak goodness. Truthfully, I haven’t had much else there because of my beef addiction however, I can also vouch for their awesome ribs and their unique BBQ sauce. Their sides are lacking in depth and flavor but who cares when the stars of the show shines so brightly! Go, walk, RUN to them and eat that steak!

I have mixed feelings. Cowboy mashed potatoes are to die for. My wife’s ribeye was on the rare side but not bleeding nice flavor and very tender. Mac and cheese was staffers like but good. My pulled pork tasted fresh and pulled recently. BBQ sauce is heavy on the molasses side with a slight coffee taste. To finish we got banana pudding… some how they managed to mess up banana pudding! Extremely artificially flavored. Tastes just like banana laffy taffy. I will come here again because for special price of $ 8.99 the pulled pork was great! Maybe take out with cowboy mashed potatoes!

Skip the barbecue, they serve the best burgers I’ve ever had!!! They give generous portions, we all leave full! Kind of expensive but worth it if you want good food!

Do not eat here. Very dirty place. After getting my food sat down to eat by window blinds had ½ inch dirt in them. And window ledges had dead flies. Food was served like slop on a plate all thrown together. I left my food sitting on table after seen dead flies and left and got my money back. Not a clean environment. Beware.

The steaks are the best in Texas! I would chose their grilled steak over III Forks, Capital Grill, etc any day. So much flavor! I wish they paid as much attention to their sides as they do their meat. The green beans have a weird fishy flavor and the salad bar is underwhelming. Also wish they had healthier side offerings – too many carbs!

My wife and I went here because we wanted BBQ and we liked them name of the place. When we walked in, we saw an advertisement for your daughter’s doctor. Funny. Anyway, the girl that took our order was very friendly and helpful. I asked if the sausage was greasy. She said«she thinks so» and asked if I wanted to see it. She went and got a link and showed us. We agree. A sample probably would have been a better idea. So, I went with the brisket, a vegetable that I don’t even remember what, and the Cowboy Potatoes. The brisket was good. However, the BBQ sauce was very vinegary. Yuck. The Cowboy Potatoes — OUTSTANDING. They were so good that I’d go back just for them. My wife, saw the sign that said catfish on Fridays. It was Friday. The girl at the counter recommended it. My wife loves both me and catfish. So she ordered it, a side salad, and the Cowboy Potatoes. Again, the Cowboy Potatoes were incredible. And the catfish — YUMMY!!! Wow. Fresh and seasoned so good. Our recommendation? Go on Fridays and get the catfish and Cowboy Potatoes! Avoid the BBQ sauce if you get something besides the catfish.

Don’t waste your time and money eating here. Food was very depressing. Hamburger steak was a quarter pound frozen patty. One was burned completely black on the bottom The only menu in the place was a dirty menu taped to the counter at the cash register. Customer service was horrible and the waitress was rude. Should’ve gone out of business years ago.

Tried the ribs — definitely four star. The grilled chicken has as much flavor as grilled chicken ever does(i.e., not much) though they did their best. Of all things, my son got the coleslaw, and raved about how good it was. He ‘s not even a big coleslaw eater. Who woulda thunk?

Have driven by this joint since it opened, what about a year or so ago? Due to some of my son’s food intolerances, trying new places is pretty dodgy and the missus and I haven’t been out just the two of us in months. Decided to give the Feed Store a shot, we didn’t want anything fancy or expensive and hoped both could be achieved at this small hole in the wall joint. So, we are lucky and find a parking spot(the parking for this location is a known challenge, no points off, I get it). We head in and«rustic» would be a stretch to describe the interior. The food service area where the hot /cold items /side dishes are held seemed clean enough. The back walls and over the top of the grill /flat top are out-right atrocious and likely a hazard. I didn’t want to say anything, and am reticent here but… well it was past«well used» to «needs a power washing». The young lady behind the counter was great, extremely helpful and friendly. She knows the menu very well and delivered our food also. If I were to use one word, it would be sweetheart… Food, I reluctantly ordered the ribs in large part due to avoiding carbs. I got the greenbeans and pinto beans. The ribs were smoked, but seemed like they may have been carried over, lightly sliced and hit the grill with a light saucing. Overall, pretty damn good for a place that isn’t doing them as a specialty. I liked the sauce and I’m not big on sauce. The green beans were«ok», the pinto beans didn’t seem cooked long enough and weren’t seasoned particularly well. A representation of the best beans I’ve had in awhile were at Family Table, those are free and delicious. Missus got chicken fried steak, cowboy ranch potatoes(pretty darn good) and corn(typical). Chicken fried steak was frikking excellent, no gristle, perfectly fried and the gravy was solid(I’ve had better gravy though). Best CFS I’ve had in the Ar Dub, seriously, it was spot on and seasoned excellently. Portion was good sized as well. Not sure how soon we will be back, but we probably will.
