My favorite dive-burger joint in town. OK, OK; yes — I live in the neighborhood and know the family who runs it. But these burgers really are great! Good old greasy hamburgers cooked on a stove that is literally older than I am!(Ask Russell where it came from; it has quite the local history!). Plan to sit outside and visit with the licals while they cook it. Just slow down and enjoy the weather with a coke & bag of chips(no fries). But get there early, before they run out of meat. They shut down when the meat is gone!

Great burger. We’ve heard about this place for a long time and finally gave it a try. It’s a hole in the wall place that only does burgers. You can’t eat on the premises and they have a small assortment of chips and drinks on site,(cash only). If you read the reviews thinking your going there and can get fries, tots, or anything other than a hamburger/cheeseburger your sadly mistaken. You know when you get home and the bag is dripping your in for a good burger. I’m sad it took me this long to try it.

I have been trying to make it to this burger place for years! I was NOT disappointed! The burger was amazing! Not sure when j will be able to go back because of the hours, but will make the effort again!

The best double double with mayo in the world. Everyone needs to eat here at least once you will not be sorry!

Still for a hole in the wall it’s one of the best burgers. For cooking in s converted garage it’s the bomb. No fries or chicken burger or cheeseburger. The burgers are superb, and the wait isn’t too long.

It’s been years since I ate another Boots burger, still highest quality burger in Rockwall in my opinion. The aroma upon arrival at the counter was killing me softly. The double meat double cheese tastes as good as it smells. Comes with pickles, diced white onions, lettuce, mayo, a toothpick to keep everything from sliding(if you use it right). I like that he dices the onions, none of that ridiculous circle/ring cuts that gets dragged out with one bite, diced, sign of a good burger chef. The meat and cheese is not too salty, not bland, just perfect. Patties grilled til lean. But sure as heck did not start out lean. This tastes like a high fat to lean meat ground beef mix. The bottom bun is soaked with grease and butter. This makes it crunchy with each bite. The top bun is fluffy and soft, shimmering with fat from who knows what, but it’s damn good. I see a reviewer saying the burger is dry. You have got to be kidding me, she must have taken a wrong turn and arrived at some other burger place because Boot’s burgers will moisturize both hands in fat. Dry hands from the heater running at work? Boots’s burgers have you covered. I have never gotten dry patties from this place. It comes out well done though, don’t come here expecting some medium-rare connoisseur burger. Take your lap handkerchief elsewhere! You’ll get it wrapped in butcher’s paper, inside a brown lunch bag. I like that old fashioned feel. To end this, I’ll quote some lyrics, «The unsuspecting stranger, had better know the truth of wrong from right»

I’ve been wanting to try this place for years, but of course every time I have gone in the past I’ve picked a time that it was closed. Well I finally caught them open, and I have to say, while it was decent, it wasn’t near as good as I’d thought it was going to be. The burger was a little dry and overcooked for my taste. I guess if you like your burger well done, then you might like it.

I can’t put my finger on why these burgers are so delicious. There’s plain looking patty, ordinary looking cheese and buns, yet they are superb together. Tell everyone you know!

I was excited to try this placed based on the rave reviews. Wow, what a let down! –No fries or tots? Strike one. -$ 5 for a double-double? Strike two. –Non-juicy, rubbery dried out meat? Strike three! It wasn’t awful, but I don’t get the hype. What am I missing? Also, no credit cards. I just don’t know why you’d go here to get a very mediocre, Sonic quality burger when you could go somewhere like In-N-Out & get a good Double-Double(for less money too) or Five Guys where you can get some killer fries for a lot less hassle.

Well Gosh sakes it’s off the beaten path in a neighborhood and nothing fancy here but it’s a real yummy burger, chips in a bag, soda out of a machine, I’ll be back next time with my family!

I’ve been meaning to try this hidden gem for some time. It lived up to the reviews! The burger was delicious. The relish is really spicy if that’s what you want you will like it. I wish I could have gotten a fork and napkins at least but this is a extremely no frills place. You can buy drinks and chips on site but you can’t eat or drink anything there fyi. Overall I will definitely be back because the burger was really good! The experience is also unique and pretty cool!

This place is so great! My kids and I have been coming here at least once a week after finding this gem over summer. Prices are great, cash only. Friendly as fast as they can service. I say so because they are very popular and the phone is constantly ringing! The hamburgers are what you’ve always imagined at a good olé fashioned burger joint. Nothing fancy, just the basics. Also it is just the basics! Can soda machine for 75 cents and a bag of chips is what available. No sides nothing extra. Burger, soda, chips. Basic and delicious You will be surprised if you have never been here before when you’re pulling up to it. But it only adds to the charm :)

Best burgers I’ve ever had in my life. I have gone here to get burgers since I was a little girl. I am in love with this place and the man that owns it. I always used to beg my parents to get boots. I hope that they are still around when my kids are bigger so I can pass on the boots burger tradition!!! Love this place

I’ve been looking forward to going to this place for a while. Went one day 40 minutes before closing and they had run out of burgers. Decided to go one Monday then realized it was closed. Finally went early(20 minutes after opening) and it was already very busy so I just knew it was going to be good. I ordered the double double(double meat, double cheese) and was quoted it would be a 20 minute wait but I didn’t mind because it was going to be worth it. Well it was not worth it. I was so disappointed ! I don’t get what the hype is all about. The burger was average at best and lacked flavor. I also think they forgot to double the cheese. The people were friendly and it was a unique place to go but I won’t go back or recommend it.

Awesome local burger«shack», literally sits in the owner’s back yard. They are only open on weekends, and only until the meat is gone, so get there early. Best bet is to call in your order, as there is usually a long wait(people love this place). Take-out only, no dining area, so not much to speak of about atmosphere. But the burger is A+. I went ATW(all the way) w/hot relish, and a few bites in realized that I waited far too long to seek out this joint that all my friends have been telling me to try. Definitely recommend!!!

Best burgers consistantly. I’ve been coming for years and it’s always good. Call your order in ahead to avoid the wait. There will be a wait. They only do burgers. No fries, no onion rings, no bullshit. Just burgers done right. They do sell chips and there is an ancient coke machine that keeps cans extra cold. Yum.

The pinnacle in burgers. Such a surprise for Rockwall. Feels more like East Austin. I’m amazed their location in a residential neighborhood, more than that, in a back yard, isn’t a zoning violation. Must be grandfathered. Hopefully in perpetuity.

Lived in Rockwall 20 years & had never heard of Boots. I mostly hang south of I-30 and don’t visit the oldtown much so that might explain it in part. Anyway my kids came back from lunch eith these amazing –looking burgers. Total old school — a big greasy mess with all the stuff you want on a burger. I was actually sorry i’d eaten at Zanata’s instead! So today I made my kid show me where it is, and got me one — just a simple single cheeseburger. Man what a treat. They are definitely getting more business from me! Hands down the best burger in Rockwall.(I’m looking at YOU, Mooyah & In-n-Out). Why didn’t i give them 5 stars? Out of piqué at the fact they close in the early afternoon, forcing me to buy from a lesser establishment for my dinner. Ah well, Boots’ loss is Z’s Catfish’s gain.

I have had several burgers here and always liked them. Went here the other day and noticed they have raised their prices($ 5.00 for a double meat and cheese). I’m sorry, but the burgers just aren’t the holy grail like everyone thinks they are. Also, found a «beard hair» in my burger. Luckily it was near the last bite. I don’t like eating the DNA of another man.
