We had been waiting for this place for a while. We’ve eaten here many times since they opened. Have never had a bad meal. We go here for their roast beef. Great comfort food. Making a better roast than I can. Recently had them prepare one for the holidays and it was excellent. Manager Adam is running a great place. And the strawberry shortcake is a must!

This is the best cafeteria style restaurant I’ve ever been to. Good interior décor. Looks clean. Plenty of tables. The staff is courteous and attentive. The food is great, makes me want to grab three trays and go at it. Prices are medium. One of the best chicken fried chicken and mash around. Plenty of healthy options, but rarely resist the southern comfort food. Everything looks fresh. The desserts are Texas sized. Mouth watering already, I shouldn’t be writing this up around lunch time.

I love Lubys. The macaroni and cheese is to die for! I usually get the fried fish, Mac n cheese and mashed or sweet potatoes. I love that they have free kids meals on Wednesday nights and all day Saturday. The service is rarely very good here, so I never feel compelled to leave a very good tip. I miss the days of having the tea lady come around and give you tea. I feel like that was always better.

From the other reviews, this place is new. It was very nice with a few TVs. Luby’s has always had good food, but I think their a little overpriced. We enjoyed our meal and will go back but it’s Glenda’s choice, not mine.

This place has good fresh food. They have a great selection. If your looking to eat healthy and clean it’s doable here. The Staff is super nice and the waiters and waitresses are very nice and friendly. I am a regular here and out of all the times I’ve been here maybe once the waitress was nowhere to be found. I was also over charged once but I told the manager and he fixed it right away giving me my refund. Over all the staff is super nice! The place is clean, with clean bathrooms as well. Ample parking all around too!

Liver & Onions, Spinach Salad, spinach, mac&ache else, Apple Cranberry Pork Chop & water w/lemon. Whole Wheat Roll Salad excellent with raspberry vinaigrette, Liver moist, lots of well sautéed onions, gravy on the side. Delicious. Spinach, well what can be said, pretty decent. Roll nice, soft & warm. Pork Chop, inch and a half thick, moist„ tender, nuts, Apple & Cranberry were great accents. Mac & Cheese, just cheesy enough, nice treat. Great place to eat, reasonably priced. Nice variety.

I was soooooo excited to have Luby’s here in Rockwall. The concept was genius!!! The staff was great BUT goodness, all I could taste was salt. The chicken pot pie was basically chicken soup with a crust on top. The seafood patties had a stench to it. The turkey was extremely salty. The stuffing was salty too. We tried Luby’s twice and both times, we left disappointed.

So normally I like Lubys, but my last two visits have been very disappointing. I ordered a Luann platter which is a joke. I got the fried fish, which was just bigger than a cracker. Then they asked what bread I wanted, and I ordered toast which I was unknowingly charged an extra .60 for. It was the heal of the bread and too hard to bite through. When I questioned each thing, I was told that’s just how it comes. And don’t think the meal was cheap! It was over $ 10! Total rip off. I won’t be back.

I give it a 4 for these reasons, it is clean, good food presentation, fresh food, friendly staff and quick. Was a good lunch with Anita before going to airport.

Awesome new location. Not only is it a Luby’s, but it’s attached to a Fuddrucker’s as well! Good food, friendly service. Updated to a more modern look w/t.v.‘s all around. Great place to stop in to when in the area!

Can’t stop going to Lubys. You have stolen my heart yet again as an adult. Your fish and Mac N Cheese takes me back to the great 80’s where we ran the streets all day, never wore a seat belt, never wore shoes, acted like maniacs, threw firecrackers at each other, got spanked in the store for our bad behavior and no one around cared and dinner was the best homemade food in the world. Your desserts are by far the best desserts in the world. I feel like I’m getting ice box pie out of my grandmas fridge. Keep up the good, not good, FABULOUSJOB! I heart you Lubys!

I can’t help it — I love Luby’s. It’s probably because I have so many fond childhood memories of my grandmother taking me there & letting me get anything I wanted, including a fancy dessert at the end of the line. To me, it is comfort food. I love the chicken fried chicken & fried fish. I know for some people it might seem like a place for older folks, but I really like it. Also, this new location is very tastefully decorated and has a nice atmosphere.

The fried chicken, Mac n’ cheese, corn, blackened chicken, mushrooms, rice, bread were all amazing the luann platter I thought was small but they give you a massive amount of food so you won’t be Hungry after words! The pies look amazing and delicious I definitely recommend lubys! You won’t wish you went to a different restaurant!

Ok this place is waaaay overpriced and the food is terrible. A family of 5 could eat at a much nicer restaurant! It was 60 $ just for 5 of us. Everything from starters to deserts is not good.

Chain restaurants are not normally something I review on Unilocal.Especially ones I visit on a regular basis. But when you combine two restaurants together, it becomes a magical experience. I was able to create my dream meal — a Fuddruckers patty and bun topped with a Lubys chopped steak, grilled onions from the liver and onions, natural gravy, and side dish mushrooms with Fudd fries covered with Lubys cheese sauce. The line was long at Lubys — reminded me of the line at Richardson back in 1997. Fudds line was quicker and the buzzer worked in Lubys(there is a pass thru in the restroom corridor). Lubys had beer, wine, blue bell ice cream, and the skillet potatoes that I haven’t seen in years. Fuddruckers is a corporate store(the rest in DFW are franchises) so the menu is a little different too.

Ha! You’d think the good folk of Rockwall had never seen a Luby’s before! At 7:30 on a Tuesday night this joint was PACKED(and I do mean packed) full of hungry folk waiting in line, smiling, having a good time. It was reminiscent of Luby’s circa 1985 when it was cool to eat out at Luby’s. We got a to-go order because we were tired and weren’t about to join the joival 200 in their quest for liver and onions/crunchy fried fish/green jello. Our order took a hot minute(turns out they had a back log of chicken fried steaks they were tryin’ to crank out) but it, god, when we got home and dug in, t’was fantastic. The fried okra was a bit mushy but the macaroni and cheese was cheesy cafeteria style food perfection. The workers were a bit overwhelmed and looked kinda shell shocked but everyone was sweet and friendly. Welcome to Rockwall, Luby’s! Apparently the people have been craving some of what you got!

This is a new establishment in the Rockwall area. It’s a combo with Fuddruckers attached. I was discouraged by the crowds but this Sunday was my day. The entire nucleus minus one was there. Honestly for a Sunday afternoon it was a typical, healthy crowd. I thought the lines would start me off on the wrong foot but it actually moved along pretty well. I just chatted a bit and watched TV and soon I was getting my tray. Omg– the food looked so good. I wanted a sampler but they don’t serve that lol. I carefully analyzed and weighed the choices beforehand so I wouldn’t be THAT person, you know! I was eying some fish but ultimately I went with a veggie plate. I haven’t had a lot of veggies late me and I knew I meet up my iron and all those other good minerals that are probably lacking in my body. I got a salad too. I finished every morsel and washes it down with my table side lemonade(water+ fresh squeezed lemon+sweeter of choice). I have no complaints. Management is so on point because everybody was nice and super helpful. Also the line moved well because there were plenty of people serving down the line. The lady got our beverages and put them on our trays so we wouldn’t have to stop. And we were promptly greeted at our table by our table helper. So one more super big huge kudos to the management because this is a new restaurant and there were no red flags or hiccups for me today. All in all it was a great meal and what I always look for out of my neighborhood Luby’s. I will be trying the chicken fried chicken next time because I have several bites from somebody else’s plate and it was delicious. Thanks Dad… lol.

Lost a star because food was not hot, it was lukewarm. Overall it tasted good but service was kind of slow, I’ll give them a break because they’re brand new and it was very busy. I will be back but not until the hype dies down.

This place is AWE-SOME! Yes, I know, it’s a Luby’s, but this isn’t your grandparents’ Luby’s! This place is hip & chic with three flat screen TV’s on the wall with a modern upscale look & vibe to the entire restaurant. Went there for their grand opening today and they had it running like a well-oiled machine!(Quite refreshing compared to some other recently opened Rockwall restaurants that are still struggling to get their act together.) And the PEOPLE that they have working there! Everyone was so nice and welcoming and seemed happy to be working there! Makes me smile just thinking about it! Even met the general manager«Adam». Told him he would be seeing me there all the time now that they’ve opened a location in Rockwall. Not only that, but they’ve got their sister restaurant«Fuddruckers» right next door!!! I love it! P. S. — forgot to mention the FOOD!!! That was awesome too! I had the dilled salmon with asparagus spears and fried okra, fruit salad and split a dessert with my lunch companion. The food was incredible. Everything they were bringing out looked mouth-watering delicious! The chicken fried steak was the size of a dinner plate and the cheese steak(my all-time favorite), looked moist and delectable. They even serve wine and beer at this location. This is an upscale Luby’s! Thank you Luby’s for coming to Rockwall!!! Now I won’t have to stress(as much), over what I’m going to cook for dinner!
