Silver Spur Arco

I live in PVE. Occas. use this Arco for services. Needed their phone number to call re smog check before selling my car. Saw some pretty awful reviews on Unilocal,but went anyway.
Smog check a breeze and less expensive than others and I passed.
Car wash and wax was amazing. I didn’t tell them that I have only hosed down my car for the 16 years I owned it and this was its first car wash. Other than the cosmetic bumps from use, the car finish looked like new. I hope this helps me sell it easily.

I go into the cash register and wait in line, I say to the clerk «$ 20 for #8 please, thanks.» He then asked «anything else?» And I respond «no thanks.» And then I wait for my receipt. When he didn’t give me one I asked for it. He then proceeded to lecture me «that’s why I asked if you needed anything else. You need to communicate with me. I’m running behind already.» I find his comment rude. I’m there for gas and giving me my receipt should be standard procedure. Instead I get lip… do I complain about waiting in line bc I am 8 months pregnant and my back hurts? Why should I care if he is running behind? What a joke.

Addition to prior review: I went to fill up my car at this gas station during a pretty significant windstorm. The gas station has advertisements over the barriers next to the pumps. As I was filling up my car one of the advertisements was not properly secured, flew off of its holding area and hit my car. I went inside as a courtesy to tell the manager of the issue. He came outside fixed the advertisement and walked away without looking at my car or apologizing for one of his workers inappropriately attaching an advertisement which could have caused my cars exterior damage. Fortunately it didn’t but I was surprised at the lack of consideration for my vehicle.
It seems par for the course for this gas station. Unfortunate but not too surprising.

This is the car wash that I go often only because of its location. Its very close to my son’s school so once I drop him off in the morning, I can go to this car wash and get my car cleaned. They have a promotion on Wednesdays for $ 1 off your car wash. Unfortunately, the workers are in a rush and never really get to clean the car as thorough as I expect it to be. I have asked them many times to go back and wipe down the chairs or to vacuum the kid’s car seats.
Amr is the name of the manager there and it seems like they days he is there, the place is more in control and the workers generally do a better job.

I needed an oil change and my father had a coupon here for $ 29.99 plus $ 1.99 disposal fee and free car wash. So I came today at 1:15 pm on a Saturday and was told it would take about an hour.
I dropped off my keys at the front desk and then went out to lunch and grocery shopping with my parents. Came back at 3:30 pm, and my car was still being worked on. The guy said 10 more minutes. They finished in about 10 minutes and then proceeded to wash my car.
The oil change coupon only included 4 quarts of oil, so I needed to pay more for any additional oil.
They finished washing my car at about 4 pm. The total cost for the oil change ended up being $ 34.01, which I think is quite reasonable. But be prepared for a long wait if you come here. They were very busy today.

Worst ever! First off, car wash is quick and terrible. Do they even clean the interior? Then they wipe down one side of it that you can see. The other side is still covered in whatever gunk was on it to begin with. I’d rather go down the street to the Chevron!
Secondly, the service of the mechanics is even worse! We came here for a smog check once three years ago, and once this year, for sake of convenience since it’s across the street from the shops.
First time around, they called us after about 45 minutes and told us there was a serious fuel leak in our engine and that it could catch fire and blow us up at any moment. Of course, I was really concerned about this, and rushed over to check it out. The manager (!!!) of the car service told us it would be extremely dangerous to drive the car in this condition and that he could fix it for something like $ 3000. Luckily, I called our regular mechanic and he assured us it would be ok and they were just trying to pull the wool over our eyes.
After that fiasco, we shouldn’t have gone back to that place, and we did avoid it for two years. However, we needed to be in the plaza across from Arco, so we risked it… what could go wrong? We leave the car and they said it would be ready in an hour. Of course, they didn’t even bother to call us when it was done. I had to call them and ask, and the guy who picked up the phone told me really matter-​of-​factly that it was done a while ago and we had failed due to a minor leak. The attitude of the mechanic was terrible when we arrived, and after we told him that he would not be fixing our car for $ 1500, his attitude got even worse. We went to the register to pay for the labor of the smog check, and as I got into the car while talking on the phone with our regular mechanic, he walks by and glares at us, yelling something about us having not paid yet to the guy at the register. When he’s told that we have paid, he walks off grumbling and mumbling to himself.
Good job, Arco. If I could give zero stars, I would.

I used a Best Buys Guide coupon which should’ve given me an oil change and wash for $ 29.95. Wound up costing over $ 43!!! I’ve NEVER paid over $ 40 for an oil change. Charged extra for a filter which was supposed to be included with coupon. Wash was terrible, too. It’s like they didn’t even vacuum. Quotes for service inflated and the guy said he couldn’t print out the estimate, but could «probably do it cheaper.» Not a chance they’re touching my cars again.

Had my car serviced here and am pleasantly surprised at the turnout! I went in for new spark plugs and an oil change. They checked the computers system and fixed something else that was a higher priority. Cars running well! I did hold them to a price quote they gave me on the phone.

It is hard to find a service station which treats people with integrity, but I trust the service here and the service manager, Moe.
Also, they have the cheapest gas between the Peninsula and LAX.

Please note, this is for the car wash only, I have gotten gas here and have not had issues, typical Arco. If I could give 0 starts, or even better, negative stars I would. Printed out coupon from
, a local direct marketing pamphlet that comes in our mail monthly. Gave the coupon to the cashier, no problem, line up to get my car wash and when the guy who writes me up tells me I can’t use that coupon, though he will allow it this time. Says, I can’t use the one printed off the marketing companies website. I have done this countless times for other companies and advise him if he doesn’t want customers to use the website he should contact the marketing company. I had paid for the Hand Wash with liquid polish and includes Armor All all exterior for 10.99. Car gets done being washed, sits for more than a few minutes waiting for someone to pull it up to the drying area and begins to dry up and I can see water spots forming. Finally gets pulled up and continues to sit, more water spots. Finally someone starts attending to it, very quickly and barely dries and does the windows inside and out. No Liquid Polish. No wipe down of the interior, dash, nothing. Then waves the rag as done, no Armor All. They did do it after I pointed it out, but first only did the tires, and then only did the trim when I pointed it out again. One and done, never going back.

Zero stars if I could. First off, I would never take my car (s) here for service, so this rating is for the car wash only. Since my last experience here several years ago, I have chosen to wash my cars myself. The last time the wheels were left filthy, and the guy explained to me that cleaning the wheels was not part of the wash. Fast forward to yesterday I found myself in a time crunch, and for the first time in 3 or 4 years took my F-​150 here for a wash. The guy running the wash asked me if I wanted to pay the $ 10 to clean the wheels, and Armorall the tires. Remembering my experience from years ago, I went for it. What a mistake! The wheels were still filthy, and the guy did a crap job on the Armorall, missing some spots on the tires, and getting so much on others that the Armorall splattered all down both sides of the truck, and even splattered both side view mirrors. If you have a newer car, or a nice older car do not take your car here for a wash. If you have and older «clunker», and a half assed crapy car wash is fine with you this is your place!

Worst Car Wash ever. These guys actually only wipe the side and wheels you can see, and the ones you don’t, well now you know why they are quicker than other car washes in the area. I won’t even get into the windows, interior, etc. I’ve given them a few chances and still tip as I feel bad, but no more.
Quick & (left) Dirty!

If you plan to have these people fix your car get a second opinion. They are overpriced and I question the quality of their work and honesty. My car was there for 4 hours and charged me 8 labor hours. On the phone a particular item was going to take 2.50 hours to fix, in the invoice I was charged 3.2 hours. While at the shop my car was hit at the bumber and it appeared that some heavy tool fell on it. The manager who is rude claimed that it never happened without even asking his people if they noticed anything. He said he will take a photo and show to the owner. Never heard back. I was a customer for almost 15 years. The previous managers were great in particular Peter. I compare the current invoice with past ones for the same repair and the price on materials and labor increased by 40 to 50% over a period of 8 months due to the change of manager. If this manager is not replaced all regular customers will be gone.
I do not plan to go back and I am warning all my friends to keep away. Not even for car wash or gas as I feel cheated and had to deal with a rude manager who understimates the intelligence of people and common sense.

Go here for filling up on Gas, they have good service and the best prices.
Never had any issue while filing up gas here.
For mechanical problems or car washes, I suggest not going here.
I’ve had my car washes done here numerous times, but they always seem very lazy about it and miss spots all the time.

I was very impressed with the service and how accommodating they were. I was in a bit of a hurry and didn’t have an appointment to have my oil changed, but they were able to squeeze me in. I would definitely go back and have other services done on all my cars.
PS: They also gave me a discount for a car wash!

Went for smog check. When I called they said no wait. Got there in 5 minutes and there was a wait. Next the I give the guy my coupon and dmv paper and when I park my car, I can’t find him. After they take my key and just said OK. U asked what is the wait. And its 1 hour. I return and when I try to pay i was in the wrong area. After I was charged 10 dollars extra for parts which was not disclosed when I came. After I pay I had to hunt to find where they left my car. Quite disappointing.

This place is way over priced and constantly trying to up-​sell you. They charged us for tire alignment which they either screwed up or didn’t do. We took the car to another mechanic for a second opinion and had the work done there. For ½ the price. Avoid this place. They are dishonest and waste of time.

DO NOT GET GAS HERE.
I just came back from this gas station and it CHEATED me of my GAS. I put in $ 100 and used Super for the gas type. It said $ 4.09 per gallon. Then when I was pumping the gas, it clicked after awhile and wouldn’t let me put in more gas, even though I put in $ 100. My gas tank was BARELY MORE THAN HALFWAY!!! I am EXTREMELY pissed off and will never EVER go to that gas station again. They have shitty quality gas anyways.

There’s sucky car washes and then there’s this place, the absolute worst car wash. Didn’t wipe down interior at all, rims are still dirty, water spots everywhere the list can go on and on. Bottom line. do not waste any money here. Feel like i was just robbed of $ 20, I will never go back.
