I live in the area but had not been to Mango’s in a few years. I really enjoyed it. We were greeted by a nice hostess, Madie, who made us feel welcome immediately. She is a perfect«first contact person». Our server, Sarah, was prompt, attentive and gave us good recommendations. The cream of crab soup is very meaty. It is different than most because it has a little spicy kick to it. I had the Mango Ultimate Wrap, it was very tasty. The cole slaw is way better than most restaurants. I also loved the atmosphere. It made me feel like I was on vacation. I’ll definitely be back.

Updated review. This place has generally sucked but I am upgrading from one to two stars. They have some new additions to the menu like the lobster roll that are good. However the service needs improvement. After 5 – 6 poolside orders this season I have yet to get an order with napkins or the right cutlery. The quality of produce is lacking too. Keep working on it!

Great crab cakes! Jumbo lump!!! See pic posted :) and their crushes are AMAZING!!! They used fresh squeezed oranges and grapefruit unlike rod n reel, which I visited for lunch today and discovered to my dismay. This place has a great vibe and the servers were also very familiar with the menu. Definitely a great spot to visit

For me this place is about the atmosphere… not the food. The food is basic, it is decent bar food. The drinks are good. The service is routine, mostly college kids who can’t wait to get off work and go party. Not a real high level of service. But I don’t think you go there for the food or the service. You go to be outside, and sit by the water, the bar area is always fun and happening, and its just a fun place to be. You can fill your belly with some basic food, without getting up out of your seat to get it yourself like you’d have to at home. And it is like being at home because it feels like your teenage kids are bringing you your food because you made them as a punishment, and then it is like they are running right back to their bedrooms and their cell phones, computers or video games to veg out and get away from the parents. Same feeling. So go to have fun and be outside, not to have a great meal or get great service and interact with an excellent server.

The negative or sub par reviews I read about this place make me chuckle. This place has an amazing staff and an amazing menu– appetizers AND entrées. If you come during a holiday or when it’s packed, expect a little wait. Good food takes time! It will be worth it. In the event that I’ve ever had any kind of issue(which is extremely rare), the staff was more than attentive and accommodating. I’ve never left with a sour taste in my mouth, and return often. Also, Wednesday trivia nights are a blast and the usual crowd is always welcoming and fun!

Love the orange crushes and the views are really nice. Service can be a little slow when it’s busy.

Wow it is amazing how a place with a great view and really good service can have food that is utterly pathetic. If you are going out to have a drink the outside bar is awesome. The inside bar is also very cozy and they frequently have great entertainment. If you are trying to have dinner go anywhere else because the food is a complete joke. The last time I ate there I had their filet medallions which were over cooked and their mashed potatoes, which were stone cold and bland. For 32 dollars I expect a little bit more. This place use to have great food, but over the last few years it has gone completely down hill.

This place is a mess. Shame on me for giving it multiple chances. The staff is so miserable. No one seems to want to be there. Halloween party 2015 — we were not greeted. We had reserved a table. Ordered tons of drinks and food and they packaged it to go when were clearly there for the night. Had to run back and forth to bar and such attitude! Manager was a joke! They halloween costume party — people were decked out and they made no effort to engage people. And in the end of the night and bride who got married upstairs came in crashed the party with her wedding party thought they owned the joint and they Gave the prize to her –just because. THEY are a hot mess and so rude!

Very disappointed. Three bartenders Friday night and two disappeared at the same time. One bartender couldn’t keep up. Took 15 minutes just to order a wine served in a plastic cup :(. Then a guy with two of his buddies simply walked up near the bar and the bartender knew his drink and served him instantly ignoring everyone that has been waiting for their drinks. These three are the same guys the police swarmed around as we were leaving. Top off, the bartenders were taking shots together several times. I’ve been to many bars and this one is very poorly managed and losing money. I won’t go back. This bar needs a bar rescue!

After a day trip to North Beach with some friends we ended up at Mangos after searching Unilocal.Finding parking and the restaurant is a pain. You can barely see the restaurant from the street. There was a reception or some type of event happening next door and so finding parking across the street in the gravel lot or along the street could take a while, but we were lucky to find someone leaving as soon as we arrived. We wanted outside seating since it was such a beautiful day. We went through the main building to the outside patio area and asked for a table for 3. We were told to follow the hostess, but was right away re-routed back to the hostess stand as there were no tables available. We waited for about 5 – 8 mins as a table of guests were getting ready to leave. After the guest left we waited for the table to be cleared off, but the hostess and busboys just stood there. We had to ask the busboys to clear the table for us. Once we were able to be seated our server came over and greeted us. His name was Alex and he was great. He took our drink and appetizer order. The drinks came out quickly and so did the appetizer. We ordered the crab dip and it was really good! Maybe we were just hungry, but it was gone in 10 mins! The crab dip was hot and so was the bread. I would highly recommend getting the crab dip. The drinks were ok, but nothing special. For the main course I ordered the grilled chicken and shrimp wrap with fries. The wrap was good. There was plenty of chicken and big pieces of shrimp. The fries however sucked. They were cold and had no flavor. My other friends had the sea bass sandwich and was told it was good, but on the small side and the Mangos salad which was a good size and also had a nice portion of big shrimp. Overall, Mangos was good and I would visit again, especially for the crab dip.

Came here two nights in a row because I was docked at the pier. If only there were other places to eat. Dry food & overpriced! Will never go here again, unless it is for drinks!

My boyfriend and I were staying at Herrington on the Bay, so decided to walk over to Mango’s for a few happy hour drinks. We were not sure what to expect, but were quite pleased by our drinks(a mango mai tai and a top-shelf margarita) and appetizers(crab balls and coco-bongo shrimp), as well as our service. I am usually not a big seafood eater, but I truly enjoyed their crab. We were pleased enough that we decided to return for a late dinner that same night, and were just as impressed(although the price of dinner is considerably more than happy hour drinks and appetizers). Emboldened by my earlier taste of the crab balls, I went for their crab cakes – you can choose from baked or fried(I got fried) and two sides, and my boyfriend said, about his Tornadoes Chesapeake, «I don’t want to eat it, I want to make love to it!» All the staff was friendly and attentive but didn’t hover, and I saw no signs that indicated a lack of cleanliness. Would definitely return if we are in the area again!

Since this restaurant is at my marina, my family and I eat there on a regular basis. I think I’ve had everything on the menu and looking back I can’t think of a single one that was less than spectacular. Just had a basic burger today and it was one of the best I can remember. Bloody Mary’s are excellent, so is the new mango beer on draft.

Sitting at the restaurant now. Only came because tonight is half price bottle night. On the way here I said to my boyfriend, «I hope that have some new wine choices». Well… They def do and the choices aren’t any lower than $ 32 a bottle!!! Seriously??? Watch what you wish for. They had a lovely Hidden Crush Chardonnay for around $ 17 which made the whole half price bottle worth getting out of the house for after working from 8:45 — 7:00. What a complete disappointment!!! I even asked the bartender what happened to the less expensive options and see basically blew me off with a lame unsympathetic response! Guess this will be our last Tuesday night at Mango’s, what a total bummer… oh and FYI the more expensive option was less appealing to my palate.

I feel like such a grinch writing this review when so many people clearly love it here, but this place was SUCH a disappointment! My fiancé and I came here for dinner last night because we were looking for some place casual with recommended outdoor seating. The restaurant is located just north of North Beach where you cross lines into Anne Arundel County, and is either attached to or part of Herrington Harbour, where people slip their boats. It’s also next door to Herrington on the Bay, which seems to be a pretty popular wedding destination. The best parking is for slip holders only, so you have to park across the street in a gravel lot. Fair enough. We went in and asked for outdoor seating. The hostess, who may have been new and was very nice, said she’d check on that and then came back to say there was actually a hostess outside. I’m not sure why she wouldn’t have known that, or why the other 2 hostesses standing there next to her didn’t just direct us to the back, but that’s fine. Inside there’s plenty of seating that actually looks preferable. No real exciting views except for a members only pool and of the cabana bar, though. There’s also a bar inside with TV’s on, and there seemed to be a strong contingent of regulars there enjoying a beer. They also have a small dance floor and an area with live music; a band was setting up as we left at around 9pm. So we go to the back and enter the cabana bar where we are promptly seated… right next to the bar. There are people drinking, screaming, drunk all within a couple of feet of me. Also smoking is allowed, so everything last night was peppered with the really undesirable smell and taste of cigarette smoke, although I guess that’s our fault for wanting to sit outside. The view by and large is not of the bay or the boats — it’s of a members only pool that was empty. That said, the ambiance is actually pretty fun — it’s a tiki bar with lit torches, palm trees, strings of lights, and some lounging areas. I’m just not entirely sure why the seated dining was thrown right in the middle of this — it would make much more sense to have the hip tiki bar vibe separate from those looking for an outdoor dinner. The food was really hit or miss. We started with the crab balls, which came at a whopping $ 14 for 5 small balls. They were fine. There was lump crab meat and(in my opinion) not much filler, but little to no seafood seasoning. It actually kind of tasted ambiguously fried more than anything. The presentation on the plate was also EMBARRASSING. It was sloppy, not wiped down, and one of the sauces they gave us was cocktail sauce, which was clearly congealed and straight out of the bottle. TAKESOMEPRIDEINWHATYOUSERVE! Don’t serve a jellied blob of sauce that still resembles the bottle it came out of! Come on! Then for dinner I ordered mango’s sampler, which is actually the appetizer sampler. It consisted of: CRABDIP: With half of a roll(that was soft and very good) and tortilla chips(not bad — homemade with flour tortillas). The crab dip itself was really subpar. No crab was detected, nor any Old Bay. The top had little to no melted cheese on it. Ultimately it was a warm, unseasoned cream cheese dip. It’s a shame because it was my 2nd crab fail of the night at a restaurant right on the bay! Also the portion was significant, and I wish it was a big portion of really good crab dip, instead. FRIEDPICKLES: Not bad. The breading was seasoned well and the pickles were juicy. Just as a matter of preferences I like fried pickles slices rather than spears, and I got 3 spears. Came with ranch dressing. COCO-BONGOSHRIMP: Yum!!! This came with 3 coconut(gulf) shrimp served with raspberry coulis. By far the best thing I ate all night. Get this!!! CHICKENTENDERS: Good. Fine. Nothing special or extraordinary about them, but no complaints. Finally, the wait staff was fine but all pretty young and overwhelmed. I asked our waitress for some extra sriracha aioli for the crab balls that never came, and it was a long while before our drinks were refilled. In the middle of dinner another waiter came over to take away our napkin holder and the little coffee sweetener holder(as he was for all tables). I asked if they had stopped serving dinner outside and they seemed confused and said no. So I have no explanation as for why they took our napkins. Also many of them wore t-shirts advertising orange crushes, and it’s gotta be the worst advertising ever. We never heard about the orange crush, or any other drinks for that matter. Ultimately I saw on FB that they got an orange crush machine, which I guess people are pretty excited about. Come here to drink and party and have fun. Don’t come here looking for an amazing dinner(unless you have a hankering for coconut shrimp) or a taste of crab in MD!

Almost a 5… food is terrific, atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing… The down side for the non-smokers is people are allowed to smoke everywhere outside… bummer! Also, the service is slow,… If you can take the smoke while you eat and have patience with the service then this place will not disappoint!

5 stars soul for the meal. The atmosphere and location is beautiful, but the Tourtugand Chesapeake was devine! The steak was light and perfectly cooked and the crab imperial was also great. I go the parsley potatoes as a side, and they worked well with the steak and imperial.

Great beach bar and restaurant at the beautiful Herrington Resort! Stopped by here for a quick drink with my girls from work before kicking off Employee Appreciation Day. And man did we kick it off! Delicious spicy Bloody Mary’s, mouth-watering fresh-squeezed Mimosas, and now for the clincher: better wings than the best wing spot in Baltimore. That’s right. You heard me say it. Mango’s throws down on the wing-front in a shockingly serious way. Their Chesapeake wings(dry-rub Old Bay) had the girls and I staring incredulously at one another as we picked the bones clean. Perfectly crispy and juicy, with no chewiness or gristle(which is sheer art when it comes to good ol’ fatty wings, in my humble opinion). After a few hours playing soccer and paddle-boarding on the beach, the whole group returned to Mango’s for lunch, and again, we were not disappointed. We sat in their lovely dining room inside, which was full of light and beautiful views. Crab Cake: solid B+/A– on the Maryland scale(which is a serious scale, if you’re an out-of-towner). The rest of the crew enjoyed their various sandwiches and sides as well. I was thrilled that they offered a tasty quinoa salad as an alternative to fries and chips. My thighs thank you, Mango’s!!! Although it’s a bit off the beaten path, this resort is worth the trip. 10⁄10 would visit again when I’m in the area.

3 ½* Great location but the service is pretty scattered. Our party had to ask for napkins and utensils, and when we did we only got 5(we had 8 people)! Anyway, the food is surprisingly good. They ran out of the veggie lasagna which was a huge bummer. Mussels — delicious with some cream sauce Shrimp — I wasn’t a huge fan, but the others loved it Fried pickles — ummmmm delicious! Crab cakes — pretty good and large portion Mozzarella balls — pretty tasty but very fried and greasy Caprese Grinder — skip this. The zucchini was fried to death and the menu said fresh mozzarella but we just got fried mozzarella balls in the sandwich. Disaster! Key Lime Pie — not the best that I’ve had. Wasn’t a fan of the coconut in the pie.
