It’s definitely just a matter of preference but they make a good sandwich were not for their variety of meat selection. The veggies are fresh and crisp, the baguette nice and crusty with a nice chew in the middle and the spreads are tasty and generous. We did not like their particular brand of cold cut or sardines. Especially the sardines which where the oil type rather than the tomato sauce. Service was fast and friendly with a good selection in the refrigerated section of the store.

I LOVE coming here to buy sandwiches. They are buy two, get one free for the round sandwiches which makes them only $ 2 each. I always get two combinations with cold cuts and pâté and one chicken. They are extremely filling and still very good the next day. I’ve tried the coffee once and it was not the best but edible and the desserts in the refrigerator that looked like layered coffee gelatin or parfaits are terrible… There is always some kind of viet drama playing. While I was there, they had one that was set on the Mekong River and a peasant girl got slapped by a male in some wealthy or royal family: o

Same menu as Saigon’s Sandwich & Bakery in San Gabriel and Banh Mi Saigon in Westminster. There is a Buy 2 Get 1 Free promotion for the«round sandwiches» and Buy 3 Get 1 Free for the«long baguettes». The main difference between the two is the shape of the bread. The length of a round sandwich is 8 inches, a baguette is approximately 12 inches long. The fillings at Banh Mi Saigon are hit and miss to me. My favorite is the nem bo nuong, which is a skewered strip of beef that is strongly marinated in lemongrass. It has an intoxicating fragrance when eaten fresh, I especially like its sweet and pungent flavor. The nem bo is grilled only when ordered. The xiu mai, my second choice, is adequate. It tastes exactly like a meatball that had been immersed in a tomato and garlic sauce. However, the xiu mai doesn’t have the crumbly structure of a meatball; Banh Mi Saigon serves xiu mai as a rectangular strip with the shape and consistency of sliced meatloaf(chewy). Most recently, I tried the thit nuong, which I consider to be avoidable, It completely missed the mark. The«thit nuong» meat that I received did not appear to be thoroughly pan fried or grilled, if cooked on the spot at all. In addition, this shop serves either the most fatty pieces or the most rubbery pieces of pork and dyes it in red colour. Not only that, but the meat seemed to be marinated in a honey-based sauce that I found to be too sweet, it tasted like what is glazed on top of Chinese BBQ pork. Unlike the Lee’s Sandwich or Mr. Baguette chains, Banh Mi Saigon prepares bread that is always on point. The round bread tastes just as good as the baguette, with a semi-flaky crust and a soft fluffy interior. I could even eat it alone without fillings. Sometimes however, the assembler applies excessive amounts of mayonnaise and pâté which makes the banh mi overly creamy. I usually pair banh mi with a cup of ca phe sua da, which is prepared reasonably well here. There is enough milk added to counter the bitterness of French roast coffee, but the drink is not excessively sweet. My favorite Vietnamese bakery is Thanh Tam in Garden Grove, followed by Hue Thai Bakery in Rosemead. Banh Mi Saigon comes in third on my list.

tip: buy 2 get one free for the round kind of banh mi. Excellent customer service. Even asks me if i would like to separate the veggies. This is important because the pickled veggies spoils the meat inside the sandwich faster if you don’t eat it right away. If you’re planning on saving it for next day lunch then separating the veggies is the way to go. They actually give you generous amounts of meat and pâté. Of course, pâté is only on the cold cuts. It won’t be on the bbq meats.

It took me a while to find a Banh Mi place I could go to regularly since I moved up from San Diego. I like the bread and the filling(which they load the sandwiches with). Better yet I love ordering 2 round sandwiches and getting 1 free. One downside, cash only.

The best Bahn Mi i have ever had! When my mother comes to visit from Atlanta I always take her here. We live in Glendale so by the time we get home a whole baguette is gone! I suggest buying several and freeze them if you’re not close by. They usually have a deal on sandwiches to buy 2 and get the 3rd free! Amazing!!! I’m a vegetarian and love the veggie sandwich but mom loves the special combination, my kids and husband love the pork! You’ll Never Go BACK To Lee’s again… unless you like rock hard Bahn Mi that will rip your gums off your teeth(sorry Lee’s). My mother is Vietnamese and I’m ½. The owner remembers us every time we go in. She works so hard and is always there but always looks beautiful and so put together. It’s just so friendly and I’ll never go anywhere else if I can help it. They are the benchmark for me!!! Thank you guys! Bahn mi bn có tt nht trên th gii! Cam on!

I was so used to eating Banh Mi out of a baguette until I came here. The sandwiches are in a circular bread(like a soup bowl almost) and they put all the meat and the pâté in there and leave the pickled veggies and jalapenos in a separate clear sandwich bag. That’s pretty neat and less messy if you ask me. I frequented this place a few times when I was visiting my family. OH, they make the bread there! Whoa! Also, they’re pretty quick with fulfilling your order. They have a few good deals and offers where you buy a certain amount and get such and such for free-pretty neat– they don’t do that where I’m from! They have drinks and teas and such in their fridge, but priced on the higher end so avoid those(there’s a Walgreens and Ralph’s nearby that’s cheaper).

Came here for the first time but I didn’t get their banh mi. I was just craving for some egg rolls and since banh mi che cali eggs rolls were expensive, I came here instead to check out the price and amazingly, this place has cheaper egg rolls! 3 for $ 1.50 and as for banh me che cali, their were 2 for $ 1.25. Like, helloooo, $.25 more for an egg roll? IMIN. Banh mi Saigon’s egg rolls were delicious. Crunchy, crispy and the meat was well season. The cashier was friendly too! Parking was ok. There’s a few ’15 minute only’ parking in front of the store. I’m definitely coming back to try their banh mi!

I am in love with Banh mi Saigon. I have gotta say it’s the best of Banh mi I have had so far. The bread is soft but not too soft. The meats and the veggies are just the right taste. All together you get a perfect Banh mi. Yum. The store is very clean and sparkly, they have a tv but most of the time is in Vietnamese, either music or news. The servers are awesome. They help you with their heart content. They even remember what you order the next time you come. Cool. Most of the server are bilingual, like Vietnamese, Cantonese, mandarin, English. Etc. Overall quality, totally deserve 5 stars, ya!

Definitely a fan! Pros — coffee here is super bomb. I’d say this is my favorite Vietnamese coffee. Comparison to Lee’s coffee — people here speak English — place is clean and their service is fast — The price is reasonable and I think it was buy 2 get one free? Not for sure if that’s what it was — Close to AU Tea House and the market Cons — I don’t like the parking lot at this location — it is a bit of an inconvenience to get into the parking lot. So i recommend parking at the market and walking over Will check in soon!

I’ve been coming here for the last 2 years. Pretty good deal on the football shaped sandwiches, buy 2 get one free. So it’s pretty much 2.20 per sandwich lol. But I actually really enjoy the sandwiches. My favorites are #1 and the meatball. I can’t find any reason to give this place less than 4 stars.

Pretty solid banh mi joint. The bread is baked on site and has a good crunch on it while not breaking your jaw. Tastes fresh too. My sister had them do catering for my nephew’s party and they were on point with quantity and quality. They also make really good eggrolls and pâté chaud(meat pies). I like their quality better than Lee’s. It’s worth checking out.

3.5 stars This place is wonderful! The Vietnamese iced coffee is stronger than Lee’s, and tastes much better to me… cheaper too! I love the buy 2 get 1 free jello cups/flan that they have, and my bf loves their round bread sandwiches. I also get spring rolls from here, but honestly the rolls are always a bit dried out. The pork skin one is also very peppery, which I personally like, but some of you may be peppered out. With these prices though, it’s definitely a spot I visit every time I’m in the area! I feel like compared to banh mi che cali, this place has better service and the round bread gives it a little advantage on the sandwiches, though banh mi che cali has a much wider selection and variety of goodies.

This place is the epitome of cutting corners. With numerous sandwich places around and better options, I don’t think they will be open for much longer if they keep this up. What lured me into this place was their deals. Buy 2 get 1 free. FREE? YESPLEASE! Sadly this comes at the expense of quality. Unlike most other banh mi places that I haunt the sandwiches here are mostly bread; they really skimp out on the meat and veggies(please see picture for proof). And that’s a big no no for 626 restaurant etiquette because this area is all about good food at good prices. Overall: Ingredients were fresh but they really jipped us on the filling so in other words this is a BAD deal. Bread with thin smear of patte, paper thin slice of meat, and a few pieces of veggies is no sandwich. Nope. Just SADwiches here. Will definitely not come again.

My go to spot for getting Bahn Mi in the SGV. I always order the cold cut sandwich(Dac Biet) here and it’s definitely better quality than Banh Mi Che Cali and worlds better than Lee’s. $ 5 nets you 3 sandwiches and you get ‘em fast, unlike the Bahn Mi Che Cali on Garvey. The only drawback about this place is that they seem to ALWAYS mop the floor around 6:30pm on the weekdays making you smell floor wash while you order. 4 stars.

At $ 2.75 for Vietnamese Bahn Mi sandwiches and their special buy 2-get-1 free, how could you not pass that up? Well, maybe I ordered the wrong one. I got the Banh Mi Bi, which is minced or shredded pork. Normally, that’s eaten as bi cuon, or with com or bun along with fresh veggies and dipped with either nuoc mam or nuoc cham. The pork was absolutely dry and it was equivalent to chewing on rubber bands — they wouldn’t tear apart. And I know, it’s not suppose to be that rubbery. Everything else in the sandwich had the usual standards that come in a banh mi, but it too lacked flavor overall. Really disappointed, but I reminded myself it’s $ 2.75 and you get what you pay for. I was pleasantly surprised with the updated décor and how clean the place was. Very limited seating with two small coffee tables and five chairs. What’s neat and unexpected was they have flat screen TVs serving as menus, similar to all the Lee’s Sandwiches. Order by picture and number. Don’t expect phenomenal service either. The girl at the counter had no personality whatsoever. Blank look on her face and didn’t smile. English was very limited with the hard accent and it was kinda hard to understand and communicate, but I don’t even care about that. Hey, we’re not in AZ so I don’t have to care about her immigration status… Lastly, drive defensively and slowly in this plaza. Asian drivers here are seriously bad, either rude and inconsiderate, or just oblivious to everyone else. Good luck finding a spot at midday or on the weekends. So, I’m not coming back any time soon. But, I will keep this place waaay back on my list of cheap eats when I open my wallet and see only a few bills and they’re all less than Lincolns.

Woohoo a new banh mi place opened in Rosemead. I went here during the grand opening more than a month ago. They had a promotion of buy 2 get 1 free banh mi, smoothie, steamed bun and dessert. Ordered nguoi bagg(cold cut deli), nuong bagg(grilled pork) and ca phe sua da. Both cold cut deli and grilled pork were delicious. The meat was very tasty and the bread was fresh and crunchy. I tasted lemongrass in both banh mi. The only thing I didn’t like about this banh mi was the size of the bread. Seriously? Do you expect me to eat that and get full? The price was very reasonable though. Cheap delicious banh mi. I like this better than Tip Top and Banh Mi Che Cali for sure. They also sell egg roll, pâté chaud, spring rolls, xo lac xuong, xo ingot and che. It’s best to buy them to go and eat somewhere else since they don’t really have too many seats inside. 3.5 stars! I would be back to get more banh mi considering the price and how tasty it was. Banh Mi Saigon is yummylicious!
