When I don’t want to go to K-town to get some ingredient to make some Korean food I can come here, they have certain items that 99 Ranch doesn’t carry. They also have cheap produce here and a good variety from as sweet potato leaves to jujubees. I found packets of instant Mul nangmon here, great success! I know this is laughable but by making these instant cold noodles it helps my Mul nangmon addiction, saves some time and stop me from bugging family and friends to go with me to Korean restaurants. The seafood and meat department is rather slim pickings and not as robust as other Asian markets in the area. Generally clean and well lit, not a bad market for Rosemead.

Went here to buy squid and felt like there were limited varieties. I noticed that they sell gatsby hair wax which I was surprised. I am a big fan of gatsby hair wax and they sell it for a pretty cheap price too!

Please walk or take the bus here. Why the hell would I ask this? Well there is absolutely no way to park here on the weekend or on some evenings. I have been eating and shopping here on and off since the mid 90s. Take that you n00bs! none the less, there are some great things here. You have the food court that I first started to come here for years ago. Let alone the super market, dim, sum, boba, and lil shops that abound here. Pro Tip: Try to park on the street when you pull up, its sometimes much easier, if not wait near the supermarket. Be careful not to park in the 30 minute only spots if you are going for dim sum or a restaurant other than the food court. They have been known to tow vehicles here. The supermarket is an interesting one, some good some bad deals. Then again, they always try and overcharge the white guy if they can and since I dont always have a clue what is being charged other than the dollar figure, i cant always identify the sales. =\ the food court is fairly tasty and the places overall treat you right, at least when I used to eat here a couple of times a month. Some tasty vittles for sure. Ohhh and I even did a separate review for the boba corner in here… almost always do I love boba with a passion! Overall I like this place a lot but the parking lot is the worst… you have been warned…

Wow. I am impressed about this place. There are so many options in San Gabriel/Rosemead/etc. area for Asian supermarkets. This is the first one I have been to that is modern, clean, and actually pretty nice. Reminds me of what a new Mitsuwa would look like. I liked how cheap some of their produce was. as well as fresh. They also have a food court with insanely cheap Vietnamese desserts and HK café food. It also sells bubble tea(which my friend said wasn’t that good) and kitchen ware. NEGATIVE: So be wary of the bagged stuff. I bought a bag of cherries there the other day. a lot of them were smashed and/or molding. Bad… Same could say about my dissapointment with the oysters that are jarred. Very tiny. Sad… Also the pre-made food items can be quite cheap(it’s like soft shell crab, squid, pig ears, etc.). Some of them are decent. but don’t expect overally tasty. I would come here again. parking wasn’t so bad when I came at 3 pm on a Saturday but maybe it’s worse at other times.

There’s so many Asian shopping center in the area is not even funny. The Square Shopping Center is the main Asian shopping center in Rosemead, Located in between Garvey and San Gabriel Valley, just the other side of the I-10 freeway is Shun fat shopping center. Parking can be a bid difficult during peak hours. But there’s pretty of spot available in the street. There’s security present in the parking lot, so watch if the spot has time limit they will check ! Most of the shop here is more suitable for family and easily older adults, there’s no tea spot place here. But the food court and the Square Market is what most people come for also the seafood restaurant.

The remodel was genius. Younger people actually come here now instead of being dragged here by their parents. And everything is so clean! I love the open market. Has a good feel to it. Only thing that irks me is that they bought out my favorite store to make way for the new market :(Totally sucks. It was like a Sanrio-ish type of store, but I guess the Square Plus store is helping me cope with my loss :) Dim sum here is still amazing! Yum. Food court is actually still the same as ever, the same dives and the same food. And can, I just say… PLEASE don’t call this place Chinese -.- it’s not! It’s a melting pot of various Asian cultures in one. Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean — it’s all there. It’s not JUST Chinese!

Not gonna lie, I do miss my 99 Ranch Market, but damn… I HELLA buy kimchi here haha. I LOVE Galleria! The little shops and kiosks make it pretty awkward to walk past though, not gonna lie. I always feel like I’m getting tracked down if I don’t buy a Chiantown bra. I mean, look at my puppies. You really think they’re gonna fit in those small things?! Parking here is ALWAYS crap though. But I love this plaza. I’ve been here since I was a little girl, and it’s grown so much.

This is a completely remodeled Chinese Shopping Center in Rosemead. Used to be Diamond Square Shopping center and new owners completely remodeled it and re-vamped it to cater to younger, hipper generation. They also just opened a new Chinese Supermarket that is fabulous. Used to be a run-down Ranch 99 but now it is a brand new The Square Supermarket. Very bright, clean and upbeat. Reminds me of markets in Shanghai. Tons of great Restaurants like the famous Ledo Café and new Eastern Gourmet Seafood restaurant. The food court inside the market is clean and lots of selection. Fun place to bring whole family.
