A Plus Transmission Specialists

I recently got my vehicle repaired here and am very pleased. The experience overall was great. The shop was welcoming from the second I walked in. They quickly diagnosed my truck’s transmission problem and quoted me a reasonable price that beat another local transmission shop. They accommodated my schedule and now my truck is back up and running and has been going strong ever since. No complaints. Good, solid work and friendly staff. I highly recommend them and would definitely feel comfortable sending my family and friends here.

As a woman walking into an auto repair shop, I’m always a little on edge, but when the transmission on my not-​so-​new SUV went out, I had to bite the bullet. The dealership quoted me an astronomical price, so I asked A Plus for a second opinion, and I’m glad I did! They saved me roughly $ 2,000, got the work done quickly, and walked me through the process without making me feel like a «defenseless girl» in a big, scary transmission repair shop. Kudos for getting me in and out and on with my life!

I took my wife’s car to this place and dealt with Scott who is supposed to be the manager of this location, though I’m sure they just gave him the title with none of the true management responsibilities. I was told that it would be a free service to pull the transmission and diagnose the problem and if at that point I chose not to have the work completed that they recommend, it would cost $ 495 to reinstall the transmission. Seemed reasonable to me. They pulled the transmission, quoted me a price of over $ 4k to fix the issue and when I told them that I chose not to pursue such a high dollar quote, I was told that the price to re-​install the transmission was $ 895. I reminded him of our conversation and he conveniently didn’t remember that but said he’d do me a favor and only charge $ 589 to re-​install the transmission. I gave them their extra, measly almost hundred dollars just to be done with them. I hope it was worth losing a customer forever. Once I got the car home, transmission fluid was poring out of the car onto my new driveway and when I took it back to them, I was accused of doing something to the car and was told «see, this is what happens when we are nice to customers! I told you it would possibly now be a bigger problem and now you want me to fix it.» Well, come to find out, they installed a seal wrong when they put the transmission back in the car and that’s where the fluid was pouring out of. They supposedly addressed the issue, but the car still leaked after that. Outrageous behavior on Scott’s part to accuse me of doing something to the car, then when it was found to be his mechanics fault, not one apology, not one offer to address all the fluid on my new driveway, nothing. Basically threw me the keys and walked off. I’ll drive to another state for transmission repair before I’d engage with this clown show again.

Their advertisements state that there isn’t a charge to diagnose your transmission related problem. Took my daughters car to have checked out after 2 hours they call me and state that they couldn’t tell me what it would cost to repair but for $ 489 they would pull the transmission out and then they would be able to determine what it was going to cost to repair. If I opted not to have the work done I’d still have to pay the $ 489 fee. Just wanted to let you all know. I took it to eagle transmission 5 stars!

I had an idea that my transmission was acting up for over a week. Last Thursday, it finally forced me to seek help. I pulled my car into A Plus Transmission in Round Rock TX. From the very start the staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful! The manager was such a great guy that he actually told me that I might be better off having my car towed to the dealer because I might still be under warranty! How many companies would look after you like that? They even let me stay there inside the office while I waited 1 ½ hrs for my sister to come! I would recommend anyone to this place! Top notch service!

Friendly staff. Prices seemed high. But they did amazing work on my Buick. Cleanliness of the building needs to be worked on.

Wish we could write a review with no stars but, that’s not possible… guess they would get 1 star for the 1 time they fixed our truck right 2 years ago… Took our truck in for simple hard buck into 4^th gear…3 weeks later still transmission isn’t fixed, rack n pinion went out and now engine is shot! Sad to say I can’t afford 7,000 $ worth of work or more to be done so we have lost our truck!

I have to say I don’t usually write many reviews, but these guys need a 5 star for service. They have been servicing all my vehicles for over a year and are always fast and get the job done. I feel like they take time out of their day every time I come in to hop on my vehicle and explain everything they are doing for me. I feel like their service is by far the best I have come across here in Texas.

Scott was very professional and didn’t try to sell me a bunch of things didn’t need. Scott has completely turned the shop around from the previous manager. My car is now good as new?

I had bought a used SUV and thought it had transmission issues because it would «buck» on certain gears sometimes, so I took it here to get a free inspection done. I was surprised that the guy said they can look at it right away and probably will only take about 45min so I said sure. After about 1 hour the guy showed me that the transmission pan magnet/​bolt did have metal shavings on it and said it felt like my 3^rd and 4^th gears where the ones having issues. During the inspection they did notice my ball joints were very bad and should have them replaced first before worrying about the transmission which I appreciated them looking out for other issues they didn’t need to. I had planed on taking my suv back to have the transmission done but I had read the other review and changed my mind, which I’m glad
I read really good reviews on eagle transmission so I took my car there instead and told them my issues and they were able to tell me that my transmission was fine and its actually my engine that’s misfiring causing the buck. The only thing wrong with my transmission was a small leak coming from a small seal on the bottom which they replaced for around $ 120 with tax. The manager at eagle also said shaving on a automatic transmission with my mileage is normal. I’m so glad I made this decision. A plus already wanted to take my transmission apart for $ 580 to first see what was exactly wrong when there was nothing really wrong with the transmission to begin with.
I give 2 stars because I was treated well, it was inspected quick, and they did advise me about my worn ball joints. I would not recommend this place though since they didn’t know it wasn’t a transmission issue or they knew it was fine and were trying to make money.

This place screwed me royally. I brought my vehicle in there for an assessment. Of course, the guy running the shop: Ken Smith, gives me the spiel about how «he can’t believe that I have been driving my car in this condition and how it is on the verge of breaking down any day» b/​s that most mechanics do. I already knew my car needed transmission work, so I was going to get it fixed regardless. So we arrange a time for me to drop it off and I rent a car at Enterprise which is not far from the transmission shop. Well when I am supposed to pick the vehicle up, the next day at 10… which was when he told me to come… it was not ready. He tells me it will be like 2pm. So I take off and drive around. 2 turns in to 4 and I pick up the vehicle. It didn’t feel right, but I had to pick my husband up from work in Webberville, so I had to haul ass. The moment my husband gets in the vehicle and starts to drive it, he knows right away that it is not right, and since we payed the guy 3000 dollars, we were going to get it fixed correctly. So we make arrangements to take it back up there the next day. Ken tells me it will only take a couple hrs and that I could wait there. I had my 5 month old baby girl with me. I ended up being there from8−2pm! Gee that sucked very badly!!! especially for my baby girl. So when I took off with the car and it didn’t feel right (yet again) I told my husband and he let Ken know. So this time I bring the car back up there. And he tells me that he will pay the rental car fee for inconveniencing me so. Since the Enterprise had may dealings with Ken in the past, they agreed to him renting the car for me stating that he would sign the paperwork later (like he always did) so I felt I had no worries. Well, several days later, when Ken told us the car was ready and we could come pick it up we were glad we were going to get our car back. He said he was about to close but he would park it around back and leave the keys under the mat. So we drive all the way to Round Rock, and when we get there, the car is still parked inside the locked up shop! Wtf? Ken had previously told me that the number for the shop rolled over to his phone after hours, so I started calling. But did he answer? Conveniently not. So, since it was the weekend, we had to wait until Monday to get our car. When I got there, my husband told me to be sure and drive it before I left. I took it around the block and it felt worse than the first time we brought it in! I pulled back in the shop and when I got out of the car, one of the mechanics came out saying.“how was it? good, huh, because me AND the other mechanic drove it and it felt great!”. I was shocked. Like he was prefacing what ever I had to say with his «expert opinion» to discredit whatever I had to say! So I enter the shop where Ken was and I told him that I would let my husband be the judge of what had been done, but I didn’t think it was better. So, when my husband got in after work and knew right away it was wrong, he called Ken, who copped a major attitude. We ended up having to call corporate and take it to a different branch. Now, Enterprise has informed me that Ken is refusing to pay the bill for the rental car merely because he screwed us from the getgo! Wow. So know a collection agency is trying to go after me for a 338 dollar bill for a rental fee that Ken originally agreed to pay. Very wrong on so many levels if you ask me. I suggest anyone to go anywhere else BUT A Plus Transmissions!

Gotta say, these guys are great!!! Especially Scott, the Manager… Started having transmission problems with my 2003 BMW 330i so I stopped in to see what the problem was. First off, Scott was super courteous and offered a Free Diagnosis. Looking around the shop I immediately noticed the cleanliness. As a former ASE Master Technician, I can tell right off the bat that this shop is indeed professional!
Turns out a leaking cooler line had caused the transmission to overheat and was in need of serious repairs. Since I was already looking to change vehicles to a truck or SUV, I elected not to repair the vehicle and sell it «as is» rather than invest more $ into a car that I had no intention of keeping. Even still, they did not charge me a dime, were more than happy to replace the fluid and wished me well. Where as most shops would throw a fit and try to «hard sell» the repair, these guys showed true professionalism and gave the the information that I needed to make my own decision.
Great shop, great manager and overall wonderful experience… I will indeed be taking any future repairs to Scott and A+!!!

AWESOME! I went in on a Saturday afternoon, and they were so friendly and helped me right away! They actually said nothing was wrong with my car and showed me where the leak I thought I had was coming from. They didn’t suggest any extraneous fixes (every other car place at least suggests a new air filter). And they charged me nothing. It took maybe 10 minutes. So great!
