Solid donuts but they sell out quick. I went in at 11 on a Friday and they didn’t have a single donut left! I’d gone in the week before at the same time and they still had some donuts left but the selection wasn’t great. It was pretty busy when I went the first time so it makes sense to make more donuts! Also, it gets crowded inside with the line and a lot of unneeded seating(from what I observed)

So each Thursday for too many weeks — I get to spend my morning/afternoon getting chemotherapy. My sister discovered Donut Taco Palace while visiting me and hunting for something to bring me to eat. I have never even been there — they close before I get out of treatment. They may never know the happiness they have brought me! #1 — salsa is delish. Not too spicy for me but just spicy enough for my sister I have tried many of the options — I opt for the simple choices — egg/cheese/potato, egg/sausage, egg/bacon as I can tolerate them best. But we tried many of the choice. YUMYUMYUM Only challenge is that they do run out. Some of the simpler tacos are pre-prepped and others are made to order. GOEARLY! We even bought extras to have the next day at home — smart move. Still delicious!!!

My favorite place for breakfast tacos and/or donuts. They do exactly what they are called: donuts and tacos. I like that I can get a vegetarian breakfast taco. The only thing I don’t like is that you have to sign for your credit card receipt. The total is usually around $ 5, so I wish they’d just run the card and let me leave without signing.

Best breakfast tacos I have ever had! Love the migas taco. It uses red tortilla chips and just the right amount of spice. I stop here EVERY time I am in the area. Yum!!!

Where do I start? Apple fritters as big as your face? Old fashioned cake doughnuts, perfectly glazed? Ekrich-sausage-stuffed kolaches? Breakfast tacos with fresh, homemade salsa so good you’d drink it from the container?(Seriously, they should bottle and sell it.) This place is a local gem! Mom-and-pop atmosphere, super friendly staff, and I can walk out of there with a box full of doughnuts and a sack of tacos for around $ 10.

First time moving to the area and I’m heavily into checking out the local mom and pops stores! I’ve found some awesome gems(diamonds/sapphires/emeralds) and I’ve had some awful ones(fools gold/cubic zirconia/quartz)… but at least I gave it a try! So today was my first time with Donut Taco Palace. The line was long and more people were coming in. So that was a good sign! It’s been here for a bit and if they truly suck, then there would be no repeat business. I ordered their breakfast tacos… Bacon, egg and cheese(for the family) and then some bean and cheese(those are for me and only me!!!) Ordered a few donuts… and that was it. I agree with the others that stated that the food was just fine and it was good but nothing special that shouted out, «HOLYCOW! NOWTHATWAS A FINETACO!» I enjoyed it though! I will be coming back here for morning items when I’m lazy! It’s not a bad place at all and I’m glad I stopped by!

LOVE the breakfast tacos. Their other stuff is good, but the breakfast tacos are my favorite. The cheese they put on is there so the taco is cheesy, but not a ridiculous amount so that the tacos are not greasy, which I appreciate. They can also have you in and out pretty quickly, which is good on mornings I need to get to work. Yummy tacos with super friendly service-a good start to your day.

The bacon cheese egg taco with salsa is one of the best around town. Easy, simple, quick and delightful.

If you’re looking to pick up a quick breakfast on the go, DONOT go here. Whether you order 2 tacos, 3 tacos or a single donut your wait time will be 20 to 30 minutes. This place is under supplied, under staffed and overrated. You also need extra time to make sure you get the correct change, because their math skills are atrocious. The Hispanic woman at the register always rounds the total up to the next dollar. Even if the next dollar is 98 cents away. So if you’re hungry and have 30 minutes to spare, find a good resturant and enjoy a sit down breakfast. I’m being generous when I give the food, the service and the prices a one star.

Delectable fresh kolaches in a great selection at a low price. That’s about as good as it gets. If I lived in Round Rock I’m sure I’d be a regular here.

Went here Saturday morning and was happy to see croissant breakfast sandwiches along with breakfast tacos and all priced well. The tacos were great but the croissant sandwich was perfect. The kids loved the donuts as well! Great find

The owner is a brother to the owner of DTPIII on Lamar, which is my favorite of these Palaces. This joint offers up the same good ass tacos made fresh or grab-n-go. They have the same delicious salsa, breakfast sandwiches, kolaches and assorted donuts. With a couple of exceptions. Service is usually good here. Friendly folks always smiling. I don’t think that their donuts are always fresh though. I have gotten some from here a couple of times and they have tasted like they’re a day old. Having said that understand it has only happened a couple of times. I like that they open at 0500 and are open on Holidays. Makes it an easy and convenient go to especially when I’m not in the mood to cook breakfast! One big complaint is they don’t mark the tacos. It is a pain in the ass to have to unwrap multiple tacos to find the one you ordered.

Went here this morning with my husband in search of some decent cheap breakfast. I have been driving by the shop for over 3 months and have always meant to try it so was really looking forward to this. We each got a couple of breakfast tacos(chorizo and egg, nopales and egg, potato sausage and egg, Mexican style), and a kolache(sausage jalapeño and cheese, and the regular sausage and cheese), coffee and a donut. We were very satisfied with everything, the tacos were so good, my husband thought they were better than torchys!(price — wise, for sure, but also taste-wise). The donuts were perfect, I can’t wait to go back and try the apple fritters and some others. Coffee was surprisingly good too. I am sad to report that we may not be back here for a while as we’re moving to south austin in a week but hoping to fit in at least one more visit in before then Highly recommended! P. S. despite the rain and bad weather there was a steady stream of customers coming in for to-go orders.(We decided to eat in. Plenty of seating since it seems people go in to pick up, mostly.)

Mexican style breakfast tacos. Enough said. Neighborhood mom ‘n pop establishment, serving up delicious food at reasonable prices, with a smile. What’s not to love?

I love this place! Me and the family eat here every Sunday. Everything is so delicious! I’ve tried several different things here. Their croissants and biscuits are so soft and fluffy and they melt in your mouth I believe everything is made from scratch. Their donuts are also delicious so soft and sweet. My kids look forward to their donuts every Sunday. Oh I also like the fact that its family owned everyone that works here are very friendly and helpful.

The only place I know that sells all you could want for breakfast: Kolaches(meat and fruit), cake donuts, eclairs, biscuit sandwiches, croissant sandwiches, sprinkles, donut holes, chocolate covered donut holes, coffee, juice, milks(chocolate, strawberry, plain), 10 variations of breakfast taco… And probably some other things I’m not thinking of. They take all major credit cards– including Amex. 20 seats if you’re inclined to stay. Clean bathroom. Plenty of parking. Seriously, I have never had a negative experience.

J and I were intrigued and laughed when we first saw the sign, Donuts and Tacos, many months ago; as the two seemed an odd pairing. It was only after Unilocaling that we discovered that it was in fact breakfast tacos and not regular tacos. Breakfast foods unite! I decided to stay close to home and forgo the usual messiah that is Round Rock Donuts. Proximity is everything. However, after trying D&T’s donuts I became forlorn that I had not gone just a bit further out of my way. Don’t get me wrong, their donuts were decent, just nothing special or memorable. On the plus side, the place was clean and the woman behind the counter was pleasant through my indecisiveness. On the negative, they were just«eh» donuts which seemed a little more expensive. Also, their donut box was too small which caused additional bags to be carried for only 8 donuts. Although next time I’ll pass on the donuts, I may just be in the market for a good breakfast taco. To be continued…

So we laughed when we saw the sign saying«Donuts and Tacos!», but we also knew we had to come in and try it. Upon entering the store, I was struck by how similar it looked to just about every donut shop I’ve ever been to, but with one exception: they had a little taco warmer on the counter. I ordered a chorizo, potato and egg taco with a chocolate donut. My girlfriend ordered a bacon and potato taco with a chocolate twist donut. I found my taco to be good, but not exceptional and I felt the same about my donut. The bacon taco was good, but the real hit was the twist donut. It was a perfect consistency and not over sweet. Definitely the best of the four items we bought. As a first experience, I think it was a good one, but I wasn’t exactly stunned by how good the food was. However, the service was great and I’d be willing to come in again and try something new.
