My son loves this place as they are also sponsors for his high school. I almost always order the same thing the nibblerz meal. The fries and chicken are usually always fresh and crispy when I order. The size of the chicken strips are smaller than Raising Canes and not as much flavor but still good for fast food chicken. But when it comes to service even at the drive thru they could be a lot better. It took two people(kids) to give me my one bag of food and drink and on top of they they decided to throw my credit card and receipt into the bag even when I’m right there to take it and gave me a blank stare for doing so. They obviously needed more training in customer service. Will come back for the food only because my son likes it.

Trip 1: Well, since I have never been to a Zaxby’s before, I thought I would give them a try. So I zipped in and went inside. The interior was nice and clean. John B. gives a good description of the inside so I won’t go into detail. You order at the window which I did. I ordered chicken strips mild and the normal sides that came with them. The service was fine and the chicken strips were good. The crinkle cut fries were standard fast food style. I tend to like crinkle fries over other type of fast food fries so I thought they were good. Overall I liked what I had. Trip 2: I was craving chicken strips so I scootered(I made that word up!) into Zaxby’s drive thru and ordered the standard strips with the normal fixings and a drink, I was the second car so it did not take long. The drive thru service was good and all went well. When I got home and ate the meal is was fine. So would I go back. Yes for fast food chicken it is good!

Supported Zaxby’s ever since they open here in Austin but I’m very disappointed how the kids have run this great place into the ground. Attended this location when it first open and everything was great. Now, this place looks like hell. The kids that work here do not pay attention to people that come in, drop stuff on the floor & put it back on your tray or to-go bag that is being delivered to the customer, do not clean tables or take out the trash. I was going to dine-in until I could not find not«one» table that was clean. There were three people standing behind the desk just standing around & the cashier that took my order could not remember my face or order after only waiting about 4 minutes for my order. The drink area unclean & floors were very sticky. For now, I might have to ride to the Cedar Park location until they clean this one up. This review will be going to the corporate office & the owner of this location.

I love their chicken. Best fast food chicken ever. The staff is very young. I think they need an adult to lead by example. But that doesn’t take away from the food

Update and upgrade of prior poor review. Returned to get son quick lunch. Food exponentially better(and tenders larger and better cooked!) than last visit, and dude who took my order and served me in drive-thru was exceedingly nice. Another example of why I’ll always give a place a second chance. Nice work!

As I mentioned in my previous review I typically stick with the sandwiches because the tenders were too skimpy for the amount of money to pay. However, my best friend raves over the wingz and thingz so I tried them and I am addicted. They must have read the reviews because their tenders are much bigger. Everything is still flavorful and nothing greasy.

I just picked up some grub for the fam. The service was good and the food was good. Whats up with the skimping on fries? Will try you guys again. Maybe next time you wont have a shortage on potatoes. overall good but there are other options!

I’ve had Zaxbys a couple of times, and this location was no different. You gotta try it! Their chicken is the best, fries are so delicious, and the Zax sauce is a must. Give it a go! Great price for great food!

Nothing like having the kitchen staff scream and yell and bitch about having to make your salad –AGAIN– because they can’t read«no tomato» on their screen. Sheesh, if making chicken is THATSTRESSFUL maybe you need an easier job.

Wow was I surprised! Got a coupon in the mail for a free salad so stopped by expecting small, dry and barely edible, what i got was a big dinner salad with bacon cucumbers tomato fresh lettuce, and surprisingly, excellent chicken breast! Friendly staff, really good salad, I’ll be back, thanks!

Tried these guys 3 times — probably won’t be back. There are much better wing places close by. Wing stop is a lot better. Food is fast but not great.

Quick and easy, went here for lunch with honey yesterday and tried their chicken strips. The strips aren’t too large but are filling and come with a yummy Zaxby’s sauce. The french fries were a little weird to me, but I did enjoy the Texas toast I totally wasn’t supposed to have. They also sell some nice salad options pitched as «Zalads». It is a pretty good up and coming chain and has a drive thru as well for those that don’t want to sit there and eat lunch while a mother of three ignores her screaming at the top of her lungs child for a full 5 minutes before taking him outside to give him the business. I don’t have children so I try to keep an open mind about her situation, but I wanted to shove a chicken tender in that kid’s mouth to shut him up.

People kill me. They will seriously bitch whenever they can just to bitch. Zaxby’s is exactly what you expect it to be: fast, fried, good. The employees are super friendly, the food is good. I had chicken sliders and they were delish. The hubs had a chicken sandwich and he loved his as well. Yes, the toast is greasy but hell, what do you want in Texas toast?! I fee like people should quit comparing it to Raising Cane’s and just appreciate it for what it is… delicious, fast, and friendly.

Drive thru service at this location is very poor. They gave me the wrong drink, wrong change and forgot my ketchup which I asked for specifically. Go to a different location or don’t pull away without checking everything in your order carefully.

Tip: I don’t eat meat so I can not tell you about the chicken… I haven’t been to a Zaxby’s since I packed my bags and headed out west well over a decade ago. They were pretty popular in my home state so I was intrigued to see what was new or different since I’d last set foot on their land. This place is a recent addition to the HEB corner at Red Bud and Gattis School. Been here a couple of times when quick fried snacks were in order for me and the nieces. The cheddar cheese balls, onion rings and mushrooms are all pretty good. They’ve been freshly cooked and crisp both times I’ve gotten them. My nieces always scarf down cheese things before I get a good sample and they say they love them. The onion rings aren’t heavily battered and have a good flavor balance between onion and batter. The mushrooms claim to be spicy but they aren’t. We really like the spicy Zaxbys dipping sauce(has a bit of horseradish). I hope to return to try some of the desserts next time.

Will I return? Sure, if I’m in that area & it’s between them, Jack n The Box and Sonic… would I seek them out? — nah. I prefer Canes any day. At least for the price you also get a cole slaw! My pic says it all. Fries were bomb!!, the tender/strips were puny as hell. Toast was buttery, and customer service was nice. but quantity, quality and price aren’t parallel.

First-time-ever visit on 10/10/2015 at ~7:30pm. Might go back, but only if in a hurry and hungry for nothing special. PROS: — Person greeted my party at the door and held it open it for us — Staff were clearly hustling and trying to keep up with the busy dining room traffic — Baby-changing stations are in both men’s and women’s restrooms — One order was just the sandwich yet it came with fries and they said to just have it at no charge as the cooks were busy and don’t normally pay attention since most customers order a meal — There are two Coca-Cola Freestyle machines which offer many carbonated beverage choices, along with water, and the ability to obtain refills without charge — Both the sweet and unsweet tea were good — They have seating that can accommodate wheelchair/handicapped customers — Ample foot room at two-person booths — Order was filled promptly, even though the dining area and drive-through were quite busy — The bun for the grilled chicken sandwich was toasted and buttered — Restrooms were clean NEUTRALS: — Baby-changing stations have narrow beds — Crinkle-cut french fries are similar to Ore-Ida brand available at grocery stores — French fries have a lot of salt on them — There are only two highchairs available — The Chicken Fingers Sandwich is served on thick toast vs a bun — The décor is busy and loud with the muted flat-panel TV just blending in with all the colors and shapes — Paper cups for ketchup are small so pull them out to flute them or plan to use multiple cups or haul your plate to the ketchup dispenser CONS: — Parking lot is a dark at night, with limited spaces — The menu board cannot be easily viewed unless you’re up close to the cashiers so it makes it awkward to be in the way of other customers who know what they want and for the cashiers since they don’t want to ignore you and keep their eyes on you while you’re reading the board. It makes customers feel rushed and harried. Also, it is in a highly-congested area near the order pick up and beverage/condiment area. — The noise level is quite loud. It would be difficult to hear your order called from your table. You must remain standing in the nearby crowded customer area. — There are pedestrians and drive-through traffic competing so be extra-observant — Pendant lighting over booths have bulbs so bright it feels like an operating table – truly unpleasant — Baby-changing stations are in handicapped stalls so you may have to wait to either change your baby or use the stall — If you use a walker or wheelchair, you may have to wait outside until a parent finishes with the baby-changing station in the handicapped stall, as the restroom open floor space is cramped — Men’s restroom does not offer enough privacy for urinal users so you can see urine streams from the order-placing area when the door is opened — Drink and condiment area are too cramped and too close to the order/pickup areas so there is a continuous traffic jam happening. They need to consider reducing the row of two-person booth seating by one booth, to give more room for the drink station area. If you have mobility issues or a wheelchair this area will be a challenge. — Staff trying to keep the drink station clean often accidentally swipe your arm or shoulder with their wet, filthy rag as they move about — The height of the Coca-Cola Freestyle machine touch-screen is a challenge to children so there is a continual mess of syrup in the beverage area — They have styrofoam cups and do not offer a means to recycle them — The meat on the grilled chicken sandwich was wet/squishy like it wasn’t cooked enough — The toasted and buttered bun and toast for the sandwiches were overly buttered and quite greasy and messy — This is apparently where parents and guardians of loud, ill-mannered children go out for a meal. It was not pleasant due to the noise and the children running about unsupervised. — Upon leaving, the door opens out to the left but the handicapped curb cutout is behind the door to the left so you must first let the door fully close in order to get past it to use the handicapped curb cutout

Entering into Zaxby’s you get a «fun» atmosphere like a Popeye’s chicken, but with a local flair. Just like a Popeye’s it is garishly decorated, but Zaxby’s panders to the local community by adorning the walls with posters of local things(eg: posters of Willie Nelson, local High School mascots, and the Round Rock Express). The lighting was harsh with overly bright(halogen?) lights that unnecessarily heat the room. The order area is cramped and has poor traffic flow. The menu board is located behind the counter, and placing it on the wall adjacent to the register would have made it easier to read. The cramped drink station does not have enough room to accommodate people getting drinks, people getting napkins/ketchup, and those trying to wait for their food or throw away their trash. Poorly designed. It took 16 minutes to get two chicken strip plates, and a chicken club sandwich. The french fries are thick crinkle cut, and obviously cooked from a frozen product. They are okay, but were seasoned with a heavy hand and are salty. I wish, however, the the person over seasoning the fries had cooked the Texas toast because the toast was so over salted(WHOSALTSTOAST!!!) I considered taking my sandwich back. After eating half my sandwich I could only taste«salt», and it was overwhelming. The chicken, however, was good. Moist inside, crispy breading, and correctly seasoned. It was a pleasant surprise after the salty beginning. Ten minutes after eating and I’m still shocked by the lingering saltiness in my mouth. If you have ever been to Raising Cane’s you will be familiar with the all-chicken menu of a Zaxby’s. However, this salty shrine isn’t anywhere as good. Nothing could wash out the salty taste or quench my thirst after eating here — not even the poorly mixed Dr. Pepper. I cannot recommend Zaxby’s and encourage you to either go somewhere else… or just go hungry.

Fourth day of opening. It was busy at drive thru and parking is very limited. Interior dining is small yet has a homey feeling to it. Line was long to order but service was super fast!!! I ordered 20 traditional wings. This is the first chicken place I’ve been to where you have to make separate orders if you want different sauces so it is a couple bucks more. Zaxby is all about chicken. They have salad with fried chicken. Fried chicken sandwich. Chicken wings of course. Chicken. Chicken. Chicken. Their fried chicken and wings are good. I’m sure it’s a lot better dining in. After a drive home and setting up the table at home, the tenders and fries arent as crispy. The moisture of the to go box also reduces he crisp taste. I love how you get additional sauce upon request(and no charge for the sauces!!) Super friendly and fast service. Will definitely be back to try other items.
