It is so sad to see Supreme Dragon close. I have been coming here since 1998 and this is the BEST noodle soup place in Southern California. I tried several other places hoping to find its equal — so far no success. Noodle soup is watery elsewhere… Even in Taiwan(which I visit twice a year) it is difficult to find its equal. The only comparable place in S. CA is probably Lou-Wai-Lou 樓外樓 in Arcadia, but that is very far away. A few articles have indicated that the owner had plans to re-open and the staff was not good. Actually when I visited there, the staff was just fine. In any case, I hope it re-opens soon.

The stupid new owners ran this place into the ground. My family had been going to the Dragon for 8 years. The new owners fired most of the existing staff and reduced the number of waiters on the evening shift. Service was immediately slow because they were short-handed and inexperienced. Then, the new owners redecorated. They zip-tied bamboo all over the restaurant and spray painted the live plants green. I put a suggestion in their box when they first took over to not make any changes. They changed everything and it immediately went downhill. The food and service used to be fantastic. The new owners ruined a great restaraunt. 4 years ago, definitely a 5 star rating. My Korean friend told me «never go to an asian joint that’s not crowded». Supreme Dragon used to always be crowded. It’s a shame that they’re gone.

I agree. The food here is good but the service was beyond horrible. I can’t wait until you guys re-open. Where am I going to get my 抓餅 now?!):

You would think after almost 30 years they may know how to speak/read/write simple English. Change the name of the new location to Supreme Idiots. Your business, your staff, your product are all a reflection of you. As they say«look in the mirror first for the answers to your problems». Blame it on everyone else. The world we live in today. Grow up before you reopen.

Didn’t find out that this place was closed until I read an article on yahoo. It’s sad to see this place go. The food was good and the wait was always long whenever I went. Last time I’ve been here was when I was a freshman in college(about a couple years ago) and I’ve noticed that their quality and service started going down. Honestly, It’s not uncommon for these restaurants to have subpar service. When I was a kid, we had to wait a long time to get a seat and the servers will. We always ordered the beef noodle soup, scallion pancakes, fried pork with vegetable rice, gyozas, and other good stuff they had. Despite them closing abruptly, I really hope the owners can find the servers and hosts that really care about their customers. Hopefully Supreme Dragon(Yi Tiao Long) will come back soon.

Writing this review after I saw an article about the place closing down. The restaurant itself was a bit outdated but I’ve been coming here since I was a toddler and continued coming here until I went to college. The food was always great in a homey sense. Nothing fancy but consistently good. I always got the Guo Tie &XLB. My mom always got the Huntun Tang. My dad always got the niu rou mian and sometimes we’d share a Yu Xiang Rou Shi. However, I am excited to hear that the restaurant will be opening elsewhere with a new staff. Like a lot of people mentioned, the staff was pretty awful. I’ve gotten used to it after coming here for so long but it helped that we’ve been coming for years and that we spoke the language. I’m still very sad to see this place close. It’s been a staple for my entire life and I will miss it so much. I will rush to the new restaurant as soon as I hear it opens!!!

Ordered four items: xiao long bao, beef soup, beef roll wraps, and stir fried shanghainese noodles. Mediocre. The XLB skin was thick and no soup in my baos. And a lot of them broke because they stuck on the pan and when removing it tore. My beef soup which I thought was beef noodle soup had no noodles but that’s okay, maybe I did order just beef soup… Which is so strange. Beef roll wraps. I would say would order again. Sweet and juicy! Most places are dry so this is good. The noodles were super oily but nonetheless average and good. Service was alright. You need to know Chinese or can at least know how to recognize characters to order because you tally up on another paper accordingly to the menu. Cash only.

They are always out of suan cai(pickled vegetables). This is the 4th time we have come to eat and wether it’s lunch or dinner, weekend or weekday, they always run out of suan cai. Today we arrived for lunch at noon and they were out. How can a restaurant be so unprepared all the time? Especially when it is a very popular condiment that Supreme Dragon is known for. I find this to be unprofessional. We overheard other customers complaining but we kept our complaints to ourselves. Not worth complaining, in our opinion, because this is an ongoing issue that they don’t care to fix anytime soon.

We have been coming here for 25+ years. We love their soup dumplings, Shanghai sticky rice cakes, green onion pancake and beef noodle soup. Last time we came, we ordered take out and they had it ready in 20 min. Cash only!

There are very specific things I order here: Jian Bao(pan-fried pork buns) — Love them! One of my very favorite dishes. Beef Noodle Soup — Love the meat. Very tender and delicious. Broth is also very solid. Beef Roll — The beef has a very strong flavor. A little sweeter than most places but I like it. The other stuff is all gravy on top of that but those three dishes hit the mark for me! Cheers!

Supreme dragon has outlasted them all in Hong Kong Plaza. Ive been coming here since I was a child in elementary school. We get the pot stickers, or rice cake with pork. My mom use to bring our family here when rowland didnt have as many asian choices. Still supreme dragon has a special place in my heart. The food and the service are ok, but nostalgia brings me back. they are open quite late and get pretty busy for lunch. the food comes out quick and remember its CASH only.

Supreme Dragon has amazing green onion pancake! My bf and I ordered two entrees as well which was served family style. Both were also really tasty and portion size was nice. We went on a weekend night and the restaurant was packed. We were crammed in a corner, which wasn’t my favorite place to sit, but there was no where else to sit. The service was okay, but since it was so busy I can understand. The fact that a lot of the customers were older Chinese and Taiwanese people is a really good sign too. They always know we’re the best restaurants are;p

This place doesn’t seem like what it was once before. I’ve been here a couple times now, and for some reason, everything just didn’t taste very good. I can’t really describe it. I had the rice cakes, it was just mushy and lacked flavor. The beef noodles didn’t have much flavor either. The pork chop rice was just whatever. I guess the only good thing still is the pickled veggie on the side was the only thing that was tasty.

**CASHONLY** My go-to restaurant for beef noodle soup! My parents have been taking me here since I was little. Now I take all my friends here. The soup is super rich and the noodles are always fresh and chewy! You also get the option of choosing between thin or thick noodles. Must try the thick noodles! They also have a wide selection of other food items like shared-Chinese style dishes that you eat with rice. Their small side dishes are also really good! I would recommend getting the Shredded Bean Curd Salad(Liang Ban Gan Su), seaweed salad, and cucumbers. Prices are decent. The only downside is that it’s cash only but that’s normal in rowland heights

Once upon a time, this was pretty much one of the only decent places in the Rowland Heights area for beef stew noodle and dumplings. Since then, several competitors have emerged and they admittedly make both dishes so much better! My family USED to come here… right up until we saw them putting back rice from another table into another red pot to serve to OTHER guests! So disgusting!!! Now, I totally understand that Grade«C» stands for«Chinese»… but c’mon, that’s just plain wrong!!! «C» you later, Supreme Dragon — peace out!

This is the first place that I can say the Taiwanese zhajiangmian is comparable in taste to the Korean jjajangmyeon. It was really good! I also liked the dumplings. I’m taking off a star because they ran out of the pickled veggie condiment that goes really well with a lot of dishes and the hot and sour soup was a little bland.

I like the free pickled vegetable here that they provide on every table. It’s the perfect combo of sweet and sour and salty! It mixes really well with rice !!! I also like the seaweed appetizer which tastes like raw garlic since it’s covered with raw garlic. The chao nian gao *stir fried sticky rice cake* is kind of(really) oily but I like to eat it. I love the texture! The si chuan stew thing is pretty much like an inch of chili oil with stew. It’s too spicy for me but I can tell that if I liked spicy foods, I would like this … The san bei ji *three cup chicken* tastes good but I don’t like to deal with bones in my food. I remember liking the dumplings but I haven’t ordered them recently so I don’t remember why… eHHH if this place didn’t have those free pickled vegetables I would like it only half as much. My family of four went through two jars last time! Also I can only remember this place being rated B or C. I cannot remember ever seeing it have an A. But that just means it’s more authentic or something according to my parents who do not care about ratings b/c China restaurants are often dirty.

3.5 stars XLB– not the best xlb I’ve ever had, but not the worst. It’s a level or two below mama lu’s and dtf. It’s still juicy and the pork is soft. The dumpling skin isn’t the most attractive, but be fooled by that. It’s worth a try. Plus, they give LOTS of ginger =] Beef Noodle Soup– great quality meat and tendon. The broth would be even better if it wasn’t so oily though. I say its worth ordering as long as you don’t drink the whole soup. Ask for the preserved veggies because it’s one ofthe best I’ve had. Fried Pork Buns– ehh this was a slight miss for me. The pork was good, but the bun was not cutting it for me. A bit soggy. But that could be due to all the oil that was used to dry the bottom of the bun. However, when you lift up a bun you will notice a puddle of oil on the plate. No joke. I’m serious. Way too oily. Probably won’t order this next time. Service is slow… they’re not the most attentive. Keep in mind they have two sides of the restaurant. Cash only. Theyre complimentary«lemon ice tea» tastes more like sweet tea.

Gotttta love the food here. Yeah, the place is outdated, kinda dumpy, and it could be cleaner, but who cares when the food is so damn goood!!! Mouth watering delicious. I LOVE: — Pull apart fried pancake — Xiao long bao(Shanghai style soup dumplings) — Wonton soup — Vegetable/Meat stuffed pancake bun — Pan fried dumplings — Spicy beef noodle soup with thick noodles — Fried green onion pancake — Boiled dumplings Other helpful tidbits: — Open til late(around 11pm) — FAST service, food comes pretty quickly — CASH only — Limited number of menu items(good items though) if you eat here late at night.

Apparently they’re known for their beef noodle soup and since I’ve been obsessing with them lately due to the weather, I was on a mission! (-) it’s CASHONLY! So before my beef noodle soup mission, I was on ATM mission): (+) beef noodle soup was yummy but the broth is not as flavorful as Ding’s garden next to coconut bay in my opinion. The braised beef was soft and delicious though and the noodle tasted fresh and soft (+) cashew cut chicken dinner special comes with a bowl of rice and a bowl of their daily soup (+) legit hot tea (-) a bit greasy for my personal taste but I suppose that’s normal for Chinese food so I can’t really complain much (-) service could’ve been much better. I felt like the stepchild waiting for attention
