Nice place. Good food. Smart plating. Good service. Walnut shrimp is a must-have. Moo Sho pork is good but the«pancakes» are terrible. If owner reads this, «pancakes» ruin this dish. Extra dollar for fried rice is a waste.

Outstanding food and wonderful service. I am a Thai food enthusiast and was pleasantly surprised by the number of Thai dishes on the menu. The Massaman curry with seafood was SCRUMPTIOUS, as was my husbands General Tso chicken. The HOTANDSOUR soup was far and away the BEST I’VEEVERHAD. Although this was our first time here, we are soon to become regulars. Thank you Unilocal!I always read reviews before I visit a new restaurant, and the reviews here hit the nail on the head — FANTASTICFOOD!!!

Seriously the best Chinese food restaurant ever. My favorites are the Spicy Kung Pao and the Pad Thai, I always get mine with tofu. My husband and I are going to move out of state soon and my biggest fear is that I won’t find a place to get Kung Pao as good as the Golden Pot makes it.

Golden pot has the best asian food in the Rowlett area! So far my favorites are the Walnut Shrimp and Jumbo Shrimp Fried Rice. Delivery service is fast and friendly.

This was the first Chinese meal I have enjoyed in 4 years since moving to Rockwall. Wife had lemon chicken and I had the orange chicken with brown rice and egg rolls. Was referred to Golden Pot by neighbors on …and am so pleased. Terrible evening rush hour traffic both ways at 6:00PM! But I’d do it again. The inside of the restaurant is very nice and quiet. Hostess super nice. Not knowing any ordering secrets my bill was $ 27.00 way too much, but THEFOODWASGREAT and I had been craving GOOD local Chinese food for 4 years. The«Chinese“restaurants in Rockwall are awful. The good news is that we both have leftovers for later. Lunch menu has 6.95 specials. Speaking of menus I could mot find one on line so called and asked for hat we wanted. Picked up a very cool one at the restaurant.

This is a very good choice for a moderately priced meal. The food is delicious and decently proportioned. Quiet atmosphere with friendly service. I was concerned the last few times I went because there were so few people there and I like it so much. I asked our server about it and she explained that they deliver and do a huge amount of take out business. I highly recommend them.

This is definitely a cut above most Chinese restaurants. The waitress was excellent, the food was delicious and nicely presented, and the price was reasonable. If you are a vegetarian, you have many options. The teriyaki tofu was the best prepared I have ever eaten. My husband had a meaty dish that he was equally pleased with. Will be going back as often as I can.

Pretty impressed with this place! Our food was fresh and delivered quickly. It was a tad overpriced for the options which is why I didn’t give it five stars, but other than that we will order here again!

This place is Awesome. I have been here twice so far with a order Togo and dine in. So far I have gotten the chicken Lomein and the Orange chicken I love both of them. This is my new favorite place to go an if your ever near it you need to try it out. First visit got the chicken lomein Togo it was really good and fresh. Second visit got there 1 Min after lunch specials ended, the guy at the front was kind to give us lunch specials 1 Min after lunch ended. Really appreciated it «stuck I. Traffic« I like the look and taste of the food it’s my new favorite place to go an I will definitely only go here lol. The inside of the restaurant the décor is nice and kinda neat . I like the music and atmosphere, and it’s very very clean. Prices are good and the food is amazing. My friend really likes the shrimp fried rice, when he says this place is good 59 times on our first visit I assume he loves the place now lol. I recommend the chicken lomein and orange chicken, next on my to try list is sweet sour chicken and maybe combo lomein.

This restaurant is way better than going to any Chinese Buffet in DFW! Everything on their menu taste great and I especially love their Hot n Sour soup! Their prices are very reasonable. Owner and wait staff are all very friendly. Very nice find in Rowlett.

Pretty good spicy hibachi chicken, and fried rice. Doesn’t seem so greedy as other places. I’d go back. Had take out. Never eat inside

I made reservations for ten people via the internet, and was honestly surprised when we showed up, that the table was set, ready and waiting for us when we arrived. Online I included the information that one of our groups was celebrating her 21st birthday, and the owner knew about it when we arrived. So it seems that the online reservation and ordering system works well. All the food we got was wonderful! I had number E18 Spicy Yellow Curry with shrimp. I had never eaten anything like it, and I LOVED it! Amazingly, it included a dozen large shrimp, much more than most Asian restaurants include in their meals. I had a small bowl of delicious hot and sour soup as well. At the end of the meal, the owner/wait person brought a special cake for the birthday girl! We are thrilled that we have discovered a really good Chinese/Asian restaurant here in Rowlett, Texas, not far from where we live, and we plan to return frequently!

I ordered take out for my family, Front staff is very nice and efficient. Restaurant dining room appears clean, lots of seating, good ambiance. All of the dishes were very tasty, I had Sichuan Beef, my parents had Broccoli Beef and Kung Pao chicken. One bad thing that happened: my brother got sick from his order of Combination Singapore Mei Fun noodles, which had shrimp. Maybe the shrimp were bad? I dunno, but he went to doctor who determined that it was a mild case of food poisoning, so i have to give this experience two stars.

There’s nothing«wrong» about this place. It’s just a bad value proposition. I’m not going to use any hyperbole like it is «terrible», but it’s bad to be charged $ 20 before tipping for an entrée and as soup. The food is within the norm of American-Chinese delivery. It’s sweeter than normal by a wide margin, but my guess is the average customer would tolerate this, if not even mistake it for good. If your exposure to what Chinese food could or should be is limited, and if you’ve no understanding for the relative value of money for what you are getting, then I can see giving this place anything other than 1 star. But for $ 20, go get yourself 3 combos from your favorite mega chain, 3 entrees from First Chinese BBQ, a bento and a drink from Genroku, 3 entress/lunch specials from Sichuanese Cuisine, 1 all you can eat from the various Korean BBQ establishments in Dallas, etc. For a comparable in the area, try Fortune House in Sachse for equally greasy Chinese food, but the owners are a sweet, Asian couple. Or, try Kung Pow Asian Diner in Plano where the grease is much less pronounced, and the mixed Cambodian/Chinese owner lady does all the ingredient buying herself. $ 3.00 for a delivery fee is also out of line unless those $ 3 are being taken and handed directly to the delivery guy. This is where problems really enter. Each entrée needs to be at least $ 2 less than where it is at, maybe as much as $ 4, depending on where the reader of this review is located. To be fair, the delivery fee is only $ 1 on Golden Pot’s website, but the $ 3 comes from other business partners. Maybe those are bad partners. In any event, figure out what you want to be: a respectable Asian diner that commands the asking price, or a run-of-the-mill junk Chinese food delivery place. Don’t ask to get pricing from the former while delivering the latter.

I had my first visit to this establishment the other day. We started with the crab wantons which were good. For the entrée we got the walnut shrimp and the Happy Family. The walnuts had some kind of glaze on them and were very good. Both of the entrees were delicious and I would order either one again. Service was very good and attentive. The air conditioner was on full blast when we walked in making it extremely cold and they turned it off immediately when asked. The main thing I was disappointed with was the small amount of rice that comes with your meal.

Thank you Unilocal! We do not live in the area of this restaurant and we have no good Asian food near us in Lucas. So, we were looking for a good lunch spot and thought we would try this place. Good call! Very clean. Excellent service and wonderful food at reasonable prices. The owner and his wife came to our table to welcome us and thank us for coming. They are doing a fantastic job and we will plan on this being our number one choice for Chinese /Asian food. It will be worth the 15 mile drive to get this kind of food and service. If you are a local you probably already know of this place. If you are just visiting or driving through, check it out I know you will like it!

I’m a huge fan of Golden Pot. I have lived in Rowlett for many years and I don’t know why or how I missed this place but it is my new obsession. We would eat here 3 times a week if we could! The best part is they offer delivery and it’s very prompt. We typically order egg rolls, egg drop soup, the chicken friend rice and Mongolian Beef. So often, many Chinese restaurants just fail at Mongolian Beef. Golden Pot gets it right! It’s served on a bed of crispy rice noodles with fresh green onions and a flavorful, slightly sweet, brown sauce. The chicken friend rice is loaded with white meat chicken. I mean it is chock full! The egg drop soup is good too. I like mine with just broth and egg whites and this is how Golden Pot makes theirs. I’m not a fan when other restaurants add a bunch of junk to their egg drop soup like water chestnuts, carrots, peas, etc. The egg rolls are small but crunchy and full of veggies. YUM! You can order online and, like I said before, they deliver. It’s always been very quick — typically less than 30 minutes. A couple of months ago, we had asked for extra fried wontons and when it was delivered we discovered the extras weren’t included. No biggie — we didn’t really need them anyways. But about two hours later, the phone rings and it is the restaurant saying that they just realized they didn’t include the extra fried wontons in our delivery order and were so sorry. Who does that?! So very awesome that they care that much about their customers! All this talk about Golden Pot has got me hungry. Gotta go — calling me in an order of Mongolian Beef from Golden Pot!
