Came here for a late brunch/lunch with my husband and my cousin. I ordered an omelet and my husband ordered steak and eggs with a side of fried rice. My omelet came out and everything looked great. It came with 4 items so I chose, spinach, sausage, onions and swiss cheese. All ingredients were plentiful and I liked the fact that fresh spinach and onions were used. The omelet also came with toast and potatoes which were both great as well. Definitely try the walnut wheat! My husband’s steak and eggs came out and it looked pretty good too. But then not long after, a waitress(not our waitress), came over and told us that they had messed up on my husband’s steak and eggs order but had corrected it. We hadn’t noticed anything was wrong with his order so we were confused. The waitress then explained that the steak was topped with mushrooms by mistake and asked if she could charge us extra for the mushrooms. My husband and I were taken aback by this request and looked at each other. We told the waitress to go ahead and add it to our bill because we really didn’t want to argue, but it left a bad taste in our mouths. If someone at the café made an error, the customer should NOT be charged for the mistake. We never ordered the mushrooms and we wouldn’t have known that the steak wasn’t supposed to have mushrooms on it since it was our first time there. Hopefully they don’t do this too often with other customers. Overall, the food was decent and the staff was friendly. I just hope they work on their customer service policies. Tip: Sometimes the women’s restroom door gets locked from the inside without anyone in it. Grab a key from the staff at the front counter if you know that no one is in the bathroom but you can’t get it in.

Where do I begin. My family and I go in, sit down… it takes them like three minutes just to bring us the menu and when they finally do, do don’t even ask us if we want drinks. I see four other groups come in after us and they already had all their orders taken and drinks on their tables. The worst part is the waiters and waitress kept staring at us but no one wanted to come over and serve us. We just ordered a coffee and left. This is the first and last time we are going to this place. We try to support our local business but I guess they don’t care for everyone’s support. I don’t recommend them if you want good service.

I love this place. Of course it is a plus that it is around the corner from my house, but their food is great and they are extremely friendly. It’s nothing fancy but it is a great little family owned café. I love their Eggs Benedict and corned beef hash best out of everything on their menu.

If you live in the Pocket area, you know the«nowhere to eat’ struggle. This is the perfect place to grab a yummy breakfast without going into midtown. Good food, decent service. My only complaint is that it is pricey for a hole in the wall café. My husband and I had bacon and eggs, coffee, and one small glass of OJ and ended up with a $ 30 tab!

I’m from Greenhaven and this is a staple in the community! Their home fries? Oh my life! As a child I only bought their peculiar, glass-bottled sodas. As an adult, a friend introduced me to the breakfast. I’ve eaten the same thing every time, Two Egg Latte Breakfast, w/and w/o meat. Their pancakes are really good too! A must when spending a morning in Greenhaven.

Large portions and the foods is good. The only reason why I don’t give it a 5 star is because I ordered hot chocolate and it arrived after the food and our water was not refilled.

Friendly staff and a warm, cozy environment. I ordered the breakfast sandwich(which you can customize) and the Belgian waffle. My husband ordered the breakfast sandwich as well and a side of fries. The breakfast sandwiches are SOGOOD and the best part is you can completely customize what you want on your sandwich. The Belgian waffle was nothing special so I most likely will not be ordering it again. I haven’t tried the coffee yet but we will definitely be back!

The coffee here is undrinkable! Literally undrinkable! First and foremost, I will disclose I work in the specialty coffee industry and have been working in coffee for almost 12 years. I met a friend here for coffee and conversation due to its proximity to my son’s school; and did not come here with the intention of evaluating their coffee. When a coffee house serves flavored coffees, it automatically tells me their brewed coffees have little to be desired and must be flavored to appeal to their customers. I figured an espresso would be a safe bet. Boy was I wrong! They served their espresso in a cappuccino cup. I thought it was interesting… but simultaneously took that as a sign the barista(I use that term loosely here) did not know their head from their derrière. In an effort to be nice to her, I took the cup, smiled, and proceeded to my table. As the cup approached my lips, I immediatly felt something was off. As the espresso touched my lips, I might as well have been sticking my head down a sewage pipe. It was lukewarm(the time elapsed between the extraction of the coffee and my consumption of it was less than 2 minutes), beyond bitter, and left a rugged mouthfeel analagous to biting a chunk of a rotten railroad tie, chewing on it, and savoring the masochistic act commited upon myself. So, it was time to attempt some repair work. Since the espresso was already much colder than desired, I decided to try to rescue it by turning it into a ghetto latte. I asked for some cream and proceeded with the unthinkable. Now I was holding a cup of perfectly good cream contaminated by the atrocity that came out of that espresso machine’s portafilter. It was beyond disgusting. The bitterness was tamed but only slightly. Attention café owner! Coffee farmers go through backbreaking pains to pick the coffee fruit, carry it on their backs, and turn it into this beautiful gift we call a coffee bean. A coffee tree grows for years before it can produce fruit; and one coffee tree produces approximately one pound of roasted coffee per year. You are disgracing coffee farmers by serving something I wouldn’t dare clean my toilet with and calling it coffee. Get some training, learn how to use your equipment, and learn proper technique and etiquitte. Then, and only then, will you turn cups of coffee into smiles.

Caffe Latte is that place you go when you just can’t take the guilt of seeing it in the same lot as Starbucks anymore. I gotta say Starbucks has a lot of nerve setting up shop mere feet from this place. Guess it’s not like anyone ever accused corporations of having too much mercy though. This is your standard The Man vs. Mom and Pop situation. Their coffee is indeed better, but you have to pour it yourself and the refills are more expensive. And of course the service is not on the same level as that little franchise in the corner. There’s a lot larger of a menu, meaning you can actually eat cooked food here, naturally because they want to cover all their bases and make as much money as possible. Because let’s face it this place wouldn’t survive on coffee alone. I’ve yet to actually try any of their food but damn does it look delicious in the photos. And the muffins in the window display for some reason look a lot more appealing than the stuff in Sbux. I dunno if I’m just tired of cake pops and tiny scones but pastries at the ‘bucks just don’t do it for me anymore. And that’s saying a lot considering everything looks good when you’re watching what you eat. Along with the larger menu is a larger establishment in general. Plenty of seating, and the place never seems to be crowded so take your pick. Plus some outdoor seating that looks like it might blow over with a gust of wind. Oh, they also have chocolate powder for your coffee. Not sure if that’s available at Starbucks but it seems like it should be obvious enough. Ah who am I kidding. Starbucks, I’ll see you soon. Unless you’re closed. In which case I will come here. To revel in the small moral victory that comes with supporting small businesses.

Terrible! We ordered Eggs Benedict and Corned Beef Hash. The hollandaise sauce was brown, on account of the spicy mexican sauce the chef had taken the liberty to add(after asking the waitress). Surely this should have been described as such on the menu? The corned beef hash was mushy and from a can, after we asked the waitress if it was homemade or not(not!) We left there without finishing our meals and would recommend that you also do not bother to venture here. We are now having a stellar experience at Tower restaurant!

Greenhaven pocket … This is your neighborhood mom and pop café. This is a deceptively large space when you walk thru the doors … But it feels odd and disjointed. I think they can make this place a real gem of a place with some upgrades and creative decorating. I like how they have tables outside to sit and enjoy your latte or lunch. Although I have yet to try anything of their namesake here just yet. I came here a few times for their veggie wrap … It’s delicious! It’s huge and filled with veggies, they use this yummy slighty spicy sauce that adds a real zip to the whole thing and I love the texture and just holding the wrap in my hands feels satisfying ! Excellent veggie wrap ! Besides that, everything else looks quite ordinary. Their potato salad is very strange in taste. Didn’t like it much. They do serve some pretty good fries tho, hot and crispy. My friend ordered some sort of club sandwich and she thought it was good. The one time I did not order a veggie wrap I got some weird salad and it was really terrible !! Just see my photo uploads and caption… Service here is matter of fact and casual. No one really here to fawn over you but certainly not rude. The owner was kind and pleasant. I feel like this place has so much more potential and I would love to see them be successful at becoming a 5 star café ! Either way I support them and will gladly spread the word about their veggie warp !!

4 stars because the food is pretty good. Prices are also not too bad. My favorite to get here is the Potato platter with everything. So good. I also like the eggs benedict. My only complaint is that the 2x we have been here, our orders have been messed up. We had the younger male waiter. Both times we have visited also, he never came to check on us after our food came. My kids had to go up to the counter just to get some more water. We’ll be back but will try to sit where a different server will help us.

TL;DR Pros: tasty food Friendly and attentive service Not too busy on a Saturday morning Cons: Forgot the spoon for my tea(quickly corrected) Dry toast(quickly corrected) Browned scrambled eggs(I am picky about this) Breakfast! We decided to come to a local place, and were not disappointed. Moderately sized restaurant, with a relaxed feel. I ordered English Breakfast tea and a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on sourdough toast. The boyfriend ordered eggs Benedict with house potatoes and a glass of water. I was pleasantly surprised to get a pot of brewing tea leaves and the soy milk in its own pitcher. The sandwich came promptly. The downside: it had dry toast, and the eggs scrambled with some brown on it. I prefer golden scrambled eggs. Nevertheless, my request for butter for the toast was heeded quickly. It was a tasty sandwich! The Benedict, though, was the star this morning. It arrived with eggs quivering under a blanket of spiced hollandaise, with a side of perfectly crisp and tender house potatoes. Extra hollandaise in a small cup made excellent dipping for the sandwich AND potatoes.(We acknowledge that we were indulgent this morning!) Service was attentive and immediate this morning, contrary to other reviews. **This actually a 4 ½ star review**

Bummed. Started out okay, sat down ordered an iced coffee and asked for another minute to look over the menu. Decided to leave as no server returned within the time it took for me to finish the iced coffee. They seemed extremely busy… doing things other than waiting on the 2 tables in the restaurant, the other table also eyeing for a server to place an order. Walked over to the register to pay for my drink and waited for a bit for the lady standing at the register to even look up and acknowledge us, she was busy sorting out receipts. With a Starbucks opened in the same complex, I really want to support a locally owned business but sad that today was my last visit after so many years. Decided to head a few spaces over to Phở Bac Hoa Viet, which was satisfying pleasant.

SO disappointing! My family and I have come here at least once a week. It was my husband’s favorite breakfast spot so we decided to go there for his birthday today. They ignored us for over 45 minutes and refused to make our drinks for some reason. We asked the waitress four times for our drinks and she didn’t know what was going on either. They served lots of people who came in except for us. An hour later, we got our food and still no drinks. When they finally gave us our drinks, we were done eating and ready to leave. After all this, they still charged us $ 70 for a party of four. And, no, we didn’t order anything extravagant. They had new staff, but the old staff was there also. And they weren’t very busy — just not productive and extremely rude. We won’t be coming back. My suggestion is to come here with a large group of cyclists or elderly people — maybe THEN they’ll show you respect.

Sunday, November 9th — 8am Breakfast I am not from Sacramento, I found you on Unilocal. Friendly cashier/server handed us menus and encouraged us to find a table. Upon finding a cozy little table she brought us three ice waters w/lemon :) Thank you. We ordered: Eggs Benedict Belgian Waffle Potato Plate and of course, COFFEE! Coffee: Arrives to the table in beer mugs, cute. but it tastes like dirty water. :( Food: Belgian Waffle — My son enjoyed it. Potato Plate — My cousin eats anything you put in front of her… winning Eggs Benedict — Now I’ve had a poached egg or two in my 29 years of life, and I know that the white shouldn’t be clear and runny. Hollandaise sauce was sour and definitely watered down too. Needless to say, after the first bite, I didn’t eat it. Friendly cashier/server, if your customer returns a full plate of food to you when it is time to clear the table, PLEASE, PLEASE, ask if there was something wrong with the meal. I graciously paid for everything, and tipped you. I should have said something right then and there, but hey, what do you guys care, I wont be back.

I was looking for LaBou in this plaza & since I couldn’t find if, I came to this place because it’s the closest thing to LaBou. Anywho, my boss and I were trying to catch lunch before our huge event we had to help out with. I ordered the French walnut chicken sandwich with a side salad & my boss ordered their daily special: Ahi Tuna Salad… something along the lines of that. Haha. My French walnut chicken sandwich came on a croissant that was toasted on the inside. It was delicious. However, it was a bit bland. My side salad was also good and their portions were fairly big. Just in my opinion, they get 4 stars. It didn’t «Wow» me, but it wasn’t nasty either. I’d go back & try it out again, but probably something different.

This is a nice little place for breakfast or lunch. First time here so we went to the counter to order, but the waitress gave us menus and told us we could sit anywhere because we were ordering in. She came over and gave us water. Shortly after we had our order taken. The waitress was very friendly. We didn’t have to wait too long for our food to come out. I ordered the ahi tuna salad and the portion was huge. I was stuffed by the time I finished the salad. The ahi tuna was cooked just right. I had the baklava to-go. The outside was flaky with layers of syrupy sweetness; one piece was definitely good enough. I would definitely come here again to try out their benedicts and especially because I liked the service! :)
