Third time. Quality burgers every time. I had the Flip burger. She had the Flipcheese. Buns soft, produce fresh, patty just right. Fries were above average.

The food here has always been good, if a little expensive, but today was sort of a let-down. I had just ordered $ 35 dollars worth of fast food and since they don’t seem to sell coffee, my husband went next door for an energy drink. When the lady working here saw it, she said we couldn’t have outside drinks. She was nice about it, and I know it’s not her fault, but to be told I have to go outside to drink a rockstar, when I’m spending such an exorbitant amount on food here, was a little harsh. We won’t be back. It’s a shame, because this was a favorite place for us.

A few months back the wife and I were in the area for an appointment and looking up places to eat and stumbled across Flip n Shake. Located not in the best areas of town next to a liquor/gas station, but what this place lacks in location it fully makes up for in everything else. We have now been back a few times and tried some various things on the menu and think we have settled in a few favorites. For me it’s the«Scavenger» with bacon and complete with a fresh over easy egg. The wife has tried a few of the burgers a well, but really enjoys the Philly cheese steak. Now this isn’t close to getting something right in Philly but it really does have some great flavors. Another added bonus of this place is the soft serve ice cream deserts and of course the extra thick shakes. Personal favorite of mine is the fresh banana! Great find for a great hamburger.

I live about 5 miles away from this place and have a hard time find good local eats in Citrus Heights outside of the chains. I prefer independent and or small businesses over the spaghetti factory, other major corporations, and any other eatery with something akin to factory in the name. My impression from the outside told me that this looked to be a section of Citrus Heights that was a little bit rough, but upon entering the businesses, just minutes after they opened, I immediately noticed the attention to detail that only a small business is capable of. I would describe the facility’s cleanliness to be immaculate. I failed to get the gentleman’s name who worked the front counter but he appeared to me as the owner. He took great pride in every aspect of the business and through talking with ‘the man’ I learned a great deal about the menu options. He hooked me up with an off the menu item, a Chipotle Bacon and Avocado Burger. I also ordered some Parmesan Garlic Fries and a Pineapple Shake. Everything on the burger was as it should be. I other words it was perfect. The bun, an aspect of which many burger places overlook, was neither too big nor too small and was both fluffy and crispy. The shake was great and the business even had enough forethought to provide some amazing straws for their shakes. The straw was basically had twice the diameter of the straws you would find at McDonald’s and never once did that really annoying thing where the suction from the straw collapses in on itself preventing the shake from ever making it to your mouth. This type of attention to detail permeates all aspects of this eatery and I was very impressed. I even got to see the the owner literally with a hop in his step when expediting orders to the three customers that made it in after me. In my opinion, that kind of pride in ownership can only come from a independent small business. I may not be able to come to this place every week, but when I am in need of completely satisfying that high end burger craving, I know where to go. –THANKYOUCHEF!

They have the best banana milkshakes. Their burgers are awesome. Love it. I would recommend this place to people who love big burgers… you get your money’s worth.

This place is a hidden gem… really good. Such a small place with great food. I had the scavenger burger. It was so delicious. My beard was full of it… well worth it. Hope to have the same flavor on beard for later on snacking. Jk.

Burger menu combos and reviews had me stop here. If you like burnt burgers and burnt grilled onions this is your spot! I just had the regular fries and they were not properly salted and super greasy. The saving grace was the shake. Not all its hyped to be

Great burgers, fries and shakes. Large selection of specialty burgers. Specialty fries are enough for 3 – 4 people. Owner very friendly with awesome customer service. Will definitely be back to try many different burgers.

One of the better independent(non-chain) burgers I’ve had in a long while. It was priced higher than I’d expected for just the burger. I was in the neighborhood, had Flip.n.Shake bookmarked, and needed some additional food to fend off what was«head“ed my way shortly if I didn’t eat after a visit to an establishment down the street. While it’s my burger preference, I hold the theory that a regular no-frills basic burger(with LPTO) allows a more accurate evaluation of the meat of the burger, so to speak. Not blocked by overpowering spices of sauces or road blocked by flamboyant add-ons, the freshness, cook, and juiciness of the burger is at it’s peak for evaluation. Once that’s determined, go for it. In this case, it was apparent that patty was not a formed frozen puck prior to my consumption. It was not a perfect round and was moist. Seasoned simply and lightly with salt and pepper, perhaps. I had nothing else to impede this burgers performance. Burger only; no fries and no sweet shake. this time. And, really, it’s all I wanted. Just a burger. As others have mentioned, the prices here have been creeping up; 50 cents since 12÷20÷15(based on what I paid vs the menu prices on the website at the time of this writing) and as much as a dollar in the year prior based on menu photo’s. The burger price is not competitive with other options in the area. Side Note: Their website is. interesting. Not many websites offer a customer complaint section nor a section to address potential investors, It is obvious that the owners are passionate about their business and product.

Gave them a shot yesterday, since my son and I were in the area. Both of us ordered the regular Flipburger with a small drink, and I also got regular fries. At the time(Sunday at 11:30) we were the only customers. Ordering was easy, except that the screens over the cashier aren’t the actual menu. They display the menu briefly, then cut to pictures. The actual menu is posted on two of the walls. After ordering we were told to take a seat and they would call out our number and bring the food over. Food arrived quickly enough. The burgers were good sized, full of the usual condiments. French fries were thicker than standard, and very hot. Some fries were soggy, most were good. Everything was good, not great. They do have fancier fry and burger options, but we wanted to see how they handled the basics. For the price point, we expected more.

Random find as I was craving a burger and garlic fries going back to the Bay Area from Reno and stumbled onto this great find! A small place. More like a diner but can accommodate a big group if it was not crowded. Was welcomed when we came in. They were ready to place our order. Customer service was great! The menu was simple but yet had custom burgers and good shakes! I ordered the fireball burger. Just imagine a hot link, pepper jack cheese, and jalapeños in my burger?! It was cooked right and not greasy at all! I finished it as it was that good! We ordered garlic fries and they gave a good portion for two people. My cravings was satisfied. I even ordered a pineapple shake and surprisingly it was good and tasted like it had bits of pineapple in it or was it my imagination? I will have to come back here to try the rest when traveling up North. Everything was good to me. They use the Squareup for their transactions so I got my receipt via email. It was funny to see they use a remote to go into their bathroom but I guess it’s convenient than bringing a big lock to open up the door. ;-p You would not think this was a good place to go when you first drive up to the diner. I totally recommend it so don’t be afraid to try it here!

GREAT burger spot. I had the California burger(avocado, bacon, lettuce, tomato) and I asked for it lettuce wrapped. It was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend had the Scavenger burger(bacon, mushroom, onion, fried egg and cheese). He absolutely loved it. Highly recommend this place. Also, the garlic parmesan fries was UH-MAZING!

Flip.n.Shake is really good, old fashioned style burgers and a great variety. They Also have Philly cheesesteaks, hot link sandwiches, BLT’s, kids meals and really good fries plus about 14 different burgers. I have not had the shakes yet but I have heard/read that they are really good. Prices are low and service is really good.

Flip.n.good! Went with the«Scavenger» burger because it has a fried egg, bacon, grilled onions and mushrooms, cheese, and thousand island dressing between a very soft bun. In fact, the bun was too soft and couldn’t hold up all that juicy deliciousness halfway through eating it, and it ended up being a soggy deliciousness. I would prefer either a thicker bun or a more toasted bun(not sure it was even toasted) for that particular burger. Trust me, it was still good. My bf had the flip cheeseburger(¼lb), which he loved, and could’ve easily handled a double. The menu has a few other unique burger options(like Cajun, Creole, Bulgogi) that I will undoubtedly be trying in the near future. The garlic fries were big enough to share and have leftovers. Fries were served hot with an ample amount of garlic. No vampires that night! The shakes were thick and creamy. I had a banana/pineapple which was just the right amount of sweet for me. Charged additional 59 cents for the«add-on» of another flavor. Got a large drink free with Unilocal check-in. Service was outstanding. The staff are very friendly, efficient, and hard-working. Our food came out quickly, and they even passed out a free side of fries to people! Our total came out to $ 27, which is way more expensive than dinner at In-N-Out, but about the same as dinner from Fatburger, so take it for what it’s worth, and give it a flip.n.try!

After a visit to ARC with my son, we were quite hungry and realized Flip n Shake was right around the corner so we stopped in for a visit. I knew it was a hole in the wall, so the run down late 80’s feel of the place didn’t deter us. My son had not eaten anything all day so I let him order what he wanted which was bacon cheese burger, fries, and a Oreo shake. The smallest size burger was a ¼ pounder and I didn’t feel in the mood for that much beef so I just ordered a kids grilled cheese meal. The kids meal does not include a drink. I felt the price was high was for these items as the bill came to $ 18 and some change. Our food arrived after about 10 minutes, grilled cheese was basic, white bread with American cheese. Fortunately my son does not like tomatoes so I took his sliced tomatoes and added it to my sandwich which made it better. I have to admit the bacon on his burger looked Delicous. Perfectly cooked, crispy but not over done. 2 generous slices topped his burger. He said it was good, but he is 18– so pretty much all burgers taste the same to him! Fries were that tan color that usually mean they are using old grease. They were all right, pretty basic but you expect really good fries from a burger joint. I think they had forgot my son’s shake but when we reminded them they quickly mixed it up and brought it out to him with a super fat pink straw. I see why, the shake was so thick you could barely suck it up with a straw. While I am pretty sure they used soft serve ice cream(always prefer real premium ice cream) they did mix in fresh Oreos. Definitely better than your average shake. Another tip is you get free large drink with your Unilocal check in which came in handy since my meal did not have a drink. All in all, not a bad experience. I would definitely return if i was craving a shake and probably get vanilla with real banana and pineapple mixed in. Probably would ask for a spoon as it I know it would be extra sick with those ingredients.

Decided to try something different in the area and came across this burger place on Unilocal.BF& I decided to give it a go and we weren’t disappointed. The cashier which I assume is the manager or owner was very friendly. He knew it was our first time there so he threw in a side of free fries for us. My BF& I decided to share our burgers and they were able to cut both our burgers nicely in half for us to share. Scavenger burger — I think this is one of their popular burgers. It comes with grilled onions, mushrooms, a fried egg, bacon & cheeses. It was pretty good Bulgogi burger — this burger was a mixture of a regular hamburger patty and bulgogi meat, which I wasn’t expecting. I thought it was just ok, I didn’t really like the taste of the meat. I thought it could’ve had a bit more flavor and juice to it. The milkshakes are a must try. The cashier went around giving free samples of their banana milkshake it was really good and fresh. I decided to order a strawberry shake to go and they used fresh strawberries. I would definitely come back again to try the other burgers!

Burger lovers of Sacramento there is a new king in town and it is Flip N Shake. Well we have only tried a few things here but what we did have were off da hook good. FnS is close to Crickets on Auburn Blvd. Located in a renovated fast food location the joint boosts seating for about 25 or so. You place orders at the front counter and your food is brought out to your table. We devoured the following items: Parmesan Garlic Fries $ 4.25 a good sized portion of super crispy fries covered in a lot of garlic and sprinkled with shredded Parmesan cheese. The flavor and crunch is outstanding and the garlic is enough to overpower an entire tin of Altoids :) Pastrami Burger ¼ lb $ 6.95 a juicy burger topped with Swiss cheese, pastrami, lettuce, tomato, grilled onions and thousand island all on a toasted egg bun. My wife loved this burger and devoured the entire thing. Bulgogi Burger ½ lb $ 8.50 wow this burger was so juicy I could have used a bib. A tender burger with Bulgogi seasoning mixed in served with lettuce, tomato, red onion and sliced jalapeño’s all on top of a hefty sweet french bread roll. Although this sounds like a pretty simple combination, this was one of the best burgers I have had the pleasure of eating. The Bulgogi is sweet and the jalapeño’s add some heat for that sweet and hot combo. One note the french bread used on this burger is pretty much a sliced loaf of bread. I am pretty sure if you get the ¼ lb burger the bread would probably be a little too much although it is designed to hold up to all the juice from the Bulgogi patty. Pineapple Shake $ 4.49 This was a hefty hand made shake and the best thing about it was they served it with a thick Boba straw. The boba straw is ½ inch diameter which allows you to slurp up all the yummy pineapple chunks hidden in your shake. There are a number of yummy burgers on the menu at FnS that we intend to come back and try. The Brunch burger has hash browns, egg, bacon and cheese and the Italian has jack cheese, grilled garlic, onions, lettuce and tomato served on a garlic bun. Don’t forget to check in on Unilocal to get your«Free» large drink to help wash down all that FnS goodness.
