They sell the Daily Racing Form. They’re the only place in east Sacramento that sells it. For horse racing fans it’s a big plus. The employees are great.

It’s not a deli. At all. Obviously lol I agree with one of the other reviews. I went mid day around 2pm and the older Indian lady was on her phone nonstop. Didn’t even get off the phone when I checked out. She did ID me. No issue with this as I am 23 but she had to double check the little calander to see what year/date is the legal drinking age I was like I was born in 1990 not 1993 lmao. But regardless decent selection on micro brews don’t expect a bevmo a lot of hard liquor selections and wines. It’s all about $ 1 — $ 2 overpriced but I expected that. Paid $ 10for a 6pack of oatis which is $ 7.99 at bevmo. I would go there again but only in a pinch it’s just really close to my house in east sac lol

Someone at Trader Joe’s mentioned that they stock a bigger selection of Stone Brewing Company beers, so I stopped by once a while back. I saw they had a six pack of Oaked Arrogant Bastard, so I picked it up. The clerk that night, a middle aged Desi man, ironically turned into an arrogant bastard himself — he told me I shouldn’t pay that price for a six pack, then grudgingly sold it to me. Tonight I was in the mood for more Stone, went back, and was unhappy to see the same clerk working again. He did the same routine when I tried to buy it, but this time he took it further. He said I must be drunk to be willing to pay that for a six pack, and that he wouldn’t sell it to me. If the owner wants to stock good beer and wine along with the cheap stuff, who is this dude to say otherwise? He should be sacked, he’s bad for business. In the meantime, East Sacramento has plenty of places with the friendly, good service you’d expect, who are happy to sell you the wares their stores offer. Trader Joe’s across the street, Corti Bros., and Stop n’ Shop all come immediately to mind within a few blocks along Folsom Blvd.

So I was here the other day and they had some Velamints on the top shelf. And I thought, «Oh cool. VELAMINTS! I didn’t know they made these still. I haven’t seen them in YEARS!» Then felt a thick layer of dust and crud on top of them. Apparently they have sold these in years, either! :(

$ 1.00 assorted shots!!! It’s so funny that my first review would be of a liquor store, but i had to do it! Every time i come to sac, i ALWAYS stop here. I spend 5 minutes digging through the box of mixed shots and i usually leave with about 20! What can i say?! Maybe I drink too much. lol. Mr. B is always friendly and I always leave happy, that is why I gave this place 4 stars I love it! Other liquor store pale in comparison(when it comes to small ones) I only wish I could find another liquor store that has these kinds of deals, then again, maybe it’s for the best that I don’t! The only downfall is that they charge to use your debit card and I hate that!!!

Liquor and Deli? Where is the deli? I bet the sandwiches would be good if they had a deli… Though this place is EXTREMELY overpriced for the singles and tall cans, they have my fav, 4Loco-watermelon ;) And it is like $ 2.50. That sh** will get you fu***** up, yo! Haha, just kidding with the ghetto. But seriously, do like the 4Loco. And the single shots. Yep, they have those little singles, in all sorts of flavors, for a dollar each!!! I have gotten in the habit of carrying those with me when I go out so I don’t have to buy expensive drinks anymore, just get the DD soda. Free usually. My fav of the selections– Cucumber vodka! I mix it with EVERYTHING! Like orange juice, Sprite, ginger ale… Iced tea! The convenience keeps me going there for even the tall boys, though I cringe at the price. And Mr B is way cool :)

This place is really hit and miss for me and it all has do to with who is working at the time. Morning: the morning shift woman is short, always on her bluetooth, never opens at the same time. Just an overall unpleasant vibe. Night: without a doubt the one of the nicest liquor store employees i’ve ever come across(and i’ve met quite a few). He’s also a big fan of 2 and a half men and wrestling, which i find to be hilarious. The place also has an excellent selection of great micro brews and has great prices on smokes.

I’ve been going to Mr B’s for a long time and I cannot reiterate how glad I am that the management changed. They just seem friendlier, and go out of the way to set up displays with the bottle specials. I still don’t buy Lotto scratchers at Mr. B’s because I never cash a ticket from here, but I did score a bottle of the Absolute Los Angeles that was left over from the fall. This is a great place to run into the local East Sac smokers and boozehounds.
