I love their pancakes here! Everything else is so-so. I’ve had better diner food and the service is always hit or miss, but the prices are very reasonable.

Good diner food. Nothing special. Long wait in between seeing waiter. Ordered an omelet — potatoes well done. Omelet was a little bland. Thank goodness for hot sauce. potatoes weren’t well done as asked but ok anyway. I would come back again but not make a special trip.

Great diner. My son really loves their chicken fingers and me and my husband are always pleased when we leave there. One time got dirty forks so that’s the only reason it’s not perfect stars.

I’ll ONLY come here when I’m catching up with friends in the area. It’s a great place to sit for hours and get endless refills on coffee – definitely not a place to get good food. Chances are that no matter what you order here, it’s going to be cold and dry. I’d recommend that you save yourself by ordering something that can be drenched in dressing/sauce/syrup. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not the worst food that I’ve ever tasted. It’s just not very good. SBD is at least better than the nearby diners in Elmwood Park. The service is never so great. The servers usually disappear after you get your food without checking on your table much at all. And the staff definitely doesn’t give off the friendly vibe that you hope to get from a diner. A positive: prices are even cheaper than most of the diners that I’ve been too! For example, almost all of their omelettes(with potatoes & toast) are under $ 10, which is pretty rare these days. Overall, even though your food or service at SBD won’t be the best, you won’t be too upset because of the cheap bill.

I eat here pretty often. Typical diner fare, but a little better priced than the others in the area. A few of the local diners raised their prices to pay for their renovations, but this one did not. They need to remember, this is diner food, and she be priced as such. Decent service, decent food, decent portion, fair price. Their desserts are verrrrrry good! Not the biggest selection ever, but they are fantastic!!! Lots of parking.

This restaurant is a few minutes from the hospital where Mary Bornstein was. I liked the sandwiches that they serve.

Horrible breakfast! You better off going to a deli in your local area, way better breakfast. The service is horrible too. They don’t even clean the tables with proper cleaning tools instead they used the same nasty cloth in every single table without even washing it. The food is tasteless. If you can’t make eggs taste good, you have a problem! The ham was so fat. Just come here for chicken fingers probably the only thing they can make right. STAYAWAY!!!

Another fabulous meal at saddle brook diner, my husband and I love to come here. Good quick service and delicious food! Our favorite is the creamy Italian salad dressing, want to bottle it up and take it home. I had the rustic chicken: grilled chicken, zucchini, roasted peppers, portobello mushrooms and fresh mozzarella cheese on a slice of baked Italian bread with a balsamic glaze drizzled on top, amazing!!!

Live in Waldwick therefore lunch in Saddle Brook doesn’t happen too often, went In yesterday just to get out of the intense heat & humidity. Great parking accommodations and very friendly waitstaff. Very fast service, had tomato/chicken salad platter with ice tea and dessert included for $ 9.00 Very impressed with the quality of food and quick, accurate service. I love Stateline Diner in Mahwah and chicken salad recipe at A&P Delis but the crown now belongs to Saddle Brook Diner for their marvelous tasting cocoction

Before I forget(I seem to have about a two week attention span – if that, these days!!) I want to give extreme KUDOS to this WONDERFUL, classic, something for EVERYONE diner! Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh, how I miss gems like this place here in Ohiooooooooooo! We were a group of 20+, and while I’m sure that reservations were made well in advance, I was still in AWE of how this place SPRANG into action and got us set up with two separate long tables(on a SUNDAY at about 11am!!). There was even another group there, though not as large as ours, and just about every single table in this larger than it looks place was filled as well. They’re next door to a LARGE cemetery, and I’m sure they get a good bit of their business from groups of mourners/graveside visitors(like us…) so no surprise they’ve got the large group thing down to a science! One waitress handled both of our tables, got us drinks(no mixups!!) and took our breakfast and/or lunch orders without a hitch! There’s always a million and one options at these diners, and every single one of them sounds better than the next… I went for a veggie wrap, thinking it wouldn’t be HUGE, as I had a reasonably sized breakfast earlier and didn’t want a TON of food with a potentially long ride back to NY, and the perfectly cooked, reasonably sized wrap, with a side of sweet potato fries, was a great choice. My brother got an awesome looking Mexican breakfast burrito, and I was nearly drooling over the buckwheat pancakes to my right, my sister’s gyro platter, and just about every delectable option that arrived on our table… You can’t go wrong(IMO) at this or any typical NY/NJ diner… Any time, any where, just about any hour of the day or night. SUPER great service, wonderful diner food, and VERY reasonably priced… I’d be a regular, IF I didn’t live over 500 miles away!!! ;-)

Best diner in the area in my opinion. Typical diner food. My favorites: Grilled Chicken Ceaser Wrap, Cheese Burger Deluxe, or The Saddle Brook Panini. Good service and fair prices. Love coming here late night after the bar. Delish ! I often call in and order food to take out, and it’s always ready when I get there. Can’t beat it.

Everything one wants from a classical American diner Super clean. Good coffee that is being served continuously. I’d recommend blueberry pancakes and classic rock burger

Honestly one of the worst diner experiences I’ve ever had. Although my waitress was pleasant she repeatedly forgot my order. Got my salad and bread right away only to wait 40 minutes for my shrimp cocktail that she completely forgot to put the order in. My entrée was followed 20 minutes after the forgotten shrimp cocktail, never got any napkins so I personally had to get up and grab napkins from another table. Utterly horrid experience I do not recommend and definitely will not come to this diner again.

I placed an order to pick up a grilled chicken Caesar salad. they said it would be ready about 10 minutes took about 15minutes. They have a bar area and a dessert area(which looked delicious as I waited for my order) the actual establishment looks big on the outside but it’s not so big inside. They do have a big parking lot in the back of the dinner and some parking on the side. My grilled chicken Caesar salad was pretty big. Definitely worth the $ 12 the only thing I did not like is the amount of dressing they put on my salad. They didn’t ask if I wanted on the side or in it which is fine I didn’t care but with the amount that they put I will make sure to ask for it on the side next time. It was just way too much caesar dressing. As for cleanliness it looked pretty clean. They also have an ATM machine if you need cash.

Where to start! By far the best diner around! Clean, open late, rather large menu and super fast! Whether you are in the mood for a sandwich, breakfast, pasta, fish, you name it they have it. When I come I usually stick to either breakfast, the apps(jersey fries, Yes!) or a wrap of some sort. I’ve never had a bad meal! One con: no French onion soup!!! :(

Went here on a Friday night with a group of people. Food was super dry, warm(not hot) and tasteless. You’re better off getting some microwaveable food at the supermarket and eating that instead. I got the Mombo Combo(potato skins, mozzarella sticks and chicken fingers) and I also tried some fried calamari too but they were pretty bland and not crispy enough. The service was subpar. Took a while to get lemons for the calamari(had to ask two different servers for it) and they also forgot the dressing for the salads that people had ordered on the side. Food also didn’t come out at the same time for everyone. Pretty disorganized here. I don’t think I’ll be coming back unless there is nothing else to eat around the area. I’ve been to better diners with better service.

The saddle brook diner is one of the better(town) diners in the area. Ive been here just about one thousand times(give or take a few). Overall the food here is good, not great, but far from bad. Everything from lunch to dinner is good. One thing that is nice is they serve alcohol, so in your drunken stuper at 2am after a night out you grab a beer with your disco fries(with bacon on top). This place feels like america. Stop by give it a try.

I have never had a better experience at a dinner then this one! I walked in and immediately loved it! I was in awe of how helpful and on the floor the manager was. Constantly running around making sure everything was perfect! our food was great, service was great, and all around experience! I only wish I lived closer so I could be a regular!

My favorite diner in all of Bergen County. I find that newer diners, like the renovated Suburban Diner or new Chit Chat Diner charge extra just because they look a little nicer. Saddle Brook is a nice 24 hour spot where the food is good and well priced, despite the modern look of the diner. They even serve alcohol. Harry P. and I could be considered experts on the diners in the area. We once spent an entire summer going to every diner within driving distance after hours(12am or later). I judge diners based on the quality of their cheese fries and corned beef hash and eggs. Harry’s choice is matzo ball soup and chocolate pudding. I ordered the cheese fries last night. Saddle Brook gets so many extra points for their cheese fries. The waitress asked what kind of fries? They have waffle, curly, and regular. What more could one ask for? I chose curly. She offered me american, mozzarella, or swiss. I asked if she had a cheese sauce. She did, and I told her to cover my fries in it please. She did exactly as I asked. Curly fries were great. Crispy outside, soft insides. Cheese sauce was nothing special, the standard pump and serve nacho cheese sauce. But she did cover my fries in it like i asked! The fries stayed crispy despite the copius amounts of cheese. Wonderful cheese fries, especially for a diner.
