I’ve been coming here since I came to flagler and they have the best milkshakes around… And don’t even get me started on their Belgian waffles. Keep in mind their whipped cream is tasteless, besides that everything else is heaven !

OMG– this place is DELISH! We ordered two items and split it: Ping island milkshake– vanilla ice cream, peanut butter; choc chips, marshmallow fluff, and graham cracker Whirlybird waffles– cinnamon apples, vanilla ice cream, caramel, and bourbon whipped cream. Both items blew our mind. We devoured the waffles and didn’t speak a word while doing it. Shake was very good. A great blend of flavors. Note, it’s small and can get crowded. They do offer seating outdoors and some indoors. Worth the wait!

Had the«Still be Cody» which is made of chocolate ice cream, a shot of espresso, mocha sauce and espresso whipped cream. Coffee is my favorite ice cream and shake flavor, and this delivers! Great place friendly staff, all in all amazing.

MILKSHAKES!!! Worth the trip! Good old fashion milkshakes, that take you back in time to a place where milkshakes are acceptable for breakfast lunch and dinner! Will definitely be returning here multiple times throughout the duration of my trip. I didn’t just like it!

Very yummy! I had the Plimpton(added Strawberries) & hubby had the Jaguar Shark. Both were great, but the Jaguar Shark was absolutely delicious! Can’t wait to come back for milkshakes later today.

My boyfriend and I are on a roadtrip– we were en route to Palm Bay and needed to stop somewhere before then so of course we chose St. Augustine. I wanted something sweet and of course utilized Unilocal to find the perfect spot! …aaaaaand we found it! Cousteau’s was EVERYTHING! I don’t think we could’ve went wrong with any of the waffles or milkshakes. The waffles are made with dough, not batter, so they’re super filing and extra yummy. I had the Life on Mars which was a deliciously warm Belgium waffle topped with toasted coconut ice cream and some espresso whipped cream with chocolate drizzle! I posted a photo for you to see the beauty. My boyfriend got the Be Still Cody milkshake which was basically the most chocolatey thing you could consume. It was incredible! On top of the treats we devoured, the two lovely people there were fantastic in every way! So friendly, easy to talk to, and made some mean waffles.

I love it when someone comes up with an insanely good idea and actually makes it happen. Waffles AND milkshakes? Sign me up. We had the Whirleybird and it was delicious! Belgium waffle with cinnamon apples and ice cream. Enough to share– but really hard to choose ! Next time we will try the milkshakes and another waffle.

It’s quite simple — if you love waffles dressed with sweet delights, go to Cousteau’s! A tiny established right off George Street, you can’t miss this place. Just look for the overflowing line out the front door and joyous, powder sugar dusted, chocolatey smiling faces. I’m serious — skip dessert at whatever restaurant establishment you’re dining at and make the walk to Cousteau’s instead(exactly what we did!). They offer a few soft drinks and coffee as well as milkshakes though I can’t speak on those since we didn’t order one. I had the traditional powdered sugar waffle which was fresh and warm with the perfect crunch and generous powdered sugar. My husband had the chocolate peanut butter waffle(healthy, right?). If we didn’t love each other, we wouldn’t have shared. :) Sure, it sounds like ‘just waffles’ with some sweet toppings, but before you judge, find out for yourself.

Yum, yum, yum! We stopped in to this cute little café one very hot and humid Saturday, and were rewarded with some tasty morsels. My husband and I split the waffle bites with blueberry compote and espresso whipped cream. I know, right?! Simply amazing. My kids split a blueberry milkshake(see the theme going on here?), and they had finished it within minutes. Needless to say, mommy did not get to sample, lol. The lady at the counter was so friendly and warm, and she gave us some suggestions as well. I only wish I could remember her name, because she deserves kudos! Service was fast also. The only downside is the building is not very big, so depending on the time of day, I can forsee having to sit outside. But that’s ok, I would still go back. Can’t wait to sample some more delectable edibles in my future.

Great food! I had the Belefonte and the Be Still Cody, and both were absolutely amazing. I got a stamp card and will definitely be going back to collect more! My boyfriend had the Kingsley with bacon and the Electric Jellyfish shake, and he loved them both. I lovelovelove this place, although I might be biased, as The Life Aquatic is my favorite film!

Friends, the rumors are true. Every delicious detail you’ve heard about this place is absolutely true. Waffles and milkshakes should be together, and Cousteau’s has figured that out. As far as the overall environment is concerned, the space feels pretty opened which is nice because it’s tiny in square footage. When it was just myself and friends it created an intimate environment and the second two more people walked in it felt crowded. If snuggling with strangers isn’t your thing I recommend having a friend order on your behalf. The menu is broken down into two important elements: waffles and milkshakes. It can seem overwhelming because every option is pretty much a good idea. I enjoyed the Stevesie which consisted of homemade cookie dough ganache and vanilla ice cream. The taste was spot on, but the only downside is that there wasn’t enough cookie dough for my liking. This place is a little tucked away, but it’s worth taking a detour off of St. George Street to experience it.

My husband and I shared the Jaguar Shark, which is topped with real maple syrup, bourbon whipped cream, candied pecans and candied bacon! Omg amazing blend of flavors! We also added a scoop of vanilla icecream on top, yummy!!! We will definitely come back here on our next trip to St. Augustine!

A gourmet waffle and milkshake destination? Yes please! As soon as you walk in to this tiny abode, the smells will overwhelm your nose in the most pleasing way. We split the Unpaid Intern; the most simple item on the menu. Basically, it’s a Belgian-style waffle topped with powdered sugar. It’s chewy, sweet and utterly delish. All waffles are handmade and the milkshakes are handspun. I don’t normally seek out dessert foods, but Cousteau’s may have altered my cravings!

Waffles and milkshakes? Twist my arm why don’t ya. YUM! This is a place you shouldn’t miss if you find yourself in Saint Augustine! Located in the heart of olde town, this is a really cozy place. Stroll down the cobblestone street lined with unique boutiques, and stop in here to satisfy your sweet tooth. Warning: very little space to sit down. the wall is lined with a small shelf and bar stools for you to sit and eat at, but the place is often completely filled and you may want to take your food to a more spacious place to enjoy it. The people working there are super friendly and helpful! I had a hard time deciding what to get because everything looked delicious! The woman at the counter offered to some suggestions. I ended up settling on the waffle with peanut butter, bananas, and powdered sugar– TODIEFOR! I don’t know what secret ingredient they put in their waffle mix, but they’re incredible. I also opted for the cookie dough milkshake after agonizing over all of the amazing choices. Also delicious. You really can’t go wrong with this place and menu. Highly recommend!

Found this place while wandering around the old city of St. Augustine. I love a good Belgium Waffle, and always up for a milkshake. I really enjoyed that they made traditional Belgium waffles, with the Pearl sugars, and were toasty on the outside while still being soft and warm on the inside. Was only in for a snack, so grabbed a bag of the ½ dozen Waffle bites, and topped it off with the Blueberry milkshake, that had real blueberries throughout it. Wear a red beanie and you seem to get 10% off!

Tips: In the spirit of Cousteau, wear a red beanie for 10% off! Be sure to get a customer stamp card and get it stamped! Faves: The Whirlybird & the Egg Nog shake(seasonal) Review: Great customer service and friendly staff that’s always awesome with suggestions and patient with frequent mind-changes!(It’s just all so good, and I can’t eat it all… Otherwise I would!) Love this place and the waffles are AMAZEBALLS! Open in JAX, pretty please with a cherry on top?!

Suggestions: the Belafonte(waffle with Nutella, strawberries and powdered sugar) or the Whirlybird(waffle with fresh cinnamon apples, vanilla ice-cream, caramel drizzle, and bourbon whipped cream) Price: $ 6-$ 8 per waffle Pros: The waffles are amazing, the toppings they use are always fresh, the staff is very helpful and service is always very quick Cons: The milkshakes aren’t that awesome, getting to the physical location can be a little challenging given is location on a non-traffic side street, and seating is very limited. Thoughts: I love waffles, warm and chewy deliciousness with just a little bit of a crunch on the outside. My problem is that so many places get restaurants wrong. They are either overcooked and not soft on the inside, undercooked and have the firmness of a pancake, or so overly sweet they taste like a cookie. Cousteau’s gets it a close to perfect as I’ve every had. To prove this point one of their best options is their plain waffle with a little syrup. They do an amazing job of getting their batter to just the right level of sweetness, it doesn’t taste overly sweet but it isn’t so plain that it taste like bread. Then they always get the cook perfect; there is just a little bit of crunch on the outside of the waffle but the center is soft, almost to the point of gooeyness. As if the waffles themselves weren’t enough their toppings are always fresh. So much so that if a certain fruit isn’t in season(as strawberries were last time we went) they simply won’t have them. While It can sometimes feel disappointing that they may not have the topping you wanted, I love that they are willing to just not have a topping rather than risk poor quality. My personal favorite is the Whilybird; a perfect waffle topped with freshly prepared cinnamon apple slices, two scoops of vanilla ice cream, several dollops of bourbon flavored whipped cream and a small drizzle of caramel on top of the whole thing. It is SOFREAKINGOOD. The perfect balance of hot and cold and guaranteed to give you a good sugar fix without being overkill. While it is a waffle and milkshake bar, I wouldn’t go for the milkshake. While you could drink one if you were there anyway I would skip it. The ice cream they use just seems to poor to really elevate it to the same status as their waffles. They also don’t have a lot of seating and you will have to park at lease a few blocks away and walk to their location. This is pretty common for Saint Augustine but it isn’t a place you can quickly run into and get out in a few minutes. Despite the time it may take it is absolutely worth it to go and I can’t recommend it enough.

«Never knew I could feel like this Like I’ve never seen the sky before» I was singing about love upon my first taste of The Whirlybird! «It’s a Waffle I can make a home. How good could it POSSIBLY be?» I said to myself before ordering. Oh boy. The Whirlybird is served on a «Belgian Liege» waffle which tastes thicker and silkier than your average waffle. It was smothered with sweet apple slices that had been baked with fresh cinnamon, mounds of vanilla ice cream, and out of this world caramel sauce with the crowning jewel — Bourbon Whipped Cream! «I will love you until my dying day!» I thought the Bourbon Whipped Cream would have a very wimpy hint of Bourbon but again I was wrong. It was the perfect amount and it added a sharp contrast to the overall sweetness of the dish. The owners are the SAME as The Hyppo Gourmet Ice Pops so I am NOT surprised this is going to be my new obsession! The staff were friendly and the décor inside made me want to be an underwater explorer. It was inspired by Jacque Cousteau and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. It will be my mission to go back as soon as possible! [INSIDERSTIP: If you wear a red beanie you get 10% off!]

I loved this little gem! It was a tiny little hole in the walls situated on Hypolita street. We had walked that street the night before and never noticed it so you have to keep an eye out for this one. Breakfast here was perfect with the Hennessy and its S’mores deliciousness. The chocolate sauce was decadent combined with the crushed graham crackers and marshmallow fluff, perfect breakfast for me as it is my birthday! The Jaguar was awesome, too. My girlfriend loved the candied bacon and the homemade bourbon whipped cream and I loved it when I tried a bite or two. We had a milkshake with bananas and Nutella that was so delicious and put us right into a sugar induced food coma. I would definitely say to stop in for a bite while visiting St. Augustine! The seating was limited but first thing in the morning(at ten) it was empty and allowed us to get good spots along the window that were perfect for people watching!
