It’s a beach bar. Not one of those two story fancy pants places with heaters and hostess, but it’s great. Super friendly service, nice specials, great Bloody Mary’s,(pepper bacon). I had the big shrimp special and it was better than the local favorites that didn’t take credit cards and had to wait a hour to get a table. Sarah built our bloody Mary’s and took care of our needs. We left very satisfied and happy.

Great food, great service, and best drinks in town. Perfect low key place to hang out with friends. The chicken fingers and shrimp basket was probably the best I have had in quite sometime! From the outside, this place doesn’t look like much. We had a great time while visiting and will be sure to return!

There isn’t a whole hell of a lot to say about Jack’s other than the fact that if you are from the south I don’t think this qualifies as bbq. This place has a great, vintage walk up bar that is essentially outside. Smoker friendly, to those of you who do and don’t care. Kelly had the peel and eat shrimp and I had the fish sandwich. Both were delicious. Nothing fancy, just good ol’ fashioned beach food. That’s my word and I’m sticking to t.

I had lunch here on Monday. The bartender was super friendly. The BBQ and fries were great! I absolutely love the laid-back beach atmosphere. I felt right at home.

Problem here is the emphasis on the«BBQ» If you are stopping at this near beach eatery to sample some of the Souths best BBQ you are going to be let down… It is a Bar. A Bar with some wonderful, friendly and semi worldly staff. John the bartender was awesome. A menu with about 10 – 12 items and a full liquor bar. A few small TV’s, entertainment and conversation near St Augustine Beach. That all adds up to a good time.

Stopped by on a fun Sunday evening. They had live reggae music but twenty minutes later I still had no service. They were not busy and I could not get the attention of any of the confused bad servers. I left.

Save your money and don’t come here. The best thing on the menu is a fried fish sandwich, the beef BBQ sandwich was edible and lousy and the ribs were too gross to eat– all fat and no meat. The service was friendly and fast but food was terrible. The bathrooms were too gross to use and filthy like a truck stop. It was all open to outside allowing smoking and the smoke just blows into the interior as I tried to eat my meal. Don’t waste your time and money here.

Stopped in for a bite this past weekend and will never go back next time we’re in SA. The food and service was absolutely disgusting; our waitress yelled at us as soon as we parked, was completely unpleasant and smelled like a tobacco shop. Just head next door to the taco shop and save yourself the trouble. Oh, the BBQ is disgusting.

Haven’t tried the bbq… But it’s a fun bar at night. There’s always a live band inside and they’re pretty good! One night it was country music, another night it was light rock, so it’s fun that they change it up. The outside bar is perfect, you can still hear the band but you get the nice FL breeze. This place always has a good crowd, too.

Wife and I ate there on a lark when the Beachcomber was closed for lunch. She had the pork BBQ, I had the beef BBQ. Both were surprisingly good. The waitress/bartender was rough around the edges at first but warmed up as we talked with her. She warned us to move down the bar to avoid attracting the«locals» who were already three sheets to the winds at noon at the other end of the bar. Not kid friendly. Good for a very casual beer and BBQ.

While the sign outside this beach shack says world famous BBQ, I really would pass on the BBQ and stick with the cheese burger and a cold beer. This place seems to be more of a bar and music venue than an actual restaurant. The last time I went it was on a rainy day and all of the tables are outside so I sat at the bar and the rain runs into the place so the floor is all wet, so if you go just expect a good old unpretentious shack which is a cool place to stop for a cold drink after a day at the beach. I won’t even go into describing the bathrooms.
