Ate her for lunch during the week. Nice facility. They have very good lunch prices. My daughter from AZ who eats a lot of Mexican food, enjoyed her entrée as did I. I will definitely return for a second time. I had a chicken and beef burrito that I could only eat half of. Way too much for a lunch item. Looking at the plates from other customs, I could tell that this place does a quality job.

Other’s can say that Casa is not good Mexican, but I hotly beg to differ. It is scrumptious! Oh my goodness, I eat myself nearly sick when I go here. They have HUGE burritos and tasty little sides with them. I like the sweet corn cake, the black bean soup and the spanish rice. But it’s too much food! It’s so good though… love it. There’s always a little margin for error, I suppose and I will say that I don’t like that you only get one glass of punch with your meal, even though the food makes you thirsty. You can get refills on soda, however. Also, I tried the sangria. I’d wanted one since I saw one on another person’s table. I was pregnant, so I couldn’t have it. Once I finally tried it a year later, bleh… Didn’t care for it. Other than that, enjoy! Free nachos and salsa of course.

I know this place is a chain restaurant and many times chain Mexican food can be pretty bad. Being from AZ where you get some pretty authentic Mexican food I was certainly wary. Reading some reviews about it being bad didn’t help, but we tried it out anyway. Well, I’m not sure what the bad review people ate, but I get the Fajitas and they are awesome. The Tortillas are warm and soft and the food is always cooked to perfection. Then add the fried ice cream and you leave there stuffed and satisfied. The service has always been good and the prices are right. If you like fajitas this is the place.

I’m not a huge Casa fan but when a great deal is presented by the company, I will always try to hit it up. My friend Jen won a Cantina party and with the deals that they presented her, it was a great way to end a Friday work day and to get some cheer into a rainy day. The margarita was good, the chips and salsa were my main eating items and the company I was with was superb. Overall a good experience.

When it comes to Mexican food, it’s not my favorite place. But, want a margarita after work? Well, it’s convenient, cheap and serves a purpose. I threw my name into a hat and won a Cantina Party recently. I’ll have to say I didn’t think I would ever win or there was some catch about listening to some insurance schpeel. No, no catch at all. I had to bring friends, they would provide us with apps and discounted beverages and all would be right with the world. So, overall, it was a good experience. I just don’t come expecting 5 star service here. Chips & salsa are ok. Queso dip is good. Margaritas are okay. Our waiter was nice, he was on the ball. It’s not awful, but it’s not great either. I guess the A-OK would have to sum it up.

LOVE this place! Granted… I haven’t been here in a couple years but since then, this is one place that I’ve kept in the front of my mind. Chips and salsa were delicious! Waitstaff was nice… but I dont think they check some IDs. I’ve noticed a couple groups of «kids» drinking margaritas.(Hmmm…) I loved everything I had here! Would Definitely go back if I’m in the St Louis area again. Furthermore, this place is right below an amazing Funny Club! Great place to have some food and drinks and head upstairs for a fun night!

1. No vegetarian beans. C’mon, Casa. 2. Terrible salsa. 3. Not the friendliest service. I went tonight for happy hour. I had two margs and had to get up out. Our server was super busy since we were a rather large group but I waited with my card out for some time. I finally went to the bar and I apologetically asked if I could settle since I had to cut out. She didn’t seem to appreciate that too much. OHWELL. I hadn’t been to a Casa in years due to the aforementioned issues and definitely don’t see myself going back anytime soon.

Casa is good if you are in the mood for Tex Mex, more american kind of food. This particular Casa I have been to several times and each time I have had really good service. I bring friends here that I know aren’t crazy about independent restaurants like I am, for something different, for them. I will be back, probably with a small group of people… But it’s not usually my first pick.

This place had a super bland regular salsa, which might have ben just tomato paste with a little tapatio added, that it brought out with its chips, and then if you requested you could get a spicy only somewhat bland salsa, which was mostly just spices no veggies. They are so stingy with guacamole that you have to get the managers permission to have that instead of meat. I ordered a taco salad which was 9 dollars, and it was almost entirely iceberg lettuce shreds. They have very few vegetarian options, but I expect that most places. The fried tortilla for my taco salad wasnt to greasy, my wifes had patches of where it was greasier on it. The service was pretty good, which is why I gave two stars. Too expensive, being only at the high end of 10 $ on average per dish, for cheaply made food. Will not eat there again if I have a choice.

I met a former co-worker for lunch at the CG Westport location. We meet periodically for lunch in the Westport area for convenience. It had been many years since I had eaten at Casa Gallardo. The lunch was not bad, better than expected. It is very commercial, predictable southwestern style food similar to Chevy’s but probably a notch better than Chevy’s. It is hard to judge when you are there only once. It falls in the same category as Ruiz and Hacienda. Mass appeal, gringo-ized. Avoid the chips and salsa. The chips are typical, thin and light with little flavor. The salsa is an abomination. Mix tomato paste with catsup and add equal parts cumin until it is bitter and you have it. I had a rolled chicken quesadilla. The chicken was fine, not dry. It was large and I ate about half of it. The rice and beans were both serviceable. This is not a place I am likely to go with Ms T, mainly because of the style. I really prefer comida casera or a taqueria. This is American restaurant Mexican food.

Well… I went in here saying to myself, «How bad could it be?» The service was great. Chips and salsa were immediate and good. Salsa a bit on the tomato paste side. I ordered the special, the chile rellano. When it arrived it appeared soggy and it was. I like this Mexican dish because of the textures, but this dish had none. The rice look like they threw a little bit of tomato, but lacked flavor other wise. The sauteed vegetables were edible, yet greasy. I did not try a margarita as I was on a lunch break, but iced tea is pricey in this joint. I think STL only cares about margaritas, and chips and salsa. Maybe I need to open a Cantina.

Well. what should I say. I have had good and bad experiences at this place. to be honest as some other people have said they have really good salsa and their fajitas are really good. but anything else have never enlightened my taste buds. Most of the food there has been bland and spiceless(I know am from India am not expecting it to be spicy hot, but Taco bell has more flavors in their taco than this place) Service is good though, they seat you well and the seats and well placed. If only the food here was more flavorful.

Casa Gallardo at West Port Plaza is our favorite place for fajitas. We like the chicken fajita and the shrimp fajita. The make-it-yourself fajita dinner is served on a hot metal plate with sauteed onions and red bell peppers, Mexican rice, exceptional black beans, shredded jack cheese, shredded lettuce, pico de gallo, a dollop of sour cream, a stack of warm tortillas and a scoop of sweet cornbread cake. They also have a good house salad, discounted if added to the entrée. We like the house avocado ranch dressing or the vinaigrette dressing. We also enjoy the«deep fried» ice cream dessert, topped with honey, nuts, cinnamon, sweet tortilla flakes and whipped cream. Delicious. The outdoor dining area overlooks the pedestrian mall at the plaza, shaded by the building or by umbrellas over the tables. On inclement days, we like the bright glassed-in sun room with the same view. You can see and hear the entertainment at West Port Plaza on various days and times from April through September. The restaurant’s Cantina has weekday happy hour specials. THISRESTAURANTCLOSEDTWOYEARSAFTER I WROTETHISREVIEW.

Service was excellent and the restaurant was clean. We were seated and served quickly on a busy Friday night. Unfortunately, the food was terribly bland and flavorless. The texture was quite poor. It was better a couple years ago and has clearly declined. The salsa tasted like ketchup. I probably will not return.

A Mexican food chain, Casa’s has the best chips and salsa, hands down. Warm, crisp tortilla chips sprinkled with just the right amount of salt are hard to resist. I paired it with one of their frozen margaritas and I was set. Our waitress was right on top of it, so everything came out pretty quickly. The food was pretty good, what I expected restaurant chain. Next time I’m in town, I’d like to come back and check out their Happy Hour specials. From complimentary food to discount beer, drinks and margaritas. Sounds like a good time, especially if it’s out on their patio! Areeba!
