If I could leave zero stars I would. They weren’t busy. Never coming back though. I’m very angry. We were seated at our table for over 15 minutes our waiter never came to even say hello. We were just here last night and had great service. After tonight… I can understand why they have such bad reviews and stars. We’re starving and now driving around at 10pm trying to find a place to eat after working all day and thank you Outback for putting a bad taste in my mouth. We come here at least once a week and tip generously you can keep all your food, because we’re not coming back.

We’ve been to this outback multiple times and have had great meals, but this time was disappointing. We started off with the blooming onion, which was just meh. The sauce was weird and not much to my liking. Ordered the strawberry sangria, which was pretty good and honestly the only decent part of the meal. My husband and I both ordered the teriyaki medallions, with the beef cooked to medium. What we got was meat that was barely cooked to rare, and was so tough the steak knife could barely cut through it. I normally don’t send meals back, but this one I did, and got the fire roasted pork chop, which was delicious. This experience won’t turn me off of this restaurant, but we just learned what NOT to order in the future. The waitress was very nice and attentive and replaced my meal without complaint and didn’t charge for the meal I returned.

My last visit my wife ordered the natural cut bone in Ribeye, to begin with it was huge, we ended up making three meals out of it, plus it was very tasty and very tender. We always enjoy ourselves and the service is top rate. We enjoy their selection of wine and the full bar. We do miss your pork porterhouse. Now that was something good. We dine early and there is always adequate parking and plenty of seating. Keep up the great job. We’ll always be back. We recommend this store to all our friends and family.

OK food… it is not really an Outback as they did not accept an coupon to upgrade steak size… when that happens I stop ordering food… no second drink and no dessert…

I ave been to this place so many times and i ba e not rated yet. Well here it is. The blooming onion is always one of those dishes that is fun to start off with but be careful not to eat to much. The filet mignon with the bleu cheese is one of my favorites. The margaritas is a must have with dinner. The Fosters are ice cold and a great addition.

Took our 14 year old for her birthday on a stormy night for a family dinner for 10. The restaurant wasn’t as busy as a regular weekend evening. She wanted a steak and her first taste of lobster. Steaks purchased at all price points were overlooked(medium had no pink, medium-well was charred) the meat was like beef jerky. Tough, dry. Even the prime rib was tough and not juicy. We let the waiter know and three of us sent meals back. The rest complained but ate their dinners. The worst was the lobster, two tails so small I honestly was shocked. Really, really expensive tiny tails. One was okay, the other tasted so bad my daughter refused to eat it. The waiter was nice, no fault there. We felt really bad he had to serve seriously substandard food. So disappointed, I thought they were known for really good meat/seafood?

First time eating there. And maybe the last time. Really bad service. Our waiter only came to us one time to see if we needed anything. We asked for to go boxes. And that was the last time we seen female waitress. I had to flag some one else down so we can get out to go boxes. And then we waited for another ten minutes for boxes. . Then we asked for a bag But never came back after we paid for our food. I told my husband to leave. I went to the host and ask her for a bag. To go. Really bad service.

What a disappointment! We live 2 hours from an Outback so since we had business in Hollister wanted to work dinner into our trip. We arrived at 5:00 to find 15 – 20 people waiting for tables while the restaurant was only about 1⁄3rd full. The host did apologize saying that his«crew» was just coming to work… so at 5:20 we were finally seated. I ordered the fillet mignon… it looked thick and wonderful on the menu of course… what arrived was less than half the thickness of a typical fillet and totally without flavor. The food reminded my husband and I of what one would get at a Sizzler. Needless to say we won’t be back.

I really wish I had read other Unilocalers before eating here. Lousy experience, bad food. Server was the only positive thing… he was nice, helpful, and brought us what we needed in a timely manner. We were at the restaurant an hour before we got our food, it was so slow. And when we got it, it was not great. The potatoes looked and tasted like they had been made the day before, and they were not hot. Two of the three steaks were actually seasoned and cooked well, but the third was overcooked. None of the food was hot, more lukewarm. We complained to the server and he talked with the manager who relayed to the server to offer us a free dessert, which we really didn’t want but decided to take anyway. But the manager never came out to talk with us, which I took to mean that he/she didn’t care. They weren’t that busy… it was a Thursday night. And, I went to the Outback corporate site and put in my complaint and received the standard«we’ll get back to you in 24 – 48 hours» or something, and it’s been well over 4 days and I haven’t heard back. So I don’t think they care either. The thing is, we’ve been here before and it’s never been great. But we keep wanting to it to be awesome and the advertisements sure make it seem awesome. But we won’t be back to this location. And I doubt I’ll try other locations either.

I saw the one in Salinas was open for lunch and wanted to check out the menu. They have some nice offerings for lunch at $ 8.49 to $ 9.99 with choices or soups, salad and a mix and easy no quick items if you are in a hurry. They also offer the their full menu which is actually 3 different menus since their selections of offerings is growing to the size of a BJ’s Brewery or Cheesecake Factory. I liked the look of a new appetizer by the name of Volcano lobster and shrimp, it was a tasty lightly fried tempura batter mostly shrimp plate tossed in a seasoned hot sauce. No dipping sauces which kept the focus on the hot sauce and flash fried shrimp. Then moved on to the French Onion soup, if a soup is not hot and steamy I feel like it is a after thought for the house And their soup was luke warm at best. Finally on to the Alice Springs quesadilla, it was a simple chicken quesadilla no real extra spice or flavor to make it stand out I can’t say I would order it again. The service was great and the staff member very knowledgable and helpful on the menu. Our beverages always refilled quickly and the table kept clear as we progressed through courses. My friend had the pasta dish with a very large crab cake on top, the crab cake was done to perfection and pasta like the quesadilla was fairly plain. I enjoyed the visit in Salinas.

My husband and I had dinner this evening at Outback. I ordered the sirloin and crab cake(18.99) and my husband ordered the lobster and filet mignon.(28.99).The baked potato soup arrived and the base was so thin it resembled Campbell’s soup mixed with water, no milk. My crab cake, which was highly anticipated, tasted like stuffing with a dash of sawdust-there was no tell tale signs or taste resembling anything akin to crab. The baked potato was dry, the steak was over cooked and the service was atrocious. Once our server took the order she virtually disappeared, there was no bread brought to us or even flatware or a napkin. Someone else brought our meals and we had to request silverware and bread, it wasn’t until later the server finally showed up with the bill. This will be my last visit here, we spent $ 75 and the food and service were abysmal.

A friend and I went there for lunch. No staff were visible when my friend and I arrived, and we had to seat ourselves. When the waiter finally arrived, I asked him about the lunch specials. He gave a confusing answer as to what was a lunch special, and told us that they didn’t have any lunch menus. He said that when he returned with our drinks, he would let us know if what we selected from the only menu that they had was available as a lunch option. Upon his return, we showed him the lunch menu from the internet on my phone. He then acknowledged that there was in fact a special lunch menu. We both ordered Diet Cokes, which were flat! We both ordered the«New» Ribeye Melt. It was cold, the meat was extremely well done what there was of it, there were just a few slivers of bacon, the cheese wasn’t melted, and the garlic aioli was completely absent! A thirteen dollar sandwich it was not! The Salinas Outback has slipped to one of the worst restaurants in town! Don’t waste your time or your money!

This place is gone way downhill over the years. We went there last night to enjoy the advertised special for steak and unlimited shrimp only to find out they don’t honor it at that restaurant in fact they honor few or none of the advertised specials you see on television. The place was almost empty at 8:30PM. Terrible service as well which is ridiculous since there was only like 4 to 5 tables that had occupants. After speaking with the manager he did give us the special price this time only. This time only was fine with us since we’re never going back.

I haven’t written a lot of reviews, but I had to write one for Outback after reading the negative reviews that have been posted recently. My hubby was craving a juicy steak and wanted to go to Outback. I decided to look at Unilocal because we haven’t been for YEARS. The reviews weren’t too promising. I didn’t want to go, but he insisted. Our experience was wonderful. Marlene was our waitress and she was cute, friendly. and very efficient. She greeted us immediately. We received our drinks in about 3 mins and apps in under 5 mins. We ordered our main course when she brought our apps and received our salads shortly after. Our dinners came about 10 mins later. Everything was DELICIOUS and our steaks were cooked perfectly medium rare. Marlene followed up with us just the right amount of times and brought our check promptly when we asked for it(we had to catch a movie). Now, we did go at 5:30 on a Sat night. It was a little busy but not too bad yet. I know people are quick to write a bad review but don’t necessarily spend the time to write a good one. I felt I needed to.

This is pretty much the worst outback I have ever been to. We ordered the smaller beer and the bar tender failed to mention that it was happy hour and tall beers for literally half the price of a small beer. Who does that. Food was not good. Service was worse. She was nice but not helpful in anyway. We will absolutely never ever come back here!

Ok, so we went back in December. This review has taken so long because I’ve been trying to get that night out of my head. Ugh! Manager on duty is at the bar getting drunk with his ghetto as hell buddies. We order the seared tuna app. Yum! The guys at the bar are getting kinda loud and obnoxious. It sucks, but we wanted a carb-free dinner out. We order our mains. Ok, surf and turf. Double yum. We’re waiting for the server to bring out the food. It’s the moment of drool time when we can see her coming out with the plates. One of the manager’s buddies stands up from the bar, turns around and stumbles a few steps towards our table until he’s maybe 1 or 2 feet from us. He VOMITS right toward us. It smells so freaking nasty, both my husband and myself are trying to hold down the food we just ate. We tell the server that we can’t eat. We tell her that we feel sick now. So, she takes the food back to the kitchen and brings us the bill. Full price meal. You’ve got to be kidding. We tell her we don’t think we should have to pay for food we can’t eat and for an experience like this. She goes to the manager to talk about this. The manager is too busy trying to get is drunk vomit friend a fresh drink. Gee thanks. So she comes back with a bill that still charges us for apps. Fine. Whatever. We pay and go just to get away from the smell of vomit. Officially THEWORST dining experience I’ve had in my life. Unilocal needs to let people do ZERO stars. This place deserves NOTHING. The manager needs to be fired. Side Note: This establishment is totally cool with having people get up from the bar, drunk as hell, and drive off. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Our server, Donnie, was awesome. That was the only saving grace. Blooming onion: burnt. Outback Special medium: like shoe leather and about as flavorful. Steak and coconut shrimp: steak like leather and shrimp not bad. Wings surprisingly decent. Bread good to go. Caesar salad: bland. I think that is enough sad. Way overpriced for this food. Donnie did compensate with an awesome dessert.

I’ve been a fan of Outback for years. This location must be the evil step child of the corporation. It’s embarrassing. It’s bad. It is poorly ran and the only reason I give it 2 stars is that the server was at least polite. Food took 42 minutes and my child was starving. I’ve attached the pictures to show what they’re best foot forward looks like. When I asked to speak with the manager, a kitchen manager came out trying to explain that the food was decent. Yes. he used the word«Decent». Finally the Floor manager came out and it was clear I was disturbing her lunch as she was still chewing while talking to me. I guess I’ll just stick with the Outback locations I know and like.
