Hard to go wrong with Einsteins. Makes a quick and relatively healthy breakfast. I’m a fan of their power bagel… a lot more protein instead of all the carb-loaded bagels. Load it up with some peanut butter and this makes a delicious meal. Coffee here is also a plus.

I love einsteins! Have to have it once a week! Asiago bagel toasted with blueberry cream cheese or I love the tasty turkey with strawberry cream cheese instead of the onion chive shmear. Never dissapointed when I come here! :)

I love Einstein, but this location is probably the worst I’ve been to. The service is usually pretty crappy, but the food is as good as the other locations I’ve visited(when they get the order right). We keep coming because it’s down the street from my house, but I’m over the subpar service so I think it’s about time we move on.

Okay, what is going on with Einstein Bagels on South Temple. They are on their way down, and sinking quickly. Two weekends in a row they have ran out of product, 1130 am. I use to go there and purchase bagels and stopped because of customer service, now they are lacking guidance from management. I believe that they should let the ship sink or maybe corporate should throw them a lifeline, but do it fast.

Oh gosh. This is super funny. Maybe these guys should just stick to bagels. We had a huge box dropped off at our office of pastries and we were so excited to jump right in and eat them. Then we all had a laugh. Not good at all dry — flavorless. There was this beautiful orange muffin with frosting on top and we thought oh it must be pumpkin. We bit cut it up to share and to this day we still don’t know what it is. Is it pumpkin or was it carrot. We still don’t know. Everything else was just blah no taste and dry. Dang it. But 1 stars for being pretty.

I come crawling back to Einsteins because I’m a sucker for their bagels and cream cheese. But the service here is inconsistent. My order is frequently made incorrectly or the staff will be scrambling in a dizzy to get a huge catering order ready and have you wait for them until they’re finished with no acknowledgement of your presence. It’s fine and I usually shrug my shoulders and head about my day since I’m sure the employees are just college/high school students who obviously aren’t wholly invested in the bagel business. But, it becomes a little tiresome if you like to make it a quick stop before work or errands. I now only reserve my trips to Einsteins for days where I have nowhere to be.

Don’t bother going after 11am. They are always out of plain bagels and you can expect to find full bins of flavors no one wants like, egg, pumpkin, or cranberry. I don’t know why they just don’t close then. Go somewhere else

Took me 30 seconds to realize why this place has such low ratings. Service sucks! Totally under staffed. Save your time and go somewhere else!

Welp…3 strikes you’re out. I kept coming back hoping they would redeem themselves and it was just a one time fluke… but nope, bad service is just a pattern at this location. It’s unfortunate I am writing this review because I really like the taste of their bagels and shmear, but that’s about it. And that’s the reason it’s getting 3 stars and not less. My experience with this location has been nothing but disappointing. They mess up my order EVERY time, either forget to toast it, or made my coffee hot instead of iced, or forget my side of fruit. Not to mention, it takes FOREVER to get your food. The workers have been polite every time, I just think they haven’t been properly trained and the business is suffering as is the customers’ experience. Too bad, I love their bagels, I think I will try a different location.

They don’t make it very clear that you order at one end and pay at the other. The staff all seem like they hate their job. Food is good and service is quick though.

Came into Einsteins hung over and in need of carbs and coffee. And orange juice because I’m selfish. My friend bought me breakfast. Score. We ordered our food, and I thought the cheated the system and got free real cheese on my breakfast sandwich. Wrong. We checked out with Jeff. The best employee on this team. The others were also great, from beginning to finish. But Jeff, hands down, employee of the year. So impressed. Call me, Jeff.

Very disappointed… I ordered the Nova Lox sandwich and when I opened it up there was hardly no cream cheese! It looked like she placed the cream cheese on the bagel and than scrapped it off… For $ 7.00 I was disappointed.

Bagels and Shmear were highly delicious, Coffee was fresh, flavorful and perfectly roasted, overall a very good breakfast experience marred only by a complicated menu and ordering process. I suffer mild cognitive breakdowns when confronted with too much choice at a restaurant, I literally forget how to think, so decisions like what cream cheese of 6 – 8 varieties(Shmear) goes best with which of 18 bagel types is hard to process, let alone the toasting and slicing options, do they smear the shmear for you or does it come in a little tub, how much do things cost when ordering ala carte, do I pay where I order or where I pick up etc. and with a line forming behind you it’s easy to get flustered. This place short-circuited my brain, though it was my first time there. Even processing the Shmear thing threw me off; what the hell is shmear? I just wanted to throw my trust in the 17 year old cashier and say just feed me dude! Eventually I settled on a japaleno cheese bagel with some kind of shmear suggested by the aforementioned cashier. It was a perfect balance of hot(spicy), cheesy and creamy and I got an apple cinnamon bagel with honey almond shmere as well. Both bagels were fresh, soft, chewy and so dang good I forgot all about my ordering overload. The apple bagel suffered from the fresh apple slices on top(kinda soggy under the pieces). I found the shmeres to be just cream cheese whipped with little chunks of flavor, and super tasty. Coffee was great and the inside was clean and cozy in the way of beige tinged chain coffee places. Reasonable prices. I will definitely go back and take my time to order something awesome again.

Super helpful and friendly staff. I was tasked by a local Title 1(underprivileged urban) elementary school to pick up end of day bagels for a school function the following morning(books & bagels = kids get a free breakfast and a free book). I was running 5 minutes late and I called the shop to tell them what was up, the staff was fantastic and said they would look for me and take care of me even though I arrived 5 minutes after they closed. Their willingness to help me and the school kids out was truly fantastic and in direct contrast to other experiences I have had with other businesses(e.g. see my review of Inkleys for a nearly identical situation).

Einsteins is pretty good. It’s nothing amazing but they have a lot of choices and you get what you pay for.

Bagels have nice texture, crème cheese is soft and has a wide range of variety. If you buy 1 box of bagel you get 2 free crème cheese boxes! Honey almond and dried tomatoes are my favorite.

Took 25 minutes for two lunch sandwiches. Manager grabbed an employee and went out for a smoke break during the lunchtime rush. Manager came back ten minutes later with pack of cigarettes in hand and started preparing food without washing hands. Really unsanitary. Random people who knew the employees would casually walk into food preparation area to talk and mingle with employees. Manager is rude and never seems to be working. The restaurant was filthy. Nothing was clean and all garbage cans were overflowing. I will never go back to this location. New manager and training is needed for the other employees.

Poor Einstein’s, they always get so beat up in reviews. They have the people that swear they are bagel aficionados that know Einstein’s is a evil bagel conglomerate and then the others that want Einstein’s to be hip coffee/bagel/pastry/breakfast shop and are immediately let down. Lets get this straight. This location is a basic functional bagel workhorse, nothing great, nothing exceptional but nothing horrible either. I’m actually typing this from this exact location right now as I’m here almost every Saturday morning. Its a good location right off of South Temple. There’s almost a constant stream of people between 8am and 11am looking for their bagel fix. For all of those who harp on how mediocre Einsteins bagels are, I’m readily waiting for you to tell me where a good bagel is around downtown. There’s Rich’s in Holladay or Sandy but nothing close to downtown. They have a good selection to pick from but if you like the specialty or gourmet bagels don’t wait to late to come in. I regularly like to get the Green Chile Bagel and if you’re here after 10am on Saturday they’re usually gone because they only made 6 of them. They have their normal assortment of shmears. The sandwiches are really mediocre so I usually just go for a bagel and spread. If you want to order a cup of fruit and drink you can get disappointingly expensive so I recommend sticking to one type of food. They price everything to really get the most from you buying one item. A $ 3 bagel, $ 3 cup of fruit and $ 2 drink makes for a very empty feeling $ 8 breakfast. So keep in mind you’re going to the McDonald’s of bagel places and you’ll be fine. The service is functional not warm and fuzzy. The bagels are bagels and yes they’re probably better that one time you were in Brooklyn at the highest rated bagel shop in all of NYC but you’re not just keep in mind its Salt Lake. Other than that, make sure to leave a Green Chile Bagel for me.

I broke one of my cardinal vacation rules here – eating at a national chain. But I had little choice, as I had skipped dinner the night befofe, needed something quick on my way out of town, and found my top two breakfast choices closed. I’ve eaten Einsten Bros in Chicago a few times, so I figured that I knew what I was getting, i.e. something decent but not great. Wrong. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and was alarmed when they handed it to me within 30 seconds. Usually ravenous hunger enhances the flavor of food, so this thing must have been really shitty to begin with because my impression at first bite was«Yuck!» The«cheddar» cheese added nothing but saltiness; the bagel(sesame) was chewy and bland; and the egg may as well not even have been there. But the worst was the turkey sausage – truly terrible. It may have been the shittiest meat that I’ve consumed in several years. Just awful.
