Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts

I like this store’s selection and sales. Hate their location on two busy streets with a tiny parking lot. I’m sure they’ve had many accidents.

This place is pretty bad. The building is super old and seems to be two decades overdue for a remodel. Their are huge lines at the fabric counter, as well as the checkout area.
The parking situation is terrible, with a tiny, cramped, private lot.
The selection is ok, but they’re out of stock on many items.
I was fortunate to find what I needed, but I’m glad I don’t have to depend on this place for anything.

I like small. I like the area the store is in. I remember when this building was Salmon’s, the first «large» hardware store of its kind (ha, ha!). The staff is always pleasant to me. I’m not into crafts or sewing much, but I find this store has what I need.

Not sure why there are so many negative reviews, but I had a good experience here. True, there aren’t a lot of sales people working, but the ones who were there were helpful and nice. They had a decent selection beyond just fabric, and the prices were good. They have an enormous sale section, too.
We went on a Friday afternoon. Maybe the weekend is nutso? We didn’t even have to wait to have our fabric cut.

Selection was horrible. The 18 year old store clerk kept calling me «Darling.» I ended up leaving and going to Michaels.

Cutting counter girls are always really nice, but sometimes the girls at the front seem a little annoyed. Generally employees are helpful and there’s a good selection. Pattern counter is often quite messy.

This is hands down the worst J.A. in the lower 48: both worst staff and worst parking. Go to the one on Redwood Road. It’s far larger, they generally aren’t rude, slow and incompetent and the parking is easy and plentiful. This location is infamous with JoAnn regulars are almoat certain to enrage. Emergencies only and take a Xanax first.

The corporate office of Joanne’s in Ohio nrYour store on 3300 south in Salt Lake City had a BIG PROBLEM. I have never been there with more than one very slow cashier. I’ve seen up to in line 20 people in line to pay with another 20 waiting for fabric to be cut and only one person cutting. With that many customers are there really only two employees in the store. This store is always such mess compared to the other Joanne’s in utah. There are very few options in this area and I try to ovoid going there at all cost. I was there tonight Friday night (not a big fabric shopping night) there were probably less than 8 customers and I still waited over 15 minutes to pay for fabric. Obviously the corporation cares little for there location here. The cashier told me the air conditioning was controlled back East just turned off the 2^nd week on Dec. no wonder they can’t get anyone yowork there, I’m sure customers are very frustrated by the horrible lack of any customer service. Once I called while standing in line waiting, asked for the manager told her how many people were in line to pay, she had no idea and did come out to help eventually. Come on your other stores seem to run fine don’t forget about this one it needs some major attention! And if you are a customer bring alot of patience.

Fabric section always messy, and most of the staff could care less about the customers. They are annoyed when you ask questions, mainly because they don’t have a clue and never have the right answer, so you wil hear things like «oh, if it is not there, I guess we don’t have it», which really means, «if you can’t find it in the middle of that huge mess, because we never organize our fabric, I guess I’m not going to bother to try help you find it…»
I was there yesterday and some clearance items did not ring up to the right price, so when I pointed it out to the cashier, she completely freaked out, said to me that it was still a great deal while rolling her eyes, and called a manager right away without even trying to figure it out herself.
I have been to other Joann stores and the staff is wonderful, know their stuff, and are very friendly, so not sure who does the hiring at this location, but they could do so much better. Great product selection but very unorganized place!

Worst customer service ever. No one was there to help. Employees acted annoyed to answer questions. Waited 25 min for fabric to be cut while the employee just chatted with someone in front of us.

It’s Joann’s, fabrics of all kinds! The staff bugs me most of the time. Many don’t know what they are doing and don’t care to help and they pull knits when cutting your fabric-​my biggest pet peeve. I LOVE their coupons and can usually find exactly what I need. Every accessory you could want can be found here! I’m a «regular» and am bound to be forever. Plus, convenient location!

I went here 2 days prior to Christmas to purchase gift cards for some members of my gigantic Mormon family (THEY LOVE CRAFTS!!). The place was a madhouse, which is understandable, given the holiday. Not sure what else to say about this store, other than it is conveniently located near Brickyard Plaza and a Wells Fargo.

Nice staff, very helpful but when my kids needed to use the restrooms they said no. Lost out on a lot of business because of that one experience.

Almost always find just what I want and things I didn’t know I wanted yet! Usually full of customers. Not enough cashiers at times. Good sales!

Impressed by craft selections! The Jo-​Anns I remember was rows and rows of fabric bolts, sewing notions and hundreds of thread spools.
I’d been looking for some craft supplies that I was not able to find at Michael’s in Sugar House and had been told to check Jo-​Anns. Well, I’ll be! The fabric store has branched out to many other craft and organizational projects and supplies!
On a recent trip in, I purchased a cutting mat, several pieces of scrapbook paper, small seed beads, a paper punch and some stencils. Cool! Prices and sales are comparable to Michael’s. Worth checking out!

For the size of the store, they do have a good range and selection of different types of crafting materials and tools. Great discounts on merchandise, too: currently, Christmas items are 60% off!
