They forgot the turkey on my California Turkey Sandwich. Ummm… I’m not even sure how that is possible. The person who took our order must have been having a bad day as well… short, annoyed answers. Just go somewhere else.

Ordered the lemon poppyseed salad they have pictures of all over the store, it’s seasonal so they don’t have ingredients listed on the menu… it came with pineapple(? why) which wasn’t pictured and which I am also ALLERGIC to. All the food was gross too

We stumbled upon this place one night while trying to find somewhere to eat in Sugarhouse. It’s now a definite go-to for us whenever we’re in Salt Lake. I’m saddened to see the three star and below reviews for their locations, mostly touting lousy service. We’ve been here several times and just recently visited the location in Sandy. We’ve never had bad service or rude employees and the food has been great each time. We are fans of the soup/sandwich/salad fare. When you add baked goods to that, we’re even happier. While there are other places of this type, we prefer Paradise for their selection and mix of flavors. I seem to keep going back to the chicken artichoke panini as I love the mix of creamy flavors with a touch of coarse mustard. The creamy part comes from the melted Swiss cheese. Pairs well with any of their two or three daily soups, but best with a mixed green salad IMO. Comes with a chocolate chip cookie, as do all their sandwiches, I believe. Big selection of wraps and sandwiches, salads, baked goods, and even breakfast offerings. Their jalapeño cornbread is a personal fav. Check out their menu on their website. There’s something for everyone. Their locations I’ve visited(Sugarhouse, Central City and Sandy) have large dining rooms and ample seating. Self serve drink stations. Good for groups. Give them a try. You’ll feel better eating here than at a burger or pizza joint.

To be honest I just come here for the wifi when I want to go out for a meeting or just some work time elsewhere. None of the food is great and the service could use some work, but it’s clean and there’s lots of seating which is nice especially during their busy lunch hour. I order something new every time so I don’t feel rude for using their wifi to work. Sandwiches are meh, even their brie grilled cheese that I was very excited about, and I have zero clue why people rave about their cookies as they are very standard and dry. The best item I’ve had are their peach muffins but they don’t taste fresh. Overall, one big MEH. But thanks for the wifi! I’ll keep buying so I can use it.

Apparently they have food here like soups, sandwiches and salads. Let’s be honest … I come for the chocolate chip cookie. I stay for the chocolate chip cookie. I dream of the chocolate chip cookie. I have yet to be disappointed in the chocolate chip cookie. Ok, so I have tried the other foods too. I have partaken of the tomato soup, the berry salad, and many of the various sandwiches. All has been tasty and I can honestly say that I have not eaten anything here that I have not enjoyed. Also … they CHOCLATECHIPCOOKIES that are just so good. They are so good! I mean they have other cookies too, but there is a reason that they are known for the chocolate chip variety and why I have now mentioned it more than one review should have.

Super friendly staff. Prices are moderate but what I like most about is the fact that they take time to know you by name like friends. When I arrive they already know what I want and make it super fast.

Ordered a bagel with cheese. Got a store bought bagel with a tub of spread that didnt even cover one side of my bagel. Yuck, i could have gone to smiths. I almost slipped on some gunk on the floor and had my coffee spill all over me and the floor being so hot. Nobody apologized and had to tell two different employees there was crap on the floor in which i almost broke my neck but luckily just spilled hot coffee all over my hands and self and floor so u best be wiping it up! for how pricey it is here you dont get what you pay for. Bakery??? Then make your own bagels. I will never be back. cookies are not worth the price tag either.

After recently observing that I wasn’t going to review many chains(sorry if you’re waiting breathlessly for my 1600 word treatise on McDonald’s or a diatribe railing against the various kinda«culinary wonders» of Taco Bell — they’re never coming), here we are back with a chain. This particular one happens to be on here because it’s closest and consequently where I’ve wound up the most(though I had a very nice business meeting at the one in AF and took a break during a recording session downtown — the downtown location would rate an easy 3 and I found it relatively enjoyable), such as today. One of the main issues with Paradise is that it’s a chain trying to largely pretend it’s not a chain or, if it admits it’s a chain, it wants to be a high end chain. So, all of the trappings that someone at their corporate sees at either local or high end places they try to stuff into the restaurants, such as «artisan-style» chairs, their sort of kitschy hand-lettered logo and the various«flair» dotting the walls. This particular location even has a gas fireplace with a love seat stationed across from it. It misses on creating that sort of cozy intimacy, however, by absurdly high ceilings. High ceilings and tile floors, in case anyone has missed this point, somehow, creates a lot of voice bounce and general noisiness, which could be alleviated by knocking off about 10′ or so with a drop ceiling. The food itself is nothing spectacular and ranges from mostly ok to absurdly overpriced. Definitely stick with the paninis, though. What I wanted was a nice pastrami or corned beef sandwich, meat stacked high, bread nicely crusted on the outside, sort of like I had in the Dakota Thyme review, only more to how I wanted it. Closest thing I could get was the roast beef, so I ordered that. My wife had the chicken artichoke panini with squash soup and my son had mac & cheese(brought to you by Kraft). The chicken artichoke thing was well-cooked and overall tasted ok, but not above that. The squash soup would have fit nicely into the cups they serve the fruit salad for kids meals and it would have been plenty. I first mistook my sandwich for a half sandwich as it was a very small portion of rather bland roast beef folded up to look like more with a ton of even blander bread. The sole redeeming feature of what I had was the horseradish sauce, which, considering I don’t like horseradish as a general rule, was quite good in small doses. The cookies were ok, but again nothing especially outstanding and Apple Junction does chocolate chip about a thousand times better. The time before this I had the club, which was in the same range, though slightly better as they managed to actually put more meat on it. For what they’re charging per sandwich(nevermind all the other extraneous crap coming with), they should be either a lot higher end or a lot higher quantity, preferably both. They do have a decent drink selection and I’d be remiss not to mention that and some of their other pastries range slightly better, but there is not a compelling reason to go there… unless they’re with a group of other chains that are notably worse.

Positives: their cornbread muffins are so good and they have free wi-fi Negative: the ice tea was way to strong and the mac and cheese is literally kraft’s mac and cheese

I can only attest to the fact that I’ve ordered over the phone and had someone in our SLC office pick up a dozen cookies. So I haven’t been to this location in person. Last week, a few colleagues in our SLC office bent over backwards to help me out with a few reoccurring issues that were happening. I wanted to express my gratitude and asked one of the colleagues if there was a Paradise Bakery close to the office or on her route to the office. She said yes and gave me this location. When I called, I asked to speak to a manager to handle my(IMO) out of the ordinary order. A dozen chocolate chip cookies, which I’d pay for over the phone, and have someone else come pick up. The manager I spoke with was really accommodating and I told her that the person picking up the cookies would be there after 12noon. My colleagues had no issues picking up my/their order. And the cookies were tasty(so the ladies said!) :)

Monday & Tuesday nights KIDSEATFREE!(With a paying adult meal, of course) There are only two things I order… The Chicken Walnut Sandwich(it’s mayo, lettuce and tomato served on Paradise Molasses bread), and/or The Crumbly Blue Cheese Salad, WITH chicken(it’s Romaine lettuce with crumbled Gorgonzola, dried cranberries & sunflower seeds, tossed with Caesar dressing)…and grilled chicken, of course.(the chicken is not included in this salad) — it costs extra. If you order a sandwich, you get a free cookie — ask if you can have the Black Diamond cookie(’cause it’s da best) — otherwise, you get a chocolate chip cookie… and it’s pretty damn good too! In fact, all of their cookies are delicious — after you eat one, you’ll be Googling around trying to find a copykat recipe for them — So, you can make ‘em at home! I left with two large salads, and a dozen cookies(black diamond, chocolate chip, snickerdoodles, and lemon) — cost $ 27 I think their prices are a little high for sandwiches, soup, and salad… but meh — it’s good. :)

I just can’t handle this chain. Drab, dull, and boring food. Edible, I guess, but nothing special at all. Way overpriced. Assembly line feel. Assembly line flavor. If you want good sandwiches, soups, and salads, hit up The Robin’s Nest, The Boston Deli, or one of the Soup Kitchens. But do yourself a favor. Drive past Paradise.

Paradise Bakery to me is one of those places where it doesn’t come to the top of my mind when thinking of places to go and eat. I like it, but I don’t go out of my way to eat here. Nothing really stands out to me at this place, but when I do happen to go here I like it. Everything is pretty much freshly made, which is always a plus so there’s really nothing to complain about. The only thing I could think of is probably the prices, which are a wee bit high, but it is what it costs to eat fresh. I guess the reason why I don’t really think about going out to eat at Paradise Bakery is because the way they make their sandwiches, salads, wraps, etc. are what I typically do at home. So, I guess if you’re running short on time, stopping here is a quick way to get that sandwich that you would have made at home otherwise. Oh, but I do love their jalapeño corn bread! Recommendation(s): Jalapeño Corn Bread with their Fire Roasted Tomato Soup.

I went there for breakfast and the ordering process was fast. But after we sat down some of our orders never came. I had to show my receipt to prove I ordered another item. I’m ok to wait by the counter and take our items when they’re ready but when you’re told«we’ll bring it out to you» and then your orders missing stuff its annoying. Place looks clean and well maintained though just tge customer service is not good.
