Umm I liked this place for their well described menu and artsy wall décor. I liked wooden bistro seating and bar tables, it was relaxing to sip coffee over chat with work friends. I tried Café ’09 and white nachos and it was delicious. Café ’09 is made with Godiva, coffee, chocolate and liquor. I shall try Café Godiva the next time I visit. Not to forget they have big parking area behind and if you are really low on time they have 2 hours parking in the front too. I would have loved it even more if we were not constantly asked about how the food was and if we are done with the food. I mean I was still working on my nachos and the waiter was just not able to wait until I finish. They have great bar and there’s lot of things I want to try from their lunch and dinner menu. Overall very cool place and I will revisit!

I came here for lunch for the first time. Not a lot of wait staff, but service was decent and food came out quickly. I had the cranberry turkey sandwich, pozole, chips, and, cranberry lemonade. All were good. I especially liked the chips. Prices were kind of high I thought, for lunch but still within the relm of reasonable. I’d come back.

If you need a scaled down high quality option in the area you can’t go wrong with cappuccinos. Campus is fab but sometimes you need a beer and a sandwich. I love the layout and simple, sophisticated atmosphere. I am a local and highly recommend.

Everything is good to great. Casual atmosphere. But I’m hooked on the Pozole Verde soup.

The first time, we were aiming for this and wound up at Cappy’s next door instead. Big oops! Hurts the wallet and the pride. We were very happy to find that you can go in here in regular clothes for a regular work lunch ;) nice menu, nice prices, unique choices, coffee and real drinks. Bonus, I can eat here with my vegan friend. Will definitely be back!

This is an excellent laid back bar/restaurant perfect for lunch or a casual dinner. The menu is a little more simple than Cappy’s but the taste and quality are the same. There are only a few tables that seat more than two so may be a little harder for big groups. Prices are very reasonable as well. My favorites are the antelope burger, fish tacos, and southwest Cobb. I also love the Nutella crêpe and they make a mean mojito. One of my faves in San Antonio!

Lunch in the Alamo Heights area? This is always a top suggestion because of these three reasons: 1. Totally reasonable prices($ 10 – 15 range) 2. Booze and coffee available 3. Food is good with several vegetarian options My favorite thing on the menu is the veggie burger. It’s covered in sautéed mushrooms and you can get it with their house made chips — definitely choose those over the potato salad. Ask for a side of the tomatillo sauce or the creamy guac to lift the burger to another level. If you are imbibing, there is an extensive drink menu with lots of options. They also list their spirits and they have Blanton’s Bourbon(heeey girl heeeey!) The nonalcoholic drinks are great too, so everyone has options to enjoy!

Had lunch here and was very pleased with the food and the service. I had the antelope burger and it was cooked perfectly. My wife had the white nachos and man, they were good. Go, you won’t be disappointed

This is our first time back since the Cappy’s Fire and subsequent renovation of both restaurants. I really like Cappyccino’s. So much more than Cappy’s. Laid-back and friendly. The place looks pretty good. What did we eat? The husband had the antelope burger(again) and I went for the fish tacos. Both excellent. The fish tacos were a new item for me. Two tacos with fried fingerlings of drum with cabbage and white cheese in approximately 4 inch diameter corn tortillas. I went with the house salad as my side. At first glance I was thinking this is not enough food. I was wrong. The tortillas tend towards the thick side and are fresh off the grill. Delicious. Like my grandma used to make. Yum. The salad was mixed greens, cheese, tortilla strips and a dressing I can’t quite place. But tasty. Why not have dessert? Ok, I’ll have the rum-cajeta crêpe. It was covered in pecans and a tasty rum-caramel sauce. But not overly sweet. How did they do that? A terrific dining event. Our server was Peter, just the right amount of fussiness.

I could see this becoming a regular treat! I’ve only been here twice, but both times, all food items my friends & I ordered were a fantastic blend of familiar flavors with a unique kick. I’ve ordered the shrimp & spinach quesadilla, the grilled pimento cheese sandwich, and the pozole verde soup. I was impressed with all the food items, but the pozole verde has a flavor that will surely become a craving & the chips are delightfully sprinkled with sal con limon for an added tang.

You need a reservation for brunch and do not expect to find an Omelet station. You will find delicious mini scones and biscuits, strawberry butter and huge brunch selections. I would have rated 5, but I’ve had better brunches. Really a great place for a quick intimate type meal. I’m looking forward to eating here for lunch, sometime.

What a gem. The white nachos are amazing. The antelope burger is perfection. The service is top notch. The 3 pigs pizza — words cannot describe. And chocolate cake for dessert. I could eat here every night. Amazing!

Most of the food is pretty delicious. The meat is always cooked well, there is just the right amount of sauce to add zing but not so much that it drenches the food. They overdid the rosemary on the foccacia bread. After such a good meal, I was very underwhelmed by the black forest crêpe, which had a herseys-like chocolate syrup poured on top when it should have a higher quality chocolate on the inside of the crêpe. You couldn’t even taste the chocolate. The menu is priced just right, and the service is friendly. Overall, this is one of my favorite places in town, but I would skip dessert.

I’m happy I decided to stop here before going to Central Market. I was hesitant based on other reviews, but it was a wonderful experience. It’s a nice café, small menu. Our waiter seemed timid and short at first, but he warmed up to us and was very patient and helpful. I absolutely love their veggie burger. The bun was really delicious, and the sauteed peppers/onions on top were perfect. Even the cheese was perfect. Any ketchup or sauce would have spoiled the flavors. And oh my, the potato salad. I’m a freak about potato salad, and this is the best I’ve ever tried. It’s going to be hard eating any other. I’ll come back for dinner. There were a lot of items I’d love to try, like the nachos or shrimp quesadilla. They use poblano pepper in most of the recipes … I’m sold.

Love this spot for a Friday work lunch! They are friendly, fast, and the food is super yummy and very nicely priced for the quality. Think like $ 10 a plate. At lunch, you can enjoy delicious hot sandwiches, salads, and soups. They usually have a flat-bread pizza of the day and it will be enough to possibly split! My faves are the ham and cheese, any of their flat-breads(especially the fancy mushroom flat-bread) and their bisque style soups. All their food is so fresh and always prepared with unique twist or take on classic fare. Make sure you go to the right locations, not next door at Cappy’s or your wallet will hate you.

Cappyccino’s is the small, low key coffee bar/bistro that is just adjacent to the larger Cappy’s restaurant. While I have never been there for the bar services, my husband and I have gone for lunch with my grandmother on several occasions. As noted above, Cappyccino is a small space, but they’ve done a good job at keeping it from feeling crowded. The prices are moderate, but not excessive for the portion sizes. The few times we have gone we all have either had a soup/sandwich combo or burger. All off the offerings in these categories have been delivered quickly and made from very good quality food that tasted well worth the cost. While it is a bit of a drive for us now, we will hopefully get a chance to have lunch there again(or even try dinner) with my Grandmother and enjoy Cappyccino’s once more. I can definitely recommend it for a fast business lunch, however, since the staff is professional and speedy, the cost relatively good, and the food very good.

Absolutely terrific neighborhood bar with pub grub. Small friendly very helpful staff of charming folk. Bar drinks are first rate. This is not a place to go for the house exotic«lullu badullu» cocktail invented by the bartender last week. They stick to the standards — but the bar is solidly stocked, and execution is excellent. A plus that is especially helpful for a bar selling«standard repetoire» mixed drinks … a full printed multi-page menu of everything they can mix and everything the bar stocks. This is totally useful. Why doesn’t everyplace do this??? The food menu is small but high quality. A good selection of desserts for late night (plus the bar is open late to justify going there for desserts — a big positive in a town where off the Riverwalk they often roll up the sidewalks at 9 pm. It is tough to find snacks and dessert in San Antonio late at night.) and the desserts are interesting and solid.(they do a lot of crepes). there is a lively array of appetizers(good to have drinks with) — and a decent selection of burgers and sandwiches. i am a particular fan of their white chili(and they«chicken-based chili concoctions a number of ways). they also try to have something rotating and odd on the menu to keep interest.(recently it was a brie and peach sandwich). AND they keep the TV at one end of the restaurant … so you can have a classy place to dine and converse in the remaining 85% of the establishment. Overall — this is a superior version of a Chili’s style place with a smaller menu but better execution. It certainly has WAY more soul than Chili’s. Thumbs up.

This is a great spot for lunch or happy hour after work. They offer a smaller menu, but the offerings are pretty diverse. They have a wonderful turkey sandwich and their house made potato chips and homemade ranch dressing are to die for! They also have a wood burning oven and delicious sour dough pizzas. I have also had their Elk burger several times and it does not disappoint. They offer a full bar and made mean after dinner drinks. We love stopping in after a movie on a dare night for a quick drink without all the hassle of a traditional bar. There is ample seating and the ambiance it casual yet intimate. If you haven’t been here before, definitely check it out. You wont be disappointed.
