Coming from Houston… We decided to visit San Antonio. We pulled in because the hungriness got the best of us, but before going in we went onto Unilocal to read the reviews. There were a lot of mixed reviews so we decided to try it for ourselves. It was very busy. We had to wait about 15 – 20 minutes to be seated. I’ve never came to a Chinese buffet that had alcoholic beverages. I didn’t think the front desk was rude, just too busy to engage in conversation. The waitress was very polite and attentive. I do agree they do have a wide variety of food. I found the BBQ ribs and walnut shrimp to be very good. They also have steaks, if you like. The desserts are pretty sweet. I would ignore the bad reviews because if we had listen to them, we wouldn’t have gone in. Gotta try it for yourself!

Came here with my daughters today. First time a restaurant refused to honor my bariatric surgery card! Even spoken with the manager to no avail. Shame on them!

Great selection and food was hot. This buffet was very busy and service was great. Waiter was on point with the little things like drink refills with out asking and the extra napkins.

Ate here at the recommendation of hotel front desk, Large selection of foods and tastes. Quality is what you would expect from a buffet. Price was fair. Would I eat there again, sure. Will I rave about it… eh. Not that it really matters, don’t think I will ever be back in San Antonio TX again anyway.

Great Sushi and fresh food. It’s always busy so expect everything fresh. Ask for chopsticks … They don’t give them out without asking… Weird but true.

We came to San Antonio(from austin) for the day looking for Chinese buffet that we don’t eat on a regular basis and this was amazing! Even better than the places at home we’ve decided to make it a point to eat here once a month

I really had mixed feelings about this place. First off, I’ll give them props for having an unusual eclectic assortment of entrees that you typically don’t see at a Chinese buffet. Some notable mentions are: walnut shrimps, shrimp scampi, fried Oreo, flautas, mac and cheese, and baked potatoes. To be honest, I was quite amazed at the selections of food. It seems like the restaurant was trying to cater to American and Mexican cuisines on top of the usual Chinese fanfare. However, I think this is a perfect example of a «jack of all trades and master of none». Despite how good the food looked, they were all a bit underwhelming. I am well aware that this is a Chinese buffet, and I didn’t go in expecting high end cuisine. What disappointed me the most however, was the lack of consistency in seasoning. Some dishes were too sweet, others were too salty(most of the chicken dishes), and some were just way way too bland(I’m looking at you shrimp scampi, crawfish, butterfly shrimp). I felt like I was playing Russian roulette with my plate. I don’t know if the next bite will be sweet, tangy, salty, savory, or just nothing at all. On the plus side, the place is spacious, they serve a selection of margaritas, and a few of the dishes reminded me of my mom’s home cooking. The sauté shrimp in particular brought back some fond memories from my childhood. Never the less, I really did want to like Chopstick, but Chopstick just wasn’t for me. The restaurant caters to the large Hispanic population in San Antonio and this is reflected in their menu. I’m not saying this is a bad thing, just that it isn’t for me.

Food wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t the best. Customer service is not the worst either. … we won’t be coming back ever again, nor will we recommend it. They have fried oreos :) but the ice cream is grosse! You have to put your whole arm in there … I was going to get some them I noticed two young girls were getting some and putting they sweater sleeves over the ice cream :/nooooope We came here because we thought it was the same from the chopsticks in bulverde, boy were we wrong :/

Was def different. Was very crowded but drink service was quick & food was replenished at the buffet quite rapidly. That being said, I have never tasted Chinese food quite like what was being served. It looked like Chinese food but the Gen. Chicken wasn’t spicy & almost had a slight bbq flavor to it. The sesame chicken tasted like the Gen’s & I didn’t see any sesame seeds. Even the crab Rangoon tasted diff. Was disappointed that there was no coconut shrimp. All in all it was decent & hubby who doesn’t eat Chinese was very happy with the steak & Mac & cheese. I’m not from here & that was my first Chinese food experience since I’ve been here so it may be Tex-Chinese & that’s the norm…

Great for groups of which I arrived with. Here’s the short and sweet. This place does a volume business and good for th! 4 star for flavor. For a buffet they do a good job in comparison to similar styled buffers Houston. 3 star for long but well managed waits, they move a lot of people well. 2 star for cleanliness, and wear and tear of the facility… although the bathroom trash in the women’s facility… for a Sunday crush of business… is not as overflowing as last year. Good improvement.

This place is a weird chinese buffet. When I say weird, I mean it is weird in a good way. There’s some variety here and a little bit of everything. I like the guy frying the steaks there if you so desire to have that. They’re not going to be fancy grass fed Ruth’s Chris steaks, of course, but they’re passable and good. I like to get me the baked potato and trim it off with the steak. The chinese food is ok, but it is buffet quality and it passes. There’s fried fish and mac and cheese and stuff for kids along with other stuff. The salads are hit or miss. I also found the food to be good around lunch time, from 12 – 2 around that time it is better than most other times I have been here. It is definitely all you can eat and having a look around you won’t feel too guilty about that. This is one of many places in San Antonio where you will gorge yourself and not feel bad afterwards and feel skinny.

2.5÷5 *PARKING — Has a lot of available spaces to park to. We impulsively decided to have a buffet and they happened to be close by, parking space was accomodating. *PRICE — Price is cheaper compared to the average buffet places here in San Antonio. They do not offer military discount however. *STAFF — Felt split on this because the servers were nice but front desk are rude, no human interaction at all. *FOOD — Taste is correlative to the price, just forget about trying their dessert — appearance was meh and does not look appealing. The only go-to food here is their egg-drop soup, mongolian beef, fried rice, fried shrimp(wife’s choice) and fried chicken(my choice).

I think I have left one before, but I will again. TOnite was really busy tho. People we’re out the door when we showed around 5. We r just leaving and there r still people standing Oooo ut the door waiting to get in! The seafood doesn’t start until 4:30. The walnut and coconut shrimp r our favs! But everything else is delish also. I love sushi and they have a wide variety. They used to have fried cheesecake now its fried oreos! Man, I can go on all night about the selection. We love them. We come from across town just to eat there! If u haven’t tried them yet, please do! U won’t b disappointed.

First of all, the staff here at Chopsticks Chinese Restaurant are some of the rudest people that I’ve ever had the misfortune to meet. As my husband and I were walking inside, one of the cleaning ladies literally slammed the door in our faces. When I confronted her and asked her why she did that, she smirked and walked away. Then, I had the second misfortune of meeting the woman behind the counter who shouted«28 $»! at me and handed me two boxes. We decided to get a little bit of everything and I was so pleased to see that they had sushi. Well, what looked like sushi. You’d expect to see crab, salmon, celery, rice, avocado, right? What we got were four pieces of rice and cream cheese. No joke. The other sushi rolls were brown in color and were absolutely not fresh. What started out being a huge plus turned out to be a big disappointment. I was floored to see that they offered burritos, enchiladas, refried beans and rice at a Chinese buffet. I’m used to the occasional slice of pizza or chicken nuggets for the kiddos, but Mexican food? Really? No thanks. That would be like ordering seafood in Nebraska. You just don’t do it. The teriyaki chicken was quite tasty and I really enjoyed the salt and pepper shrimp but everything else that I tried was pretty horrible. The Mongolian chicken and beef had a weird red sauce on it that made it taste like Texas barbeque and the egg rolls definitely came straight out of the freezer. Nothing really stood out to me but I did enjoy the extremely large dessert area. My waistline didn’t, however. Overall, I probably won’t visit this location again. I can deal with the staff that has a horrible attitude but the unpalatable and rancid sushi, the bland and tasteless food and the overall cleanliness of the place will have me looking elsewhere.

Came here about 1:30pm for lunch. The food was hot and delicious. They have fried Oreos which are quite yummy!!! They waitstaff were very friendly and prompt. My glass was never less than halfway full due to the staff constantly checking to see if I needed anything. My main concern is there might have been a little too much msg in the chicken and rice. After eating 2 bites of the steamed rice I became really full. After eating one half filled plate I feel overly stuffed.
