We eat here regularly and have been satisfied each time. The beef soup is really flavored nicely without being too salty. We love the chicken moo shu here as it has the perfect wok flavor and the pancakes are thin. We’ve had some veggie plates too which are tasty. I’m not a fan of the tofu skins though, kinda chewy.

I’ve ordered Moon Bridge many times at work for my entire team and the food was originally fantastic. Unfortunately we are not sure what happened but the food quality started to become very inconsistent and sometimes outright bad. We’ve since torn up our menus and have scouted out new Chinese restaurants for delivery since our last 5 orders from Moon Bridge have been either wrong, or the food absolutely horrible.

I wasn’t expecting too much on my visit here tonight after reading all the reviews but I thought«Why not since I’m at San Mateo» So I gave it a try with my family. It turned out way better than I expected! We ordered 6 dishes with 1 soup &1 fried rice. We ordered — Pumpkin Spareribs clay pot from the specials menu and it was our favorite! my family finished every piece and even used the sauce for our plain rice. Yummy! Our Dried Scallop with fish maw soup was delicious too! Very large proportion. We also tried the string beans, beef fried rice, twice cooked pork, and a chicken dish from the specials menu. Overall, We loved our food and the server was really attentive. He have 4 other table to serve but he made sure he come by to check if we need anything very frequently. I’ll definitely come back to give it another try so I can update this review. The 1 star I didn’t give was because I’m not a big fan of their chairs. Bamboo chairs I’m just not a big fan of.

Nothing special here, even the authentic dishes were okay. Last time I tried the Hong Kong noodles, they were way to crispy, and drenched in oil. It’s okay to go here for lunch, since parking is abundant.

I call this place a lot for lunch delivery and they have really decent food. My favorite is the lamb steak, which is actually an order of like 4 lamb chops that are prepared perfectly! Also love the beef chow fun. I’ve never actually been to the restaurant but if I lived over here I probably would! Great lunch and super quick delivery!

Introduced to this place by receiving several fliers in the mail. Thought to try it, its menu had great colored pictures of their foods and good selection of choices. Visited a few times now and we enjoy the food. Tried Kung Pao Prawns, House Chowmein, Egg Rolls, Pot Stickers, House Soup… so far has been our favorite. I’ve «table gazed» and seen other tables ordering clay pot dishes, curious to try. They have a $ 4.75 lunch plate special, good deal! Décor is not your typical Chinese restaurant, bamboo rattan chairs and hardwood floors and walls, but service is always good. We’ve gotten to know our server well. They offer free take out, I think they are very popular with take out than eat in.

This was my first time visiting here today, I usually got the taste of this place from leftovers from my fiancees lunches. The place is well lit, with bamboo chairs. Its very fresh and relaxing inside. There were 2 other tables when I got in, not a busy place for a Saturday. The service we received was great, he was very prompt with our orders, and the service was quick. We ordered 2 lunch rice plates: Mangolian Beef with Fried Rice & Curry over Steam Rice Both plates came with a soup. It was Carrot soup with beef and Potatoe. I thought I wouldn’t like the soup because I am not a carrot soup fan, but this tasted and looked different from your average carrot soup. It had chunks of potatoes and beef. Very tasty. I was suprised when the waiter asked if we wanted seconds. No other restaurants are that generous. I am prolly the first to review this palce a 5 compared to the other reviews, but my experience was great. The price was very cheap with very very big serving. This won’t be my last time I come here for sure…

I got 5 fliers from this place in like 2 weeks. Ridiculous. They must be desperate for customers. The fliers come in color and have some real small looking photos of their food. 1 star for flier presentation. The prices for food here is kinda pricey. It’s odd that this place serves miso soup. That’s right, miso soup, but without the little tofu cubes. My friend ordered it, it tasted alright. The first time I came here, it was with a friend. We order the Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings, Steamed oysters in black bean sauce and a Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce. Don’t forget the white rice. That’s a meal for two. Total cost? About $ 35 because of the Seafood. The second time I came here, it was after working out at the gym. I think my friend liked this place, so instead we ordered the Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings, West Lake Minced Beef soup, Chinese greens with garlic in supreme broth(its just chicken stock) and fried milk. Total cost? $ 39. This time, we’re Unilocaling it. The first time, it was testing the water for this place. We ordered the«can’t go wrong» Chinese menu. Honestly, the oysters didn’t taste all fresh. i had to add some soy sauce to it. Minus one star. The 2nd time, the West Lake soup was not piping hot when served to us. It seemed like they microwaved it along with the Chinese Greens in soup stock. Secondly, fried milk is not made of fat free milk, egg yolks, cinnamon, white sugar and vanilla. It’s made of sweet milk, rock sugar, egg whites and sifted rice flour. Moon Bridge’s «fried milk» tasted like a twinkie with cinnamon and without the cream filling. If you plan to come here and hope to order something like Tsing Tao beer, well they don’t even carry it. They have cheap Budweiser Lite though! =T Lastly.the floors are STICKY. It felt like I was a fly walking on a fly trap. It took the servers 8 minutes to refill our tea pot. The tea isn’t all that hot either. C’mon! its a Friday night, there’s only 4 patrons and it takes you so long to notice a tea pot sitting there waiting to be refilled?! After this second time, I think that’ll be it for me. I’ve had tastier. Also, this place wasn’t packed at like 6pm. It seemed like a ghost town, and on a Friday night too!

Worse than any typical chinese restaurant. For 3 ppl, we ordered oysters, lamb clay pot, chicken clay pot, and half a chicken w/ginger. Then, my mother asks the waiter if he had any suggestions for what else was good and he’s like you want more food??? you ordered too much food already… what kinda of service is that? maybe we were really hungry. none of his business how much we can eat. And it turns out that it wasn’t even as much food as he made it seem. the lamb clay pot was small and consisted mostly of large bones. Chicken — dried, overcooked chicken &mushroom clay pot was all shreds of white meat. chinese ppl dont like white meat! considering it was $ 22, can they be a little more generous w/the meat!?! anddd they forgot the mushroom in our chicken and MUSHROOM clay pot. Dont order the abolone, its hard and dry. i took one bite and gave up. they have quite a few workers but they seem to be all sooooo busy with their 5 med to large tables. like taking a total of 20 minutes for my soda and constant reminder that im still waiting for it! At one point my mother waved an lady down and she stopped at our table but her eyes were focused on other things and she didn’t have a happy expression on her face so my mom told her, you look busy, maybe i’ll just ask another waiter/waitress and the lady just turns around and attend to her other chores. wth??? my conclusion: TOTALWASTEOFTIME.

This place really makes me miss LUCKYPOT! We have been getting barraged with fliers and menus for this«Moon Bridge» Chinese and they deliver, so one night when the take-out from BJ’s was 1 hour and I just didn’t feel like sushi. again, I decided to give Moon Bridge a try. MISTAKE. The delivery speed was«average»(about 40 minutes) and the food was hot when it arrived. We sooo wanted to like this place. Since Lucky Pot left, we have not had much Chinese and when the craving strikes, it would be nice to have a place nearby. We tried their«fried milk» and«sauteed crab meat with Chinese greens» and both were absolutely awful. The fried milk was mostly cooked egg whites and was totally bland. The greens in the crab dish were so bitter they were inedible. The only dish we tried that was worth a damn was the salt and pepper chicken wings, which were a bit on the salty side and did not have much meat on them(no drumettes, just the wing tips and winglettes). We also tried their sautéed lamb with XO sauce. I think it was beef. It had no flavor and was a major disapointment(like the rest of the meal). So sad. it is too bad there is not a place as good as Tao Tao Café or Hot Wok. two of our favorites. Is there a place on the Peninsula that can hold a candle to Tao Tao beef?

Friend and I are disappointed. We get this nice colored paper menu at work. It seems somebody dropped it off for a little publicity. The prices for the Rice plates looked very reasonable so we decide to go there for a low cost lunch. We get the menus and they aren’t the same prices, suddenly not so reasonable. I just checked their website and the prices there don’t match either the menu I have in my hand or the one they hand you. Food is OK. Not great, not good, just OK. Also parking is a pain. There are only 2 spots and one of them is handicapped. Where do you people park?

Moon Bridge was one of many Chinese restaurants I’ve tried in the Bay Area. I’ve found that most Chinese restaurants are heavy on salt and oil, which isnt bad if you’re in the mood for that, but doesnt make for great authentic Chinese food. That, or they have a stock sauce that they use with 90% of their dishes. That said, Moon Bridge is a fantastic restaurant– the vegetables were tender, fresh, and well cooked. All the dishes I’ve had there had their own distinct flavor and werent drowned in that typical chinese brown sauce. I’ve had the chinese broccoli, lamb stew claypot, and sauteed fish filet. All were cooked well, lightly flavored, and were not too oily or salty. I really enjoyed eating at this restaurant, and if you want authentic chinese food, you should come here. If that isnt enough to convince you, the last telltale sign that this is a good restaurant is that there were many older generation Chinese people in the restaurant, which is the ultimate test. This place is legit. I’m looking forward to going back and will be highly recommending this to all my friends who seek affordable, authentic Chinese food– not the Americanized stuff. If you’re in the market for Americanized Chinese, you already got Panda Express; have fun there.

I just had the salt and pepper chicken wings and a side of rice, it was excellent! They say 8, but I got 12 huge crunchy chicken wings with jalapenos, green onions and fried garlic on them, very delicious! I ordered for pick up since I work around the corner. The restaurant is very clean, open, the aromas of the food cooking are swirling in the air, the people are nice and there are large chairs and tables. They even have the hot sauce i like, sri racha or whatever its called. I will definately be going back again. I like that they have Clay Pots on the menu. When you go to their website there are coupons and pics of their food, as well as online ordering.

To say I was shocked is a definite understatement. Went today(Mother’s day 2009). Restaurant only had one table occupied by(seemingly) the owner’s family and friends. 6 – 7 people in the total restaurant. That was not the issue. 1) With virtually no one else needing to be served, service was non-existent. Both wait staff stood around talking and bypassing the only other customers in the whole restaurant. The two of us. 2) Hot and Sour soup was the WORST(obviously water based vs. soup stock based) mess I have ever eaten at ANY chinese restaurant. 3) Had to get up to ask for salt, pepper, soy sauce to flavor the soup. (I knew I was in trouble then.) 4) Lunch consisted of very salty Black bean spareribs(which is salty to begin with but this bordered on inedible) and NOFLAVOR believe it or not. This was followed by greasy NOFLAVORBBQ Pork fried rice.(Hence the need for salt and pepper.) The only thing that was excellent was the perfectly cooked white rice that came with the inedible ribs. THEREISMORE… the salt shaker that I received contained SUGAR!!! Needless to say the rest of this tasteless food was now SWEET! Not only would I NEVERRETURN but I will inform as many people as I can of the DISASTER of a meal and wasted money that occurred. There is NOTHING representing a restaurant here. DON’T BOTHER. Or if you feel that this review is bogus, try it and remember to think I tried to tell you so before you went.

Moon Bridge is a new addition to downtown San Bruno… well, sort of. It’s been open since October or November 2008, but is unbeknownst to many still. It’s a decent Cantonese restaurant — ideal for a casual dinner out or to order take out. There are some hit or misses with the food. While their signature dish is the salt-baked chicken, we were totally disappointed because it seems like they took the term«salt» too seriously. The chicken was way too salty. But their recommended grilled lamb chop dish was a winner — bursting with juice and great flavor. Their clay pot rice, another supposed signature dish, was forgettable. But every stir-fried dish we ordered embodied lots of «wok air,» which is so important in Chinese cooking. The restaurant has been remodeled and updated, definitely looking more refreshing than their nearby counterparts. However, I just can’t get over the humongous wicker chairs that serve as dining chairs. They have got to be the most uncomfortable and space-consuming chairs ever. And don’t say I didn’t warn you about the server with the vampire fangs! He’s a friendly man and all, but his ghastly dental hygiene is quite unappetizing…

We were gonna go to Ming’s on San Mateo Dr in San Bruno for our Sunday dinner but my father in law suggested this Moon Bridge… It was party of 7 we ordered set meal and addition 3 other dishes and only the soup, salted chicken was just OK but the rest was just horrible that included the services. We didn’t order the FROG and it came to our table and they just add it on to our bill because I took a bite ha ha ha lucky I caught it before they cheat us. I bet you, this place gonna close in 3 months

This is where spent my thanksgiving dinner with my family. Usually we have a huge party at our house, but due to family reasons we decided not to hold one. As the big baller I am, i decided to pay for the bill… hehe I’m such a great son and brother! Pretty much a typical Chinese restaurant serving up ordinary Chinese Fare. Supposedly Moon Bridge Restaurant is well known for their clay pot rice and Salted Baked Chicken, but i wasn’t too impressed. Maybe i was just a bit overly excited for clay pot rice, because i love clay pot rice, especially with the preserved duck and Chinese Sausage. Thats the best one! Their clay pot rice wasn’t as good as the one at Capital in Chinatown… their wasn’t enough burnt rice at the bottom. The salted baked chicken was very salty. I know its called salted baked chicken, but damn how much salt do you have to put? Non the less the chicken was very moist. Everything else was pretty good and decent. The lamp chops, the oysters(Which were supposedly freshly caught in the morning the owner himself, which i highly doubt! That’s what he told us) The Vegetables were really fresh, used very little oil, and still had a nice snap to it! I’d definitely come back. i forgot to mention, the seats they seat you in are huge lounge chairs made of wood. Which makes dining some what comfortable experience.

Ok, so I live near Moon Bridge, and must admit I was cautiously optimistic when this new restaurant opened. I am a firm believer in supporting your community with your dollars, so I gathered a few people and ventured over on a Sunday afternoon. Like the other reviewers have said, the décor inside is pleasant, but the wicker chairs were pretty uncomfortable and strangely sized for dining. We wanted to sit by the window, but the waiter insisted that we sit by the dimly lit side wall instead. Reviewing the menu, it seemed to be the usual Chinese fare, yet lacked some simple favorites. We ordered the following: 1. Crab soup 2. Some sort of mixed vegetable chow meain 3. The house special salted chicken(because the waiter insisted we MUST try it) The soup was incredibly bland, and require obscene amounts of salt and white pepper. The chow mein was probably the best of the three entrees, and that’s only by elimination. The vegetables were few and far between, and the noodles tasted like a large version of instant ramen. The real killer was the house special salted chicken. Maybe I am biased because when I think house special chicken, I think of the delicious one offered down the road at Vietnam Village in Bayhill — but seriously I tried to be objective here. This was the worst chicken ever. REALLY. It was pale, tough, rubbery and about as salty as the ocean. I am not even kidding. Everyone at the table was shocked, and made an honest effort to eat it, but in the end we couldn’t finish it, couldn’t bring ourselves to take the excess to go. I feel bad for this restaurant, as the owners seemed very friendly and hard-working. The food is horrendous, though! I would love to see Moon Bridge become a thriving eatery in my neighborhood, but especially in these tough times, I think the food quality and taste is going to have to really improve to make that a reality.

I question the previous review: brand new Unilocal user on brand new Chinese restaurant with a review that reads more like an advertisement than a true critique.(Updated 11÷1÷08: So it looks like the first review of Moon Bridge was yanked… guess it was a phony. Which means, by default, I am the first to review. Booyakah!)(Updated 12÷16÷08: So I am no longer the 1st reviewer or Moon Bridge. The 1st review was«revised» to look like an actual review — Changed the rating to 4-stars instead of 5-stars, removed the 10% Grand Opening Special advertisement. Boo.) Anyways, Moon Bridge is a new restaurant in San Bruno. Food is typical Chinese restaurant food, but still pretty good — the beef-infused white rice dish was a nice touch. Service was fast and somewhat friendly. Prices were moderate. The one thing I found odd, though, were the chairs. Nice large wicker chairs did not make for the most comfortable dining position. If you’re in the area, come on by. Be sure to take advantage of the Grand Opening special! :)
