Burger Stop

This stop has always been a staple in San Clemente since I’ve moved here. Don’t let the building scare you off that’s the only reason for the 4 star (they need to paint and renovate for sure). They have amazing food at a great price. The burgers are great with good flavor and the fired zucchini is wonderful. They have many options and I’ve haven’t been disappointed yet.

I wish someone could have recorded me yesterday trying to go to this burger joint. I walked around the San Clemente «Outlets» and Unilocaled somewhere to go for lunch. Mmmmmmmm, a burger sounds good and it has great reviews.
There is construction all over the place so if you blink or arent in the right lane, you may miss this place. Also, there are two parking spots for this joint… so, good luck. There is a drive thru, but I dont live local so where would I eat my food? I literally drove around for a half hour trying to go get a burger here. Insane? Ive been called worse.
I tried two other places… one was closed and one, I didnt want to go to. So I drove literally in circles for about a half hour praying, wishing, screaming… for a spot to open up. Heres the thing, on top of the two parking spots, are two handicapped spots as well. I have a plaque, however I do not use it if I am not in pain and yesterday, I was not in pain.
U-​turn after almost impossible turning into the mail drop off driveway u-​turn… I finally gave up again and headed back to the outlets for Blaze Pizza. That place was INSANE so I said ok thats it, I try Burger Stop once more otherwise I get on the freeway and go home.
The clouds cleared, the birds sang, and BOTH parking spots were open! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh! Im getting my burger!!!
The next major life decision was chili fries or onion rings. I went with the onion rings, I was so exhausted by this point it didnt matter.
I have to say, all of the driving was worth it for the burger. It was an old school burger that was DELICIOUS! A rare wind storm kicked up just as I got out of my car, and blew my hair all over the place while I sat there and ate, but it was all still worth it. I am guessing this place does most of their business in their drive thru, as its a little tiny shack looking place with a total of 6 tables outside… which unless they get foot traffic, there will always be a place to sit with the limited parking spots. This is literally right at the freeway so I dont imagine they get a lot of foot traffic.

Super friendly staff. I just went for a milkshake but it was seriously one of the best milkshakes I have ever had. I will definitely be going back for more!

We got a double cheese burger with bacon, a regular double cheese burger, chili cheese fries, regular fries, and a vanilla milk shake. The burger was soooooo juicy I had flavor running down my forearm. The chili cheese fries were good not the best ever but they weren’t bad. And lastly the milkshake was so freaking awesome. This will now be me and my girls new burger stop for now on

I was actually pleasantly surprised when I had their burger. I wasn’t expecting much. The place looked old, no one really there. I hadn’t tried it before and I love trying new food. So I said what the heck And tried it. The burger was really good! It was a great ‘stop’ haha.

Wanted fries and a shake ao decided to try out burger stop as i have driven by many times, Im sure glad I did my fries were delicious i also tried the tacos and they were quality and very yummy customer service was good so over all i will for sure be going back

Okay, I was looking over some of the reviews and after having ate their, can’t believe how high the rating was. Looks like the perfect type of ‘hole-​in-​the-​wall’ that makes the perfect juicy burger, but it couldn’t be further from the truth. Ordered a double burger, fries and the zucchini sticks as it looked so good on Unilocal reviews. Fries weren’t very good at all. Could tell they were from a frozen bag of pre-​cut fries. The geese they used must have been old as I still feel the freeze in my stomach several hours later. Zucchini sticks were average to below average at best. The burgers were very average at best. I think I would have enjoyed a Carl’s Jr. or something and it would have been cheaper too. Absolutely do not recommend this place.

Good juicy burger and amazing onion rings. I ordered a double cheeseburger and it was made to order and very fresh. This was my first time here, and I can’t believe I waited years to try it. There’s actually a drive through so try it out before you hit the road.

In a word amazing. Burger Stop is absolutely fantastic. It is one of my favorite little hole in the wall burger places in all of Orange County. The way they treat you every time you drive up to the fast food counter is simply like family. I moved to San Clemente about a year a go and I used to just crave a good burger but everything down here was either a traditional fast food joint that is the same olé same olé or just Mexican food, don’t get me wrong I love Mexican food, but when you are craving a burger you just need a
At first I saw Burger Stop and felt a little uneasy about going there. You see it isn’t the prettiest burger place in the world with its old a little run down red and white façade it doesn’t stand out like the traditional burger places. But I figured what the heck might as well try it out. So I did and my goodness I’m glad that I did, the burger and fries are just amazing, they melt in your mouth. The fries are the right amount of crunchy and the double bacon cheeseburger that I ordered had that good mixture of salty crunchy bacon and melt in your mouth medium ground beef patty with cheddar cheese yum!
I highly recommend this spot on your way to or from the San Clemente beaches you definitely will be missing out if you don’t make this a regular stopping grounds. In addition to there amazing burgers and fries they serve breakfast burritos which are out of this world, fried zucchini and onion rings and to top it off you cant have a hole in the wall burger spot with out milk shakes. We just stopped by for a quick burger. Don’t believe for negative comments! Two nice ladies are running this place and they make ‘woow man that is burger! Parking is kinda weird but there is a gas station next door. Try the double burgers and onion rings for a few bucks.

This hole in the wall burger joint is at a very convenient location for people traveling. It’s right across from a Chevron gas station (a couple other gas stations nearby as well) and is right off the freeway! It looks pretty run down from the outside and there is no indoor seating but there is a little patio with picnic tables right out front. Also, they have a drive thru incase you’re looking to order and go. The ladies working were very sweet, and the food was good. My husband got a double hamburger– he said it was similar to in-​n-​out. The fries had a similar taste to Burger King fries, also good We didn’t care for the onion rings, they were not light and crispy– they were too tough.

YUMMY BuRGER JOINT! Four burgers, four sodas rings and fries for $ 30! Can’t beat the taste and quality for the money! Piping hot fries and rings, fresh lettuce and tomato on burgers and the Ortega burger was decadent!
The patio out front was clean and roomy for our family!

Order came to 19.62 for bad food. The outside looks run down and the inside the burger stop is even worse. Flies flying around the food and the two women who prepare the food were just chit chatting in the back while we were waiting at the window for them to come assist us. One of them was turned to my husband and I, she couldn’t stop talking to help. She just kept on with her conversation with the other worker, until I said are you open or closed. Don’t know how this place is open. Maybe people who eat here their taste buds are shot. We always drive by this place and said we’ll stop and try it. We wish we didn’t. Never again. I wish we could get a refund but knowing this place they wouldn’t.

Burger stand classic! In my top 5 burgers chile Ortega burger is pushing the boundaries on your typical fixins… The blend and of the chile is no heat but a level of flavor that will have you wondering where mr Ortega pepper has been all your life… the chili is outstanding in the vein of pinks but not as greasy

Everything you want in a joint called burger stop. They are nice to you when you order, they make the food in a timely manner. The burgers are thin but flavorful.
If you’re looking for the tasty stuff from the frier (fries, onion rings, zucchini) they have great big portions and good ranch for dipping.
The shakes are bomb! Thick and creamy… The straws are kinda small for the shakes, but that’s a personal preference.
And as much as I like the burgers… I think the burritos are so much better! The carne asada has a little heat to it, and it’s big enough to fill a man’s appetite.
Just know you’re going to drop a few bucks and gain a few pounds here, but so Worth IT!
