Be careful with this club. There are a lot of rumors about the bouncers there being extremely violent. Last week a young man by the name of Conner Kepple was killed, and his friends say that he was killed at this club. Read the article for more information. These people are animals, and have no respect for their clients.

NEVERGOTHERE. The bouncers MURDERED my best friend conner kepple. after a confortation, insted of restraing conner and escorting him out peacefully, bouncers decided to ruthlessly beat him up. After multiple surguries days later he passed away on his 21st birthday. The venue shouldnt even be alllowed to be in business. Please dont support this venue because you never know you might be the bassmnt’s next murder victim. I love you conner. By the way i had to choose a star to continue

The bouncers in this club are savages. I went down to fix my shoes and the small brain bouncer that stood on the side of the stage comes and pushes me on the floor accusing of sitting on the ledge. This CLUB is not welcoming. Look at the reviewer below. His friend got killed from these bouncers kicking him around. Ruthless. Seriously, if your considering this place. Turn back around and go to Omnia or something else. Somewhere classier where you be treated like an actual human being.

Horrible club. Bouncers were rude and music sucked. Inside was dirty and the drinks were awful. Would not recommend to anyone.

Horrible night club, bouncers only care about money… would not recommend if you are trying to have a good time in downtown San Diego… inside was disgusting! Also they changed it to 18+ which is crazy! Who wants to be partying with 18 year olds? No one! Good luck!

This place used to be my favorite club in San Diego and now it’s 18 and older… Are you serious?! You have parts sectioned off and we can’t even bring drinks into the sections where the music is? People are so disrespectful now, bumping into t and knocking over drinks and ice, running into everyone and they’re all messed up… It’s sucks! All of the bartenders hate how it’s 18 and up now. Please change this!!! I don’t care how much money you make on these little high schoolers, it’s disgusting and it’s not a classy club ATALL. It’s garbage. Definitely will never bring my crew of 20 ever again who always gets a table here. Fix it.

Easily one of the worst clubs in San Diego. I’ve gone several times and have had bad experiences but kept giving them more chances. Recently, my organization had an event in which we rented out the venue and I can now say with confidence that this club sucks. Beyond the fact that it is very small and not set up well there are also only a handful of small lights in the entire club. I could open up a club in the basement of my house and buy a few hundred dollars worth of lights and it would be better than this dump. In addition to very poor setup they also have young, rude, incompetent employees who just aren’t on the same tier as others in the area. In summation, if you are looking for a place to go out or a venue to rent for an event STAYFARAWAYFROMBASSMNT. I can almost guarantee that you will have a better experience at pretty much any other club.

I have to say, and I never really like to bad mouth establishments, but Bassmnt is the worst club I have ever been to. Not only is the service quality equivalent to that of a Texaco gas station in New Mexico, but the quality from the moment I walked in has been DISMAL. I was disrespected from the moment I tried to order a beverage to the moment I was unofficially shoved out the door. This club had no real appeal to begin with and the poor music quality and service only downgraded from there. I will NEVER be returning and hope this club is replaced by the quality that downtown deserves.

Worst service I’ve ever received. I would never come here for any sort of venue, and specifically never deal with our rep(Brianna Messner) ever again. She has absolutely no idea what she is doing, and failed to mention many things in our contract. We were scammed of $ 4,000 and they refused any sort of refund. NEVERCOMEHERE. Not worth your time. So many other decent clubs in downtown San Diego. I hope they fail for their cruel tactics. Place is trash.

THISPLACELETSTHEIRGUESTSGETSEXUALLYASSAULTED! Last Friday night, February 19th, my friend was sexually assaulted at this club. We walk up to two female bouncers at the front of the club to let them know what happened. As we were talking to them, the guy comes walking out right at us and we point towards him clearly showing the bouncers that he was the guy who assaulted her. He walks towards us, SLAPS my friend on the butt, and keeps walking and laughing. At this point my friend is crying and asking the bouncers why they didn’t do anything and they kept saying«They will get him in the front». Well we followed him around the corner and watched him walk right past the front with no one approaching him. STAYAWAYFROMTHISPLACE!!! Their security is useless and lets girls get assaulted! Don’t worry Bassmnt, a lawsuit will be coming from my friend. :)

Used to be fun to go here until management changed & big name DJ’s that once played at Bassmnt stopped playing there. Now, I’ve noticed most DJ’s that once played here are now playing at Omnia down the street. I’d love to go Bassmnt, but they don’t have DJ’s I’d really love to see there as often anymore. That sucks cause it has the best stage for an up close interaction. This is where I met Snails, EDX, Bingo Players, Lil Jon, & Kill The Noise.

Honestly such an awful scene. Ugly people everywhere. If you arnt from California the security guards treat you like crap. Super hot temperature without the babes to make up for it. Will not go back. Raged much fatter at Bang Bang and Fluxx

From 5 stars to 1 star. I used to love bassmnt but it’s changed. They now are an 18+ club. If I wanted to party with 18 year olds, I would’ve gone to a hookah lounge. Their new motto«downtowns only 18+ club» …wow congratulations go you! Last time I was there I «won» a free table from an Instagram contest. A cool way to market, but how about don’t sell the table to someone else a few hours in? They made us move twice. Until we no longer had a table. If you’re gonna do something nice for your loyal club goers, and then take it away when it comes to money, then I don’t want to attend anyway. The staff is extremely rude here as well. The girls used to be very sweet to myself and all of my friends but I’m not sure what happened. Like I said I used to love this place. It was my go to. My favorite. Now I will stick to fluxx.

I would have to agree with the recent Unilocal, this place USED to be the spot, it just isn’t the same anymore. Love some of the old staff that isn’t there anymore! The 18+ thing was a pretty bad move and the talent is terrible now. Going to this place just reminds me how much it USED to be. Bottle service girls are rude and security does think they are secret service! RIP old Bassmnt!

Terrible sound quality at this club. Expect to get tinnitus the next day if you’re on the dance floor. Also, don’t ever give your phone number out when you’re in line. They will never stop texting you about upcoming artists, even when you reply«stop» to unsubscribe. My friends and I are still dealing with this. I’m ready to file a complaint.

Went last night since it reopened. I liked the layout and dance floors. What is new is the club is 18 and up. There is a designated section for those only 21 and and older, and another section for those who are not 21. Of course, if you’re 21, you can move freely around the club. Why 2 stars? They ONLY offer free water if you are 21 and over. You must buy a very small 3 dollar bottle of water. I’m 24, and so I’ve been to my fair share of festivals and clubs, especially where its 18 and up. Never have I been to a place that doesn’t offer free water. Ever! I think its an extremely dangerous, inconsiderate and stupid move from this establishment for obvious reasons.

I actually really like it here. Yeah, there’s the usual club scene, but as it goes it’s not the worst. I haven’t had a problem with theft, but I believe it prolly happens everywhere. There are a ton of security with flashlight though. And the girls all wear fishnets and panties with bra things. Lol. It’s hot(albeit terribly sad and objectifying). I would come here more if the dudes were also as scantily clad and ripped. Unfortunately most of the dudes were short or fat or terribly ugly. But it’s a cool club and the cover is reasonable if you get flagged down by one of their scouts on the corners. Otherwise I think it’s 20 minimum at all times. There’s a main stage, a smaller weird stage near a bar and a smaller bar. So it’s not huge but it’s okay. I like it.

This place is awesome, for the most part. Definitely for the younger crowd. I came with some friends that were comped a few tables for the DJ Mustard event they had last week. The service was great, music was good, drinks were legit. A little pricey for my taste. They were charging $ 40 at the door, if you get on the guest list you’ll get a discount. So do that. The price was definitely because of DJ Mustard, but the seem to have line ups every thurs, fri, sat. So be warned. I heard there was a pre-sale look it up. I hardly spent a dime so it was fine by me, my suggestion is for you all. Drinks were $ 11 a pop. The venue itself is really nice, modern, with maybe ¾ bars. One of which is huge, like really huge. Bartenders we’re good at taking care of everybody though. The place is in a basement, hence the name and get really hot, despite their AC, which is definitely on, but with 1000 people dancing, it feels like there is 1000 people dancing. There were long lines for the bathroom, both men’s and women’s. Both bathrooms have attendants stocked up on smell good, gum, smokes, and clear eyes. Their smoking area is ridiculously small. During the course of the night, I saw a woman spit all of the dance floor and proclaim she was going to throw up, but kept dancing. Some dude drop his corona, they cleaned it up quick. Security carried more than a few people out for being wasted, starting problems. The staff did a great job of trying to keep things under control but there’s just too many people. Did I mention it’s for the younger crowd? If it wasn’t free I definitely wouldn’t of gone, DJ Mustard or not. –1 for pricing –1 for rachetness

I came here to see dj mustard perform on a Friday night. I’m giving this place 1 star because when I come to see a trap dj, I expect nothing but that. I did not come to this club to hear edm/radio music. The experience: before getting bottle service I was front row near the DJ at the main stage. There was a basket right next to the dj stage where people put their drinks. Somebody moved that tray and huge ass cockroaches started swarming out! The security guard standing right above us, saw us screaming, he looked at the roaches and laughed. My friends were takin pics for snapchat. Me on the other hand… Is for Unilocal. This is not acceptable. My friends decided to get bottle service for $ 900 because they could not handle being close to cockroaches & wanted a good view. First of all, if were paying good money I expect that the security guards manage who is allowed in and out. Random people were coming in and out. It was way too packed. And there was plenty security guards standing around. And as for DJMUSTARD. He came and performed at 1:30, the last 30 mins of the night. I feel soo ripped off that I payed for a ticket at bassmnt to watch him perform for 30 mins and for him to not perform his trap music. He was playing edm/radio music. He represented like a basic DJ. Nothing special. Overall a disappointing night. NEVERCOMINGBACK!

I came here to see ATB with my friends. I came here once when I was 18, and they were primarily a hip hop club. The venue is quite small, but I do like that they have 2 rooms, a larger room for their main attraction, and a smaller room in the back for hip hop. ATB was freaking amazing, and I am only giving this place 4 stars because they were smart enough to book him, the light show that they had was sooo good, and I also loved the steam effects, and the confetti that they had coming from the ceiling. I actually don’t mind that this venue is smaller because you can get soo much closer to the stage that way, they also let some people stay behind to take pics with the DJ, which was super awesome and I wish that I had stayed for that. The club wasn’t that packed but it did get pretty packed close to the stage, I found hard copy tickets easily for $ 20, so didn’t have to pay the stupid«processing» fees that they always ask for online. Anyways, if you are looking for a smaller more intimate venue in which to see your favorite DJ perform I would suggest coming here, I like this location alot more than fluxx because they also play hip hop, and have more areas for people to sit.
