I gave it a two star because they do bring good bands… BUTISITWORTHIT??? your like sardinas en una lata, Sardines in a can… like my mom used to say… We paid $ 50.00 for a bottle of barcardi and it was’t bacardi, the bottle was open somewhere else, make sure you tell them DONOTOPENTHEBOTTLE, if it’s open refuse it… Oh and by the way it smells so make sure you pile on the perfume or the cologne… GOODLUCK !!!

This place needs to find a different DJ. His mix selection is horrible. The music he plays before the dancing starts is much better than what he plays at 10:00. However, owner sees the place pack and that’s all he cares about, I understand it’s a business. This place could be a class club if ownership pays attention to details. This is the lesson learned after spending 25 years managing clubs in Las Vegas…

This is a really random bar/club at the end of a shopping center. There’s a huge Samoan bouncer to greet you, then you walk into the top floor where there’s tables and the bathroom. The dance floor doesn’t get crowded until 11pm, but there’s free entrance until 10pm. They play Cumbia, bachata and salsa on Friday nights. Cheap drinks($ 8 for a run and coke), friendly people and a patio area.

Every club outta’ be ran like this one, top notch in all respects. No security issue’s, excellent staff, outstanding music and artists. The losers who give it poor reviews are exactly that,…losers that belong in Nasty City.

Blue agave is definitely a good place to go if you’re in the dancing mood. At one point I would go every other weekend,& now, that has highly diminished. They open around 8:30 and cover is free before 10, otherwise you pay $ 10 unless its a concert night. In that case, cover prices differ. This a club/bar that is open Thursday– Sunday. They have a DJ& mainly play Spanish music including: cumbia, salsa, merengue, bachata, and rock en español. Their music schedule changes depending on the day. Take note of the following. –Fridays are bachata night with some karaōke– for this reason i do not go this day. A bunch of drunk people get up on stage and attempt to sing their little hearts out. This will go on for a while. –Saturday: The place is pretty empty up until 10:30, this is when the crowd usually starts arriving. This day, there will usually be Cumbia playing most of the night, followed by merengue and bachata. The night always ends with Spanish rock. –Sunday: Banda night. That’s all there is to say, self explanatory. As a disclaimer: 99% of people that go here are Hispanic. If you are a wall flower do yourself a favor and skip because the dance floor is not too big. The bar has cheaper drinks than many other clubs. They have tables inside and a pool table near entrance. They also have a patio with tables and chairs, which is nice. They have hookah outside too. They use to have a taco lady in their patio but that’s been out for a couple of months, who knows if they will bring that back. There is now a taco shop convenient located next door. It is open late so even if you leave Agave at 4am you can walk over and get yourself some good ol’ carne asada burrito. Put on your dancing shoes! :)

I’m from Atlanta & I’m used to the nightlife over there. It’s bomb a/f. Anyways, so yeah, since moving to San Diego hadn’t gone to any clubs, one day i decided to come on Unilocal and find some hispanic or straight mexican clubs where they play corridos and duranguense. I found Blue Agave, watched some of their videos, i liked the scene, liked the music, I figured I’d check it out. My husband & I went on a Friday, pre-gamed in the parking lot and then went in. Cover was $ 30 because it was a concert night.(we had no idea) Any who it was pretty fun, they played bachata, techno, reggeaton, and cumbias. Once the band came on we danced for a little but by the time they were done i wanted to leave. See… i wanted MEXICAN music, where you scream your lungs out and get drunk. Instead i got tropical music. Point is this club isn’t as bad as most of you are making it out to be. It’s aiite… The reason it’s gets 3 stars is because I went on a concert night & I didn’t get to dance like i wanted to.

Never going back to this place ever again … Worst experience ever … Worst customer service … Drunk guys getting away with grabbing girls and security doesn’t do anything about it …

The bottom line: awesome club with great live bands and killer drink specials. Whenever I come I start my night by buying a bottle of Don Julio 1942 and taking shots with my friends. Once the music is in full swing we bit the big dance floor and dance all night. The security is professional an a must have for any club, so I don’t understand the complaints from people. It keeps low class troublemakers out of the club and I always feel safe there with my friends.

Anyone going to any concert or event put on by this night club will be waiting in line for more than 3HOURS in the COLD! They are sooooooo disorganized and understaffed! The promoter or whom ever puts the concerts/events together SHOULDBEFIRED!!! They put on a Wisin y Yandel concert in Northern California yesterday and they made us all wait for more than 4 hours! Standing in the cold! The doors were suppose to open at 7pm, I was in line by 6pm…4 hours later they started letting people in. Everyone was so tired, irritated, mad, and confused that they began rushing to the front of the line cutting everyone who had been waiting there for hours. Blue Agave’s people and security guards didn’t do anything about it because there were only 2(can you believe it!) people working the line. By the time I was let inside(10pm), my legs were hurting, I was tired, and extremely irritated. Wisin y Yandel began the concert 20 minutes later… the line was soooo long that I bet some people didn’t even get in on time to hear the first few songs. BLUEAGAVE Night Club SHAMESHAMESHAME on you for having a very DUMB, DISORGANIZEDIDIOT organizing your events!!!(I’m only using these words because I can’t use any profanity!) I DONOT recommend any one to go to any event put on by them. Save your money and time, do your legs and body a favor, and go to someone else to put on the concert or event you want to see. NEVERAGAIN!

After reading some of the other Unilocal reviews, I was kind of nervous to go. I’m glad that I did, though. I had an absolute blast! Everyone(EVERYONE!) was friendly there, and I felt comfortable and safe. I danced my butt off with a bunch of different people, and really enjoyed just watching people dance, too. People were clearly having a great time. The DJ did change songs too quickly, as someone else mentioned on here, though. I met a bunch of new people here, and I’m really looking forward to going again. It’s a little divey, but in a totally non offensive way. My only real complaint is that the band started so late! I got there at 9:30 and finally left at midnight(on a THURSDAY) because the band wasn’t even set up yet! I watched a bit of the performance from home on their webcam and it looked amazing though, and I was jealous of my friends who stayed late!

Granted I’m white and I happen to be with the only Latino guy who doesn’t move his hips well unless he’s uh. .. well you know. I was put off at first because it was part of a strip mall and seemed very small, upon going in it’s a bit bigger then expected but still smallish. The have an outdoor patio where people smoke and has a separate bar. I’ve seen those corona buckets going around, but didn’t get one. I did order a few mixed drinks, and they are cheap but not worth it. Of course it was all latino music as can be expected, but the DJ(at least the night we went) knew nothing about transition or how to blend the music. It made dancing awkward at times. If the music is sub par, and the drinks aren’t worth it what’s the point? We left after about an hour.

Um, How about a big, NO! The music was lively but it was super dark and had hideous black lights. We were in the private party sections. The only ups to the place was the cheap liquor. The music was okay. The people at the bar seemed just a tad on the crazy side. Don’t even think about bumping into someone accidentally, Oh excuse me for being in a crowded bar and accidentally grazing your arm. Where are my manners Sir or Madam. They will stare you down and then proceed to threaten. The front was reminiscent of an airport shakedown. You have to go through 3 security guards just to get in. Now if I’m being felt up at the door by the female security guard, it should have been an indicator. On a positive note, I was able to watch 2 movies while there. There are TVs all around but the private area had a huge one. So i finished watching Mila Jovovich kick some zombie ass and Hugh jackman kick ass with a robot. That was the highlight of the night. Cheap drinks, Loud Latin Music(Friday Night). Cool movies. :) Good Luck.

Some inside secrets are that this place stays open until 4 am. Drinks stop being served at 1:30 am so best bet is to order two at a time every time and store some drinks at a table. If you get here early you’ll get the table and can literally drink all night, it’s awesome!

My wife and I, were in San Diego over the weekend and were looking for a cool salsa club, thanks to Unilocal,we disocovered the The Blue Agave, it’s location in a strip mall, don’t let appearances fool you, once we got inside, it was pretty big, big dance floor, which was jam packed with people… The music, was great, a cool fun vibe… I do suggest the following: 1. get there early, no cover before 10pm 2. get there early, to get a table. not that many tables. 3. get there early, they offer lessons between 9−10pm 4. get there early, to get a good parking space… 5. get some cash before, they don’t take atm or credit at the door, there is an atm inside. i can’t wait to go back :)

«How the fuck did I end up in TJ? Didn’t I drive here?» This is exactly what you would find a few miles south and without the super cheap liquor. Also, the cholos are fakes, the women are hideous, and there are actually fewer white folks around Blue Agave than there are in TJ. No joke, some douche asked me if I wanted to be shanked after bumping into him en route to the bar. Cholitos don’t ask… they stab. Security is compromised mostly of off duty cops who seem to be about the most inefficient people on the planet when it comes to accomplishing their job. The next time my friends from the real deep south ask me out they’re going to have to settle with a place that doesn’t require you to be frisked like you’re in prison to enter.
