Cashola only!!! For 7 bucks, this is one of my favorite quick eateries. Order the #1 and you will not be dissapointed. I used to come here once a week until i started working in carmel mountain. Anyway, the #1 combination plate has everything you need for a nice hearth not healthy lunch so be prepared to be MSG heavy. The service is quite lazy. They dont have any personality and seem like. They all hare their jobs. But you need to go into the mindset that that is probably their culture and dont let it ruin your experience of the food. The 5 stars is for the price a d food… not the service. When you dig in, let your bbq pork swim in the schriacha. Its hella fantastic.

I started coming here over 15 years ago. I work near this place again and have introduced all my coworkers to this hole in the wall. Its a cash only place and their staff here are really pleasant. I always get #1 and my total is $ 7.01. There portions are huge. i highly recommend this place.

Chung Hing has been around for awhile. It’s a little hole in the wall restaurant on Miramar Rd. I always order the number 5 which is the egg foo young combo plate. I substitute the rice for the chow mien. The egg foo young is not bad at not bad at all, especially when you have them drench it in that brown gravy. It comes with an egg roll which is not the best taste wise. but hey. it comes with the combo meal so you got to eat it :-) I have tried the #1 which is the BBQ Pork combo plate. This is Chung Hing’s most popular plate. The pork alone is so tasty. Tips: Cash Only– Busy during lunch– very small inside. the older lady that makes your plate. not the best when it comes to customer service. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her smile. But who cares. More gravy please!

Giving it a three star because of possibly my combo order. But great customer service!

Started coming here again and they’ve brought back their A game. It’s clean, the food is really good, really well priced. I hate that it’s cash only, but that’s my only gripe at this point.

Maybe I made the mistake of ordering something no one has posted on their Unilocal, but their«broccoli chicken» sucked. Seriously, does no one in SD know how to make a good chicken & broccoli? Only come here if you want good fortune cookies, because those were good

Neighborhood gem. There is a reason it is cash only and not open on the weekends and delicious is the reason. #1 combo and egg rolls(at least 2)!

Dat BBQ Pork doe!!! This place is very unassuming at first glance, but upon entry its exactly as youd expect. The real hidden gem here is the Bbq pork amd every dish its in. From the fried rice to the chow mein its all great. The best option is to buy the pork by the pound cause its straight to the point! Dont pass it, stop by and be sure tk bring cash

Make sure you bring at least $ 10 in cash. Recommend getting the number 1, as it is my favorite dish. I’ve tried a couple of the other dishes including their egg fooyoung, and the number 1 is the dish that keeps me coming back for more. My go-to place for chinese take out after work, since i work in the area. Make sure to get a side of their chili sauce.

Who doesn’t like awesome and affordable Chinese food?! Tucked in the same shopping center as McDonald’s by Miramar Rd is this place. Once in a while I will drive myself here for lunch hoping to beat the lunch rush especially when the craving kicks in. It’s cash only so come prepared. My go to order is combo #1 — bbq pork with chicken wings. It is sooo good and ridiculously inexpensive, it’s a win-win in my book! :)

Best Chinese food in Mira Mesa! I’m a Chinese food snob being from NY but this is better then anything I’ve had back home. It was fresh and so tasty! And cheap cheap! I got a little roast pork and then the beef broccoli #6 for under $ 10 and it was more then enough food. When I went to pick it up the front area was also very clean which is a rarity for Chinese places. I only wish the fried wontons it came with weren’t soggy, but I think it’s because she put then in the container with the hot food. Eat here! No where else!

the most unlikely place to get the best tasting and looking char siu pork, Miramar rd.. after our SF chinatown incident i was searching for a deep red crusty char all round with a sticky light sweet glaze chinese bbq pork and finally i found it. i would’ve guessed kearny mesa but they’ve never had very good ones ever. they would’ve gotten 5 stars for the char siu alone but their american style chinese food(chicken and broccoli) was a little off in terms of flavor and choice of sauce(white) and what’s with the onions in the dish? regardless i will be back for their bbq pork.

Reddish honey glaze Shines and sparkles like red sun Sweet scent of roast pork. When I think of Miramar Rd I think of fast food joints and 2 Chinese buffets of questionable quality. I found Chung Hing on Unilocal and wondered why it was so highly rated. Located in a strip mall I didn’t expect much. I watched as she measured about a pound and a half of bbq pork. Pork was so beautiful glinting under the lights. Sweet honey glaze compliments the savory flavors from the 5 spice powder and soy sauce. Pork was tender and you could still taste the pork under the delicious glaze. My taste buds are in love. :-) Chicken wings had that msg flavor I love and were juicy but lacked the crunchy crispy skin you get from cooked to order wings. Similar to Sam Woo takeout wings. Chow mien had a good assortment of flavors with the bbq pork and veggies. A bit tastier than Sam Woo takeout or Panda Express. Egg rolls are vegetarian so I didn’t try them. This is my fav place to get bbq pork. The rest of the items I tried are typical Chinese takeout I wouldn’t go out of my way for.

How have I not written a review on this place! What can I really say that hasn’t already been said… trust the reviews and get the BBQ… amazing!!! Getting the combo is probably your best bet. Sometimes I do just get the BBQ if I’m taking it home or bringing it as a potluck item(try it… it’s a huge hit at parties). Love supporting this mom and pop shop. Friends have been going here for years, so can only imagine how long this place has been around. Things to know: Cash only Family owned and served

Like the middling person I am, I am on the fence on this place. It is fast, hot and efficient. Which means the service is not messing around with your bs today, they are ready to plate your food for you, so do them a favor and be ready to order. If you’re ordering and haven’t just accidentally happened into this establishment, then go for the char siu or bbq’d pork. They’re known for it, and it’s quite good. If you get the #1, it comes with wings, which are everything childhood me would have wanted in a meal, hot, salty and crispy. I’m not the biggest fan of char siu, so I usually go for the beef with broccoli. Also hot and fresh. I give this place 3 stars because comparably, it’s just not my favorite of all the places I get Chinese food. But if you’re in the neighborhood and need a quick, hot and relatively cheap meal, then stop by.

Cheap Chinese food for $ 6 is what brought me to Chung Hing. My coworkers were headed over there and I really wasn’t too sure about it, but one of my coworkers is from Hong Kong, so if he liked it, then it couldn’t be that bad. We arrived around 11:40AM right before the lunch rush. A couple minutes after we ordered a line of people formed behind us, so if you go, go early! You can choose from the combo items or order a la carte. The combo items exist mostly in front so they scoop it up right in front of you. I ordered the orange chicken and they had to make that in the back. Didn’t take too long to get it though. Most dishes are $ 6.49 and it is cash only! Most people take the items to go, but they do have a handful of tables there where you can sit at to enjoy your food. My orange chicken was very good and came with fried rice and lo mein and I had plenty leftover for another meal. The quality isn’t as good as other Chinese spots, but for the price and quantity, it’s a decent take out lunch option. Next time, I’ll try one of the combos!
