A friend got lucky and scored some box seats to a Padres Game. We got there early and was looking for a bar with food. My friend said l was buying so we looked on Unilocal. Found this place and decided to try some asian cuisine which they have at the San Francisco Ballpark. Was busy and the place was full but not packed. Not to noisy but was suprised to see it was a kind of sports bar. Also suprised that it had such a great craft beer selection. Food was good and service was friendly. Nice variety of Chinese and Sushi. Pleasantly suprised.

Food and service are whatever. Lettuce wraps are good. Convenient so I eat here about every 2 weeks but if it wasn’t attached to my house I wouldn’t be here that often.

We went here went a concert was playing a few hours latter. The place was very busy. The food was really good. The person I was with really like the fried fish and the creamy walnut shrimp was very good. Both those entries came with a lot of food. The dragon balls our interesting and unique. I am glad I order that but probably won’t over it again. The salmon Nigiri was very good. i differently come back to this place.

I get it it’s down town ! Dragons den is pricy ! If your going to the Ball park and absolutely have to go then it will be ok for you. If not stick to your favorite neighborhood sushi. It sucks paying 14 to 18 a roll for the same as your neighborhood charges 9 I paid eleven bucks for a bento box that had a sparse amount of food

Food was okay, but literally had the worst service I’ve ever had. Waitress took ten minutes to take our order, then the food was delivered. Twenty minutes later she came out to check, we asked for the bill, and she never came back — had to settle up with the bar. Horrible service.

Good rolls for our first 2 times here. Lots of choices for deep fried and no rice rolls too. Good service at the regular bar. It’s right behind the ballpark, so convenient for downtown tourists and locals. It prob beats most other sushi places in the area, but not positive. I’m pretty picky and would go back on future trips.

Dragon’s Den was exactly what my sister, friend, and I needed after reading at the library. This restaurant has all day happy hours on Saturdays and Sundays, which saves you a few dollars. Also, its prime location next to Petco Park helps with wandering around, with a dog in tow. As a new puppy owner, I’m always on the lookout for a new location to bring my Chiweenie. We enjoyed a variety of delicious flavors: Pork pot stickers = nom nom Crunchy yet soft crab rangoon(perfect mix of crab and cream cheese) Diamond View protein roll included spicy tuna, salmon, and albacore(my favorite but a bit pricey at $ 18) Ramen burger for the lil sis, which she loved. It looked like brains, but I didn’t tell her until later. The only reason this place has 4 stars was due to the somewhat slower service. The staff was friendly, but it took a while to get cutlery, and we never got bowls for soy sauce. We re-purposed the ginger bowl and chowed down. Worth a retuning visit.

Walked in during non-peak hours and thought the place was closed. Wasn’t acknowledged by the bartender and had to actual ask if the place was open. Sat at the bar since that was the only place I would have seemed to have gotten service. Prices seemed a little high but didn’t know what to expect from their sushi. When the order came out, I saw that the price was high for what I got. The sushi was pretty average. May give this place a second chance if I’m in the area again, maybe when it’s a little busier.

I opened a tab there last night before heading into Supercross. I have to say, the food was good and the drinks weren’t crazy expensive especially for being located downtown across from a Major League Ballpark. It wasn’t too busy and I found myself waiting quite a while for a draft beer(I have been in clubs and pool parties in Vegas with faster service for a mixed drink). The bartender finally told me that he was waiting for a new keg, 5 more minutes went by and finally I asked the other bartender for a different beer— so I could get back to my friends. Later, when I went to close out my tab, the bartender realized and told me he GAVE my card to another guy! I understand it was the same looking card and the had same first name. The bartenders both apologized but I heard nothing from management and no one offered me anything for my troubles that they have now caused me; my card being out there somewhere getting charged, I have to call my bank, cancel my card and get a new one mailed which takes a good week or so! I was surprised that no one offered me a gift card, a free shot, or ANYTHING, really. I would think they would want me to be a returning customer after having lost my card! In my opinion, that is no small thing! Like I said, the food was decent but not enough to have me be a returning customer. I could go to the Tilted Kilt or Bub’s where you get more bang for your buck. Better food, service and environment. As far as going for sushi/Japanese food downtown, I would suggest going to Sushi Deli 2 on Broadway, their happy hour is awesome.

I’m an East Village local and really really tried to give this place a chance… actually about 10 chances before leaving a review. Dragon Den’s sushi is bland, overpriced and disappointing. And twice as bad if you get take out. I’m not sure if they think because you are getting take out you will be to dumb to notice the dry rice and the tasteless sushi? And how about the $ 17 roll that is supposed to have a lot of fish and no rice? Don’t ever get that one! There was so much cucumber wrapped around it that you couldn’t taste the tiny portions of fish. Total rip off. From now on I will be getting sushi somewhere else.

This place is a hot mess, Japan meets China meets downtown bar scene. Food mediocre, served spontaneously, tasted reheated, somewhat flavorless and expensive. Supplies littered all over the restaurant, no you should not have huge boxes of Sysco cups stacked on top of furniture in the dining areas or walkways. Broken furniture and umbrella mounts with extension cords scattered outside. Waiter was CLUELESS regarding suggestions, menu was too busy, food came out at random. My suggestion, clean up the place, choose Japanese or Chinese not 4 menus of stuff and do it well.

August 8: This place is dead well it was late… I was hungry after the padres game. So since this is just right across we decided to check it out. It seemed busy at first, there was people around the bar, but since I couldn’t see pass the bar from the front I didn’t realize all the tables were empty. We were asked to wait to be seated. Since I wanted a table and not to sit at the bar they gave us a big round table in the corner. The table was definitely awesome looking. There is a tap handle in the middle. We were checking it out and it looks like a draft table, as if you can pour beer from there. We were given menus and taken our time to look over stuff. This place doesn’t have good ratings but I was hungry and I wanted Asian food. We ordered: Dragon Balls = 3 pieces of spicy tuna stuffed mushrooms, interesting… but not bad Yellowtail Roll = roll for only $ 6.50 and tasted good surprisingly Salt and Pepper Wings = Super Duper huge wings. Wing on steroids, pretty good nice crisp Chicken Yakisoba = One of the most surprising dish, tasted how it should be. Good. Love noodles. The service was pretty good as well. Adara is listed on the receipt, I’m assuming that was our server’s name. She was really nice and patient. She recommended some of those dishes to us and we greatly appreciate it as it was good and satisfied our cravings. The place was not pricey at all and the food is not too shabby as well. I was curious where is everyone at? They got good drink deals as well. Well if I don’t want to pay for overpriced food, I’m definitely coming back here after a game or if I’m in the area. See you next season! :)

I have a client down the street and come here for lunch often. The bartender is always very courteous and handles everything well. The waitresses are also very pleasant. A good lunch can be had here for about ten bucks. Good variety of fare, even for vegans. Mens room is very clean. Parking is typical downtown.

The dragon den was offered by our valet personnel. It was an easy walk to the restaurant from our hotel. I noticed that it was very close to the stadium, meaning that it is very easy to get to after a game. The setting and atmosphere is very relaxing. There are large flat screen televisions at the bar. The outside has tables that have fire coming out of it to keep you warm at night. The waiting staff and rest of the staff are very friendly and very honest when it comes to recommendations. I am glad that our waitress told us about the see weed salad which she was bland but we could add a different dressing to give it more flavor. I ordered the dragon roll which had salmon, cream cheese, see weed, eel sauce and rice. It was good, I did enjoy my meal. The egg rolls which I had I felt could have had more vegetables. Overall it was a good experience.

PSA: Dragon’s Den is not a place where geeky guys(and girls) go to roll a 20-sided die in order to inflict damage upon imaginary ogres. It’s an Asian-fusion restaurant. Nonetheless, it’s still a cool place to go during Comic Con and much better than I was anticipating given that my previous downtown fusion experience(J Wok) quite disappointed. I ordered a ramen burger that not only tasted great but was also much better than the version at Convoy’s Raki Raki, the latter having introduced the concept to San Diego. The Den’s version featured a juicy, tasty patty with a chewy and not over-cooked ramen«bun,» with the bun really adding to the experience and not just existing as a gimmick. The only downside is that the ramen really doesn’t hold heat well, meaning that holden the burger can be a little uncomfortable. Summary: The ramen burger is +9 against ogres.

Best place to come to before or after a Padre game. We decided to stop in for a quick bite and drinks before heading into padre game. Best idea ever! They have 394 on tap and its was only $ 5 bucks! Great deal considering a tall can of bud is 11 in the game. I wasn’t sure what to expect but decided to order some nigiri. I think they were priced at 6 each and delicious! Fresh salmon and albacore. I was a happy girl! Overall the menu has a variety: Japanese/Chinese fusion but it works! My friend had Ramen and liked her food too. Our bartender Krys(not sure on the sp?) super nice and we even went back after the game to visit him again! Bonus: Pet friendly patio! Can’t wait to go back for happy hour!

Came here for an early dinner since we were in the area. Unilocal had brought us here. As we walked inside, we were greeted by the friendly bartender. He told us to sit anywhere so we picked a table on the corner. The blinds were closed since it was so bright outside and there was air conditioning in here! A cool place to relax after all the walking we did in Downtown. Our server was Jessica. She was very helpful with the menu. They had happy hour all day today. Food was marked down on selected items on the menu. I ordered the chicken egg rolls and dim sum platter to start. I also order the honey walnut shrimp which comes with steamed rice and a salad. My hubby gets the salt and pepper chicken wings and a ramen burger. The eggs rolls were good. The dim sum was good but eat it while it’s warm. Not good when it gets cold. Gets chewy. My honey walnut shrimp was perfect. There was a side of broccoli and salad was okay. Salad was a little too soft. Sort of wilting. We ended up taking leftovers home. Hubby wasn’t impressed with his ramen burger but he loved the chicken wings. I was so stuffed. I didn’t have room to try the chicken wings. It was enough to feed four people. Great place to eat! I really enjoyed my food. Our waitress Jessica always kept checking up on us. Place wasn’t busy. She even refilled our drinks. Now that’s what I call service. She was even nice enough to put our to go boxes in a plastic bag for us. I highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner. Good food. Next time I will try the sushi.

So, it’s 6:30 pm and the bar is empty. I ask Chris, the bartender, to make me something interesting. He asks what I like, I say«whiskey, typically old fashioneds.» Well, Chris tells me he makes a pretty mean old fashioned. Fair enough, I try his. And it’s pretty damn good. However, that would be the only drink I’d try of his on this evening because I sat at the bar for 10 minutes with an empty glass and no offer for another drink. I waited patiently. And watched the time. Then at the 15 minute mark I tabbed out. No one should sit at an empty bar with an empty glass on a Monday night.
