Extremely disappointed… I wasn’t even able to get my shoes shined. The employee was helping another customer, and when I asked if I could have a seat and be next. He replied«No…I’m going on break» In a rude tone. As soon as he was finished shining his current customers shoes, the next guy hopped up and he continued to work with a new customer. I have been here for over an hr, and I was the only person he denied service to.

Danny, I’m offended that you were lacially discriminated against. It’s unfortunate your footwear didn’t receive the care they needed. It’s a shame that you spent $ 7 to end up wiping off your own smudges. I’ll check if the local Cobbler-Shoeshine Union can review this further… nope, they’re independent contractors. Fortunately, I didn’t receive the same dismal service. Mark was the gentleman that restored the luster to my old brown shoes. I basically pulled these beaters last night from the depths of the storage closet for a work trip. The pair looked pretty bad and they desperately needed a major detail and shine. Thanks to a United Airlines two-hour departure delay, I decide to get a $ 7 shine to pass some time. Mark asks if I’m in a hurry to make sure I don’t miss my flight. He does his crafty job of cleaning, buffing and polishing the old leather to brighten up my comfy shoes. He’ll offer up casual conversation, but definitely focuses on the work as he wipes the sweat from his brow after the task is completed. I notice the particularly shiny shoes at the terminal gate from other delayed customers that also visited Goodfellows Shoeshine. If you happen to notice Mark working the stand at the airline terminal, then I’d recommend stepping up and giving your shoes some proper care. Service so good you don’t need to pull the lace card.

A complete waste of money!!! Discrimination sucks and I definitely feel like I was lacially profiled here yesterday. That’s not a typo… I was wearing Chuck Taylors and waited 15 minutes for the two gents in suits before me to finish up. When both of the attendants were done at the same time they argued about which one was going to clean my kicks. After about 2 minutes into having mine«cleaned» another business suit came up for a polish and my shine was all done shortly after. When the woman said«ok you’re all set» I responded«Really that’s as clean as you can get them?» She replied, «Yep I did my best, but those scuffs are pretty tough.» I’m not the type for confrontation so I just paid her and walked away extremely confused. As I waited for my flight I was able to wipe off two of the black marks that remained on my shoes with my finger. Not sure if the fact that I wanted sneakers cleaned was weird to them or if they just figured since I wasn’t wearing dress shoes that I wouldn’t tip, but I certainly did not get the same attention as other customers did. I rarely give a 1 star but, this experience certainly pissed me off. Like I said… a complete waste of seven dollars.
